I’ve been to Central Park the 3 times I’ve visited NY, after seeing this video here I realized I’ve missed so much! I’ll be going back in a few weeks, I am sure I’ll be looking out for all your fun facts shared here. Love your videos, you give me confidence to navigate the city less fearlessly! I Love NY!
Beautiful and informative video, Sarah. I've been to Central Park hundreds of times over the years but never really appreciated a lot of the detail that you point out. Everything you do is so professionally done and well thought out. Love your videos
We were on the tour with you when the Australian family went crazy over the squirrels! Great tour and that was so funny hearing you mention it in this video.
this video came out at a perfect time, I'm currently planning my NYC trip for the end of this month & central park is a must visit for me but its so big that i don't even know where to start
Hmmmm, I have been to Central Park once in my life back in 2019. But after seeing this video, it is obvious I got to see less than one percent of it. If I ever make it back to NYC, the Park is the one place I would like to spend a lot of time exploring. Thank you for the video.
Love your NYC videos. Just a thought about the Bethesda Fountain: Bethesda means "House of Mercy," and is mentioned in the Bible in the book of John where John writes of "The Pool of Bethesda" where many infirm waited until the waters were stirred at which time they could make their way to the Pool to be healed. Bethesda Fountain commemorated the opening of the Croton Aqueduct which brought fresh water to the people of New York. The fresh water brought "healing" to the citizens of New York because the clean water replaced the contaminated water that had been diseasing the people. Central Park benefited public health in many ways, providing fresh air, exercise and relaxation.
Great informative video. I live in NY and I look forward to following this tour within the next few weeks when the trees are changing. Also, your shoes are so cute. Perfect for walking through the park.
Susan B. Anthony's GGGgrand niece! Very cool. Great tour of Central Park, one of my favorite haunts when I lived in NYC. And thanks for including The Ramble.
I was in New York City for the first time this September and saw a park bench. On the park bench stood “Central Park the Soul of New York City”. It was fantastic to walk from north to south through Central Park
A glorious place! This was an excellent tour, Sarah. I learned so many tidbits. The mall is a gem. 💗 I had no idea there was a children's zoo at the park as well - definitely will be checking that out next time! 🙌 P.S. Fools Rush In is one of my favourite romcoms. I always remembered that quote! 😍 Love from Toronto. xo
You're the best Sarah! Love this video! I am planning on visiting the city next spring. My son has only seen the southern end of the park. Around the pond area and up to the big rock. I told him there is a zoo there, we were short on time on that visit, so we're planning to hit the zoo! I also want him to see Strawberry Fields. I had no idea of the Mall area until this video! I was in Central Park as a kid way back in the 70's but have little memory of some of the park. Thank you for making content like this! See, there is a reason I call you my very favorite tour guide of NYC!!!
We did a pedicab through part of the Park a month ago and loved it. I hope we make it back to NYC (we live in New Zealand) and have more time to explore it properly. Thank you Sarah for all your informative videos. They made a huge difference.💕 We fell in love with your city.
Nice! I just really enjoy your videos and your style of presentation and you hooked me as a subscriber long ago. I'm a Minnesotan who's been to New York once and this video reminded me of the time we were there and we experienced a sunny winter day walking through Central Park the day after it had snowed. It was gorgeous! P.S. Your story about you and your friends sinking the boat was hilarious!
Haha yes we’ve got no squirrels here in Australia! And no red-eared slider turtles either 😤 that’s why my number 1 destination when I come visit New York is always the turtle pond 🐢😍 love your channel!!! And great video…much better than mine Central Park video that I’ve got on my channel…one of my early videos and it’s embarrassing compared to yours. Plus you know so many facts! Love you!!!!
Went on your midtown Manhattan tour in July which was great but I’m returning in March so I’m defo gonna book your Central Park tour cos the only part I saw was the John Lennon memorial as I’m a huge Beatles fanatic!
Awesome historical/tour of Central Park Sarah I learnt a lot of things.I'm from Melbourne Australia and I went to New York in 2017. You're right about the squirrels I love them I walked right around the Park and took a lot of photos of squirrels and raccoons.Of course you know we have a lot of native animals like kangaroos, koalas and emus but no squirrels just possums.
You need to go to Inwood Hill Park to see the last remaining old growth forest on Manhattan Island. Much of the park is unlandscaped and natural and there are many trails.
I’ve lived in NY my whole life (well Long Island) and I’ve actually never seen Central Park in person before, like I’ve never even been close to it. That’s definitely on my bucket list ti eventually go up there.
Why haven't you yet? It shouldn't be too difficult to get to the subway and make ur way there? Im not trying to be rude or anything im just saying you should definitely go if you're that close!
Could you please cover the independent movie theaters such as Film Forum and Metrograph? That's always the highlight for me when visiting. Keep up the amazing work!
Hi Sarah, great video but you left out an important history fact. Before Central Park's creation, there existed Seneca Village, a vibrant community of free Black property owners in pre-Civil War New York. The community began in 1825, when landowners in the area.
Love the shoutout to Aussies about the squirrels, and yes, we are a little obsessed! We did, for a while, have an introduced species here in Western Australia (they escaped from the zoo) but they've been eradicated. So whenever we see squirrels in the US (or really anywhere that has them) the immediate reaction is 'SQUIRREL' and complete adoration ;-)
I only spent 2 and. Half miles in one section on Tuesday the 26th of September and on the 28th I did another 3 miles . I missed out on a few areas I can’t wait to return to next time. Hopefully the weather will be better I was there during the rain I had such a great time though. I’ll plan my visit more on a weekend instead of weekday next time
I use to live a block away from the park. As soon as the weather was about 35 degrees I'd drag the dog and we'd find new areas to walk around every time.
Great video as always Sarah! But I encourage you to learn about Togo who was the real hero of that Nome diphtheria run. Balto unfortunately got all the credit even though Togo was really the lead dog for most of the journey. Sorry, I’m such a nerd!! 😂😂
I am planning on taking a day trip to Central Park this coming summer. I will be taking the train from New Jersey into New York and walking to Central Park. Are there any recommendations as far as good places to eat in that area?
Have fun on this virtual tour? Then you might enjoy an in-person one. Learn more here: funkyexperiences.com/
Yes! Thank you! I will try to do this kinda tour for my colleagues after 15 days :))
This is the best video on Central Park I've ever seen. What an interesting place. Who knew?
Next time I'm in the city, I may take this tour!
Loved this one Sarah! So much info and history!
That was fantastic - loved seeing all of the iconic spots and hearing the history with reference photographs etc. Great work! So enjoyable.
I’m so glad you loved it!

Haha you remembered!
Beautiful! Thanks for great summary and the tour
Hi Sarah
Cool Video of Central Park. Been there numerous times. Been to Central Park Zoo numerous times as well.

Yeah for real haha I went there before and just saw the bottom part. Never knew it was so huge

Thank you for providing that insight! It’s super interesting!
Thank you for the most informative video! Enjoyed the details of the Bethesda Terrace, all of the symbolisms and the Minton Tiles of the arcade.
We came to New York from the UK a few years back just before covid and we absolutely loved the Zoo at Central Park
Great video. Reminds me of your old videos and when you would go live.
Great informative video. I live in NY and I look forward to following this tour within the next few weeks when the trees are changing. Also,
your shoes are so cute. Perfect for walking through the park.

I’m glad you enjoyed it!
You're amazing Sara!!.. One day I will be there in Central Park !! Greetings from Honduras, Central America!!
Absolutely 💖LOVE Central Park! 💖Especially, Bethesda Fountain 18:43 ⛲ So incredibly beautiful and serene!
those were some great pics of the rescue on the boats!
Haha thank you!
Love your videos! We're visiting New York on 3rd January. I thought Togo was the hero dog and not Balto or others?
Great video, thank you!

I love video tours like this with details and historical context! I just moved to NYC a year ago and I love learning so much about my new home! 😊
Love, love, love ❤️ Central Park ❤️ Thank you for the history of the park, makes me love it even more ❤️
I’m so glad to hear that! Thanks for watching!
This video is great. Which buidling is behind you at the 25:33 time stamp?
Great video, what a magical place. Those squirrels! 🐿🤗😅
Loved this ramble through the park!

Hope you didn't have to pay too much for the pedicab 😱
@@RChenwu it wasn't cheap but not one of those $8 per minute ones either.

I haven't seen a video describing the design purpose of Central Park. Very well done!
Thank you!
Love the historical context!
Awesome. Thank you for this vlog. Cheers.
This video was super informative!
Congrats Sarah!!🎉🎉
Very informative video of Central Park! Thanks for sharing beautiful lady😘😘😘 xox
luv and prayers from mama sis and me, beautifully virtuous family, miss our Lady of NYC and her lovely daughters,

I read that they considered Prospect Park their masterpiece because they had more freedom from demands like cross streets.
Could you please cover the independent movie theaters such as Film Forum and Metrograph? That's always the highlight for me when visiting. Keep up the amazing work!
Thanks!!!
Coming to New York City in December so hopefully I will be able to experience Central Park
I enjoyed this video!! I want to find out where the Belvidere castle is and Senecca Village too.
Its funny because I am from nyc but I havent been to central park in years. I need to go back again
Your videos are Great.🇨🇦
Can you please share where we can get the purse you have? ❤
Hi Sarah, great video but you left out an important history fact.
Before Central Park's creation, there existed Seneca Village, a vibrant community of free Black property owners in pre-Civil War New York. The community began in 1825, when landowners in the area.
Yes! I would have talked about that part further up in the park where there settlement was. It’s a important piece of history!
At 21:00 there’s a 🐢 creeping into the tour. Sarah slings that purse around the entire time! She must love that purse! 😂
Love the shoutout to Aussies about the squirrels, and yes, we are a little obsessed! wish i knew about you before i was in nyc last month
Same! Haha
Thank you for sharing this amazing video. It’s really cool that you’re related to Susan B Anthony. She was a wonderful woman.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I am hoping to see the Belvedere castle and the Alice in wonderland statues during my next visit!!!
Yea do it!
I use to live a block away from the park. As soon as the weather was about 35 degrees I'd drag the dog and we'd find new areas to walk around every time.
I have bien in central Park in 1998
Great video as always Sarah! But I encourage you to learn about Togo who was the real hero of that Nome diphtheria run. Balto unfortunately got all the credit even though Togo was really the lead dog for most of the journey. Sorry, I’m such a nerd!! 😂😂
Have you ever been to the Susan B Anthony House in Rochester? It is pretty cool.
Not yet but I plan on it!
Leave that Susan B Anthony House trash over on the upstate
I am planning on taking a day trip to Central Park this coming summer. I will be taking the train from New Jersey into New York and walking to Central Park. Are there any recommendations as far as good places to eat in that area?
Im visiting the city from London for Christmas, do you do Christmas tours?
Yes! We will be launching them soon. It will be live on Funky Experiences within a week!
Great video…as an fyi, you can see turtles in the pond near the fountain.
You’re right! Thank you!
Was that Tom Delgado I saw at the beginning of the video giving a tour?
Hi Sarah ❤❤❤
spot buat mancing wqwqwq, btw keseluruhan CP bagus banget
Hi! I like NYC❤ I will come next year
18:34 Big boy was almost rocked
How long does it usually take to explore the park if one would follow this video?
I only go to Central Park for the rocks.
Love your boots!
Thank you!
😘😘😘😘😘 from Portugal
Nice
Hi doll ❤
Where is the butterfly exhibit? In the Zoo??
What above 72 street? Up to 110? Scary to go even during daytime?
Yep! No squirrels, just loads possums, koalas, kangaroos and our nuisance birds the Ibis we call bin chickens.
That is the sandman on that nighttime Pilar
How do we get a tour from Sarah herself
I love pigeons.
I love you, Sarah.
Congrats.🎉
You never got up to the gardens. Everyone always forgets the northern part of the park🤷♂️
I wanted to but I didn’t have time!
Great work. So informative and well delivered. Only critique would be for the cameraman to stop interrupting or talking in general.
i am shocked there are no kangaroos or koalas in Central park! i think sloths would fit right in as well.
That's dope that's Susan b Anthony is your great great aunt you must have a bunch of her coins
2:02 Booooocaaaaaa
She only did under 81 street and stll left so much out
Our Sarah Funk can do finger in every pie
