So! The 1099! Back to the front.
Pretty pleased with myself going out on this foil. I have small moments of bravery sometimes. On paper I knew what to expect, I was slightly surprised by the thinner bottom end and lack of pressure from the foil. I remember the 10 99 feeling like quite a big foil and a link machine for me.
With this session it was quite an intense run, I felt like I had to keep my speeds high or else. Whether or not that’s true I don’t know, I think I get quite heavy footed for the takeoffs and so the smaller foils start feeling difficult to get up. I might just be lifting too early… I think one of the longer narrow boards would come into play here. You would get the forward speed, well maybe not all the forward speed but you would get more forward speed before initiating the Foil.
So yeah this was a pretty fast average speed run until I came down for 20 minutes… that slowed things down. The bumps were quick, glassy, flat and crossed where I came off foil. But I got going again and finished the run without too much pain.
I think I would probably select the 1121 in place of the 1099 in the future, I think the bottom end is similar and the 1121 has a more refined feel and is better behaved… Or perhaps I need to get around to cutting down the 1201!

This foil is my best purchased, I love it. I bought it 3 years ago, firstly for winging and now this is the foil I use the most to surf foil little waves and sup downwinding.
