These systems are implemented for the benefit of HR and Accounting… it is not for the benefit of your employees. From an employee perspective, it sucks. What business are you in??? HR??? It does nothing to help your employees serve your customers. It frustrates employees.
Nicely stated Eric..... the costs of implementation, subscriptions and per user can be astronomical and a shock to organizations versus what they were "marketed/sold". I give Workday a lot of credit, they have marketed their product very well but don't be fooled, it does not eliminate resources because of the automation it actually has created a need for additional resources and cost based on my experience. I like the product as well as others but organizations thinking about purchasing need to ask other organizations that have the product their "real" experience with the product, not just the "Rainbows and Unicorns" input.
Besides the fact that it glitches constantly, puts in more pointless sign-off issues than Vista, is one of the least intuitive softwares of all time, and requires constant re-uploads of the same information over and over and over. This is all before getting to the recruiting functions which turns a 40 to 120 minute hiring process with an employee to them putting in over 5 to 6 unpaid hours of paperwork, and also it doesn't communicate well with them. Many of my hires, due to glitches, especially with login issues, take over 3 weeks to process. Keep in mind, for most of my workers, they are starting out as a basic sales associate. By the time they finish workday hiring process, often they have found another position elsewhere with a better/less terrible recruiter.
Workday and partners. Multiple organizational and integration issues and not secure. And not good (Accenture and otter involved. Service Now is deceptive too
From a nearly 10-yr user of WD, this video is SO important for anyone considering it. We don’t call it “Work-all-day” for nothing. For example, the capability for reporting is just not efficient-we end up manually managing so many reports and data externally. And if there’s a problem, our IT admin has to submit the issue to WD and hope we get enough “votes” from other users experiencing the same issue. We end up with workarounds that end being permanent procedures because there’s no possible fix. Limited, frustrating, and often unreliable. On a positive note, it’s UI is nice, and there’s more transaction transparency compared to our legacy system. What they need to do is cut out the sales and put more resources into useful solutions.
Hi Amanda, are you able to elaborate on where the data lies that you guys are trying to generate reports from? Is it data that lies within HCM/FIN or is it pulling data from multiple data points? Thank you :)
@@janetzhou130 Hi Janet! I'm using the information within FIN to generate reports. Some came delivered, while most of the ones we use are custom. If you have a good report writer(s) on staff, they can pull the information together. However, when the information is spread into different modules with limited security, or is not managed within WD at all, that's when we have to manually pull together reports. So, there is also report security to contend with. If there's sensitive information, we understand the need for limited access. But for general-use financials, you'll need the right access, or you can't see the available reports. We don't always know what security access we need either. So, if you can't see the report because you don't have the security, we don't know if it already exists :( There's no standard report directory (or, at least one I am aware of). This may be a similar issue with different enterprise systems, of course - I can only speak about Workday. What I have found though is we'll have multiple reports that are similarly named, pulls what looks like the same data, but the results will vary. At that point, you have to test the reports too by going back to the source data to reconcile (hence, the "work all day"). My apologies, as this sounds like one long complaint! But if my years of WD can be a source of good information, then I'm happy to help.
I don’t see how anyone could claim that Workday’s UI is nice. It is very counterintuitive with confusing icons and nonexistent training and documentation.
It would be helpful if you could elaborate more on the functionality limitations from the perspective of it’s parent product- HCM.

Amen.

Amen about Workday’s user interface being non intuitive.
What is the best resource for learning workday finance?

Great video Eric. Oh, by the way, I like Gustave Klimt (you have pictures behind you)
Another great video, thank you! Quick question do you have a dedicated video on o9, the relatively new supply chain solution in the market?
What are your thoughts Workday for a large healthcare organization?
Thank you for posting this - huge help!
🙏
This is very interesting feedback. thank you
Workday is an awful accounting platform. It is like it has contempt for financial management.
Hi Eric, I liked your video tremendously because it is fact. If you're hiring, I'm your person. Your company sounds interesting.

Agreed
Tableau and accounting gurus are easily bought out and deceptive
Workday payroll sucks. ADP is much better.
This video is useless.
Yeah, he points out a lot of risk that is true with any ERP implementation an spins it like it's specific to a vendor. Fear mongering
pretty sure this video is sponsored by Oracle
