Anyone else rewatching mr ballens old videos and coming across gems you had forgotten? Its so wonderful to see how far he has come since his first video and how much he has progressed. WE LOVE YOU MR BALLEN
If you haven't already, check out some of his earlier episodes. He tells a story that's actually his own personal story of what seems to have been a paranormal encounter in his late teens while on a trip with some friends and one of their moms. He has a way of telling a story that just kind of makes you feel like you're there anyways. Being his own story, that feeling of being drawn into it was even more so. When you see a former navy seal is visibly shaken, even years after the fact, it added to the eerieness of it 10 fold. Definitely worth checking out. What really made it creepy to me is the way he seems to be pretty sceptical about the existence of ghosts and such in general, but still can't hide his unease with what he experienced.
oh my gay Lord!. this is a very scary story and its also an episode on the X-Files!! Nothing to fear agents Fox Mulder and Dana Scully are on the case!
I love that you don't use that annoying and stressful background music like creepypasta and the others. What makes your stories scary is the fact that they are scary not the background music
@@shagrynpoiseen11 I can't lie it does the job, it makes the video scary but it stresses me out. I always find myself forced to stop listening to these for weeks to get rid of the side effects of the stress caused by that music.
I agree, he also delivers the story is a normal voice. He doesn't try to oversell any of it. I guess that's part of him being a Navy Seal, when they speak...you listen!!
I cannot believe I am watching an episode from 3 yrs ago. John I am so happy for you and your family. As always thank you for your service and the strange dark and mysterious content.
The great thing about MrBallen telling stories is that it feels like some dude just telling you “this story they heard” while you’re hanging out. Something special about that.
Can you imagine being at a campground and sitting around a campfire telling ghost stories with him ? He has hundreds of true stories committed to memory. No one would dare go to sleep that night. At least "the hook on the door handle" at popular parking spots we all knew were fake stories.
Seriously. I'll turn on a game, preferably something kind of scary or at least intense and have this playing on my phone, amps the mood quite a bit. Remember when we were all kids and we did everything we could not to be creeped out? Now I intentionally look for scary stories. lol

Happened to me yesterday listening to songs from rappers who were unalived from the 1980s to present time. Suddenly sthg fell over, i was like hope that was one of the rappers.
I have to admit since i discovered this channel i skip netflix and other tv shows more and more. he's just an amazing storyteller. It feels good to use your own imagination again to create visual pictures.
I was literally looking for new content bc it feels as if I'm caught up with all my other channels and I stumbled across this channel.. hours and hours of content I've been listening for days
The abrupt ending to this story without any confirmation about what happened to the people, did they leave or stay, did they find more bones and so on has me on edge
I teach ESL in Italy, and I've been sending my students to MrBallen's channel for quite some time... Not only are his style (storytelling/flannel shirt combo) and his stories absolutely riveting, but he also pronounces the words perfectly for foreigners to understand! The way he tells his stories at a speed that is easy to make out, plus the total absence of cuss words in his content, make this channel a favorite among my students, even the lower level ones!👍😁 Thanks a million, MrBallen!!!🙏 ---> from your #1 fan from Italy 😉
@@donnaclayton8644 thank you!!!😁 I love sharing my passion for languages with my students, so I'm always trying to find interesting and appropriate channels to recommend for their English listening practice...in this particular case, MrB is so awesome that I told all my English-speaking friends about his channel, too, and they got hooked just like me!😄 THANK YOU, MrBALLEN for all the hard work you do to research, rearrange info, and build a complete story in chronological order for us!!! I think many people do not realize/appreciate how much work putting a story together entails...🤷🏼♀️ Please keep up your awesome work, and I'll keep sharing it with as many people as possible in this country!😊👍
Great idea! I'm also a teacher, and in addition to appreciating his eloquence, I like the way he converts standard measurements to metric and defines words that other UA-camrs may assume their audiences already know.
@@davidmillerization ikr? that is especially useful when my students are already struggling to understand what he's saying, and the conversion makes it easier to understand distance or weight, thus giving them a better mental image of how the story is unfolding... @@Mikeyjfox1 I lived in Richmond, south of town in the country, east of Eaton. Nice small town but the small town police force couldn't handle all the drug trafficking on 70. Then I moved to Carnel.
If I were him, and that family, I would have acquired more dogs! They know stuff that we can't see. I adopted a dog a few months ago from the pound that no one wanted, so he was on doggy death row. He was the most terrified creature I've ever seen, he broke my heart so I knew he had to come live with me. The folks at the shelter tried to warn me that he didn't "play well with others" and hated other dogs. He's a blue heeler, a breed I love, so I know that's not unusual for them. This dog has become my constant companion. He's at my side always when I'm working outside on the ranch, and he's very protective of our goats. He never barks, unless there's an intruder, then he does his "scary bark" that usually runs off whatever was lurking about. My nearest neighbor is more than a mile away, so this place is very remote and can be dangerous. I feel much more secure since adopting this "problem" doggy. He just needed the right home. I believe he would protect me with his very life, but I hope it never comes to that.
It never ceases to amaze me that the people STAY IN THE HOUSE. You couldn’t get me within a few miles of that house after the first time Joe had the encounter with the man in the red shirt
Nevermind after the first encounter with red Tee guy, as soon as I hear the words 'murdered on property', I'm outta there. Same goes with a car, a piece of clothing or a piece of furniture. My husband's cousin had a near miss with a car accident a few years back. When he took some photos for the insurance, he could make out the fuzzy outlines of a man with a bald head and goatee, a woman with shoulder length dark hair and a little girl with dark hair that sat in the middle of the backseat, looking at him in the photo. He showed the photos to me, asked me what I saw without telling me anything beforehand. I told him I saw a man, woman and child, then went on to describe the same details listed above. He was so relieved, because he thought he had just imagined it. Skip ahead a few days, he came back to me to tell me that the silver BMW he had been driving in had previous owners. Guess who? A man with a bald head and goatee, a woman and a little girl, all of whom had died in that car in an accident at the same intersection he had been driving in on the exact same date and time he had been there. He had found an article about it. There's a reason that some cultures would burn the most priced possessions of the deceased and it's not to have an impressive bonfire at the funeral. But yeah, if something like that happened to me, I'd be out there faster than you can say "the Flash".
Houdini pretty much did all he could to debate this type of nonsense. Although I'm wondering why the nonsense is making me very afraid at 4am listening to these stories at 4am??? I'd be horrified and run right out of that house! Actually I'm not sure I'd have been able to move, I'd be frozen in terror!! His own personal ghost story is terrifying too.
Never thought I'd be a "stayer" but I did. Until my animals were targeted. My dog had a couch chair tipped on her and she had 4 seizures. I left and never another seizure.
Shoutout to MrBallen. The only person on youtube who's got me listening to 20+ minute stories. Dude has struck gold with his amazing stories, and he's got the talent to speak them where you've just got to know what happened. Much respect & thank you for your service.
@@jamesh9174 how do we know the serial killer wasn't a demon that took on human form and now he has his victims from the physical world in his demon domain (that house) for eternity?
When you're in spirit form it takes a very large amount of energy to move something, like a pen. Without physical form, it would take a large amount of energy to do anything - imagine attempting to move something with just your mind. Maybe a person with an automatic writing gift could be utilized by a spirit in the way you're suggesting.
It takes a lot of energy for them to move ANYTHING, even appear. They cannot eat or sleep, they must draw energy from their environment. Somethimes that means us, which is why we can feel cold in the area when they appear and why our hairs stand up. It's them using us as a battery to communicate.
@@Whoami691 Do you think individuals could communicate more efficiently if an energy source was provided i.e. a generator or fully charged car battery? Or is it more so a draw on living things? It would be interesting to see a paranormal investigator try to offer energy to allow for fluid and concrete communication.
This farm is right down the street from my house. The current owners have sold off some of the front acreage and houses are being built; we all keep waiting for more bodies to pop up.
That’s too bad I kind of wish they would keep stuff like this around, Ik important people want to erase it and profit off the land or whatever but I think it’s important to preserve this kind of history
Has no one considered that Herb did kill a married man, they just haven't found the body yet? It is quite plausible, especially if he was in the closet.
I came to the same conclusion. If I owned that place, I imagine I would do everything I could to try and identify any unknown victims. Or at least I want to think that is what I'd do.
When you scroll down to the comments to see others' theories on what was going on in that murder funhouse, but all you can see are comments on how everyone loves John and his storytelling, it really says something. So uplifting to see so much appreciation and love for the channel and Mr. Ballen, absolutely deserved. (Still waiting for those theories, though!)
In a separate dimension, a ghost is talking to his ghost family... “Yo this dumb dumb challenged me again!” “Honey, I told you to stop haunting those humans.”
As far as the bone being newly discovered, it could be due to heavy rain. I always find broken pieces of ceramic and pottery in my pasture after it rains. Also gophers pushing and tunneling the dirt brings up a lot of stuff.
I’m not sure the vacuum cord flying out of the wall was paranormal. I’m really hoping it may have been an electrical issue because this has happened to me before! My cord had come out twice and I thought I was doing it so I watched it the third time and actually witnessed the cord shoot out of the socket. My husband saw it too. He just laughed and said it was me. Lightbulbs tend to burn out whenever I switch them on too.
Storytelling is an art, and you're an amazing artist! I love your content! No agenda, no opinions, just a good story. It's hard to find something peaceful like that on the internet anymore.
My Granpa was a master storyteller, he was a Nobleman in A TRUE SENSE but also with some insignificant title he never used but basically a fisherman and a peasant! But still heavily persecuted by communists so he had his own bag full of horrors throughout his life to carry and so he cautiously told it to me as a "spooky story" whose meaning I would understand one day! When he was terminally ill he was writing a notebook hinting what meant what! Reading those notebooks really saddened me, brought me back to my childhood and hardened my heart towards the Reds and all the strains of that disease once and for all! Not only did it bring me back to childhood but helped me to give 1000% of myself in the battle against the Big Red Dragon here in the next most brutal conflict in Europe after WW2 in the 90s! Mr.Ballen is an awesome guy and his storytelling reminds me a bit of that time when pure evil was walking all around you but you felt safe!
I found your channel about 2 weeks ago. Needless to say, my wife and I got hooked. Thought you might like to know that my wife loved your intro. She liked your body language into that. When you are explaining, the way you bow lower your head to the right and sweep your arms opened. She’s in! Frankly when I looked back I was drawn in too! The story’s alone are great. The motion draws in people. I told a few friends to watch and they agree. I’ll keep that in mind as I started a u-tube channel about drone flying. All and all great job and we wish to and your family all the best!
Lol! I'm still willing to go camping once in a while, scuba diving is out though, I'm terrified of whatever might be in the water, plus being totally submerged makes me incredibly uncomfortable.
I wonder why I listen to these in the middle of the night when everyone is asleep. Twice now the freezer has kicked on and I've almost jerked the headphones off my head trying to run away from whatever is going to get me. Also had a complete panic moment when the cat brushed against my leg.
I get terrified when the adverts come on in middle of the video or when my dog moves it made me sick to my stomach once and said I'm not watching anymore but then go on his channel and look for videos I haven't seen yet 🤨
One of his stories made me immediately throw up, it was that bad. It was the one about the 15 year old hitchhiking home. I love his stories and he did warn us but I listened anyway. I get it is scary and this one gave me the cold chills.
Omg, I can relate. Watch Ballen’s video that is his one and only true account of a paranormal incident that happened to him. It seriously freaked me out to the point where I couldn’t fall asleep for about 2 hours.

The street I used to live in was called whiskey hollow rd and it was pitch black at nights and there were 7 houses in the street but only 4 actually had people in em cause the other moved away cause they said that there was this horrifying feel at night and we moved when my dad actually saw a man by the creek right in front of my house and my dad drove off but the man was actually following the car but he wasn’t running my dad said he was actually taller than the truck and seemed to be floating so we move a week later and now everything feels normal
So very true! My husband had an accident at work and the property was something like berry patch hollow farms or something like that.Creepier now that I'm freaking out and paranoid
The most unbelievable part of the story is that Joe continued to stay there in the apartment on the property after all of this started happening. I hope the owners gave him a deep discount on rent. 👻 💵 🕵🏻♂️
That’s what I thought too! Seen as some haven’t been identified yet! Even if it’s all bullshit, that house would feel creepy as hell knowing a load of people were murdered there 😭😭💔
@Davin Bowyer Tapes aren't magic. It is just magenetic data storage. To suggest that can't be manipulated is a bit of a stretch. And of course you are not going to get anomalies in a studio. A studio is basically an audio lab designed to prevent exactly that. To suggest we understand everything in the universe and making blanket statements about such is also a stretch. Not to mention the laws of physics tell us things don't just stop at biological death. Everything that made us a person goes somewhere. It doesn't just vanish from existence.
I met him at the store he owned and shook hands with him. After what I experienced at that moment of touching him I never went back. When it came out about what he had done my husband and I knew that from then on we would trust my instincts and insight I got from people.
Who else is here because they've binged all of Mr Ballen's videos and are stuck watching older uploads regardless of the fact that he uploads strange, dark, and mysterious videos 2-3 times a week
It’s me I’m here cause of this reason ! I watch all of his videos immediately, so now I am trynna find videos I haven’t seen (which isn’t many if at all) lol
I don't think so ,because the killer did leave a note that he commit suicide because of his fail marriage!!! Then the spirit did play with knives!!! And pointing to the place where joe sit & doing his work!!!
Serial killers usually have patterns, if most of his victims were single then we might have to assume he had some sick thing for killing single dudes .
These stories usually don't scare me but OMG this one had me looking over my shoulder, I love it!! You're great at storytelling! I am also listening to this while I work and popped up the video just to take a look for a moment RIGHT at 12:42 and just about had a heart attack 😂 I was already creeped out and that just spooked me further!!
"The married one" may not be the killer, it could be another victim that was never found. By identifying himself as "the married one", he may have been trying to tell them that his case hasn't been solved and that's why his "ghost" is stuck there.
Yeah definitely. The other thought I had is that HB called himself the married one - because he thinks of himself as another victim. You know what I mean? Like malignant narcissists tend to do. Or on the paranormal tip, maybe he was possessed, or believed he was. Schizophrenia doesn’t make anyone violent - people who have it are LESS violent than the general population - but I wonder if it played a role in herb’s murders.

I was born and raised about an hour and half from Fox Hollow. This whole story is true and well known around that area. It is truly a creepy ass place! Great to hear the story, well done.
Definitely a haunting... these are the ones that wouldn't bother me as much after awhile though. At least in this case they knew why and they knew it was all human spirits. No one got physically attacked, only freaked out. At least it's not a full blown demon or something like in the story about the NASA engineer.

In the mid 80s til mid 90s I lived in Westfield IN , a stones throw from this property. And while working briefly in the advertising field I met Herb Baumeister to arrange advertising for his Indianapolis clothing resale business. He was quiet and his social cues odd but nothing scary. The 2nd half of this tragedy is the lack of closure for the families of these victims. Boxes of bones remain on the shelves in the Noblesville, IN Coroners office unidentified for decades. These are very affluent communities, Noblesville, Westfield and Carmel with outrageous property taxes. Most people in these communities believe there is a prejudice due to the fact the victims were sex-workers. I still have family in the area and follow this case. There have been promises by the recent new Coroner that action will be taken to priortize identifying these bones. We shall see.
I'm a paranormal investigator of 8 years and my team and I spent 4 days at Fox Hollow Farm a couple of years ago, courtesy of the gracious new owners Rob and Vicki. I've investigated at locations all over the US, including locations related to other serial killers like John Wayne Gacy, but this was by far the most fascinating! The evidence we caught was incredible. One of the most interesting aspects of the experience was that we got to work directly with one of Herb's former lovers (the "one who got away") who interacted with us throughout our stay and shared detailed information regarding their ongoing relationship, which was occurring at the same time Herb was killing his victims. Some of his stories about the killer were quite... interesting, as I'm sure you can imagine. We also met and investigated with the former tenant of the carriage house, Joe LeBlanc. I can't even begin to tell you what an amazing experience it all was. I'll never forget it. One EVP we caught while digging in the forest (where there are still unclaimed remains) was especially chill inducing. The owners are still finding victims' bones on occasion, even all these years later, and the strange paranormal activity has become a somewhat common occurrence for them. They did a "Haunted Case Files" episode about my team's first investigation there (I wasn't present for that one), but I've been interviewed on a paranormal podcast about our experiences during the 2018 trip. If anyone would like more info I'll post the links. To say it's a fascinating place would be an understatement. Spirits definitely still reside there and I hope in time they find peace.
Hey guys! Sorry for the delay, just now saw these replies. My team (Boulder County Paranormal Research Society -- BCPRS) has done two investigations of Fox Hollow. I was present for the 2nd one in 2018, but The Haunted Case Files episode covers my teammates' 1st investigation there (I'll link that below). We've been on a few other episodes for various investigations, but honestly the show takes a lot of creative liberties and makes it a bit cheesy, which I'm not a big fan of lol. So if you want more in-depth details on the crazy things we experienced on that 2nd trip, here is my two part interview on the show "Paranormal Round Table" (episodes 28 & 29). Part 1: ua-cam.com/video/NU2uRXYY6ac/v-deo.html Part 2: ua-cam.com/video/UFlS3nIqvnk/v-deo.html (this one is where it gets more interesting) PS -- Toward the end of episode 29 (part 2) I also discuss a horrifying personal encounter that my ex and I had one night in 2014 with a creature we can't explain. But the rest of the interview is all about Fox Hollow. And here is the Haunted Case Files episode. Again, I'm not featured in this particular one, but a couple of my teammates are. *Fast forward to the **13:20** mark for the right segment:* ua-cam.com/video/8iBxYhnJhvc/v-deo.html On a side note, our team leader (Richard Estep) is a prolific author and has a great book out about Fox Hollow. He's appeared on a plethora of shows like Paranormal 911, Haunted Hospitals, HCF, Coast-to-Coast AM, and others. He's been doing this for 20+ years at locations all over the world, so he's got some truly great stories if you're looking for new paranormal topics to binge. 😉 Here's his website: www.richardestep.net/ Cheers! 🙏
I don’t think it was Herb. Someone mentioned above the possibility that it could have been a married man who was in the closet and had just not been discovered yet. Herb wouldn’t be at his farm anyway, right? Because that’s not where he killed himself...
@@lorirunion8196 you do know that spirits are not always automatically trapped in the place they die, right? In fact, it depends on several factors as many go back to the place during life that they would rather be most after dying.
Imagine being lured and then your life is snuffed out .. and if that isn’t bad enough, you’re stuck with your killer in the afterlife. Hopefully the victims can eventually Rest In Peace ❤️
@@sophiagrace8362that's kind of rude, don't ya think ? What if it's just a friendly spirit of someone who lived there & just doesn't want to leave ? And SOME things won't just "go away" simply because you burn some sage.. sometimes you'll just make things worse
Herb was killing men he found while cruising before he got the huge house with large grounds. Herbs owning the extensive property simply let him to dispose of his victims bodies there so he could take his time destroying the bodies by burying, fire, etc... Before owning Fox Farm he was dumping bodies along a stretch of I-70 highway. The house gave him privacy, and a pool to conveniently kill and later dispose of his victims. Serial killers, as they get more comfortable with their killings, generally start disposing of bodies closer to home. Herbs huge wooded grounds became his own close at hand disposal land. In short, Herb was a depraved sick sadistic killer long before Fox Hollow came into the picture. It just allowed him more privacy and the freedom to do whatever he wanted to his victims, some prob for an extended period of time while his family was away for a few weeks, then easily dispose of them without having to risk getting caught dumping bodies off the highway.
there is an old hotel in my town that used to do this when i was a kid, there were always mannequins on the balconies. it was hella creepy and years later, it was uncovered that the owner was into some dark stuff, and my mom wouldnt tell me what. satanist type stuff apparently. to this day, that place creeps me out and its a residence now. still, creeps me out to drive past it
There was a home on our school bus route that had creepy mannequins on their screened in, front porch. They were dressed and posed for holidays. Never asked, never heard anything, and really don't want to know about that home.
It's not often you hear of people reacting like this to a haunting. Trying to figure who they are, and help them get closure. How wonderful is that. As always John, you had my total attention while telling this story. I could visualize everything through your word. Awesome!
His children must love story time with dad. Seriously fun! He should like let people rent him to tell camp fire stories. Big groups they pay for him and family to stay in a nice cabin and at night around a camp fire he tells stories be super fun!
Story well told as always. As for the reality of it, almost everywhere somebody died and the whole world should have been haunted if this is how it goes.
The old tv series “A Haunting” did an episode on the haunting of Fox Hollow Farm, more creepy and scary things happened to the new owners and you get a lot more of the details .
You should watch interviews with the Killer's wife. She describes their life together. Their long marriage. She did not know. There's even video clips of Christmas with his family. That's the fascinating part.
When looking to buy a house/property and it’s insanely cheap.... that’s a red flag. It’s time to deeply dive into its history before buying. Some states require deaths to be disclosed to prospective buyers. Sometimes it’s not always paranormal, some places have defects or other reasons to be cheap.

When I was stationed at Fort Ben Harrison in Indianapolis, I was a part of this investigation. Baumeister would troll the gay bars in and around Indianapolis for his victims. Some of the victims' remains were buried; however, some were simply discarded on the ground. On many occasions, Baumeister's wife would walk their dog on many of the surrounding trails. On occasion, she would see the remains but thought they were animal remains . . . or so she said. When we attempted to apprehend Baumeister, he took off with his two small kids. He went to a motel north of Indy where he subsequently committed suicide. Hell, who needs the trouble of a court of law or the decades of appeals? I never heard of the ghosts but I retired in 1998 and moved to Ohio.

When the knocker was perpendicular to the floor like someone was still holding it I got chills. Such great story telling

The conjuring house is still inhabited too
Exactly! I would have been like bye 👋 real fast.

It always baffles me, that ghosts can apparently only vaguely communicate with people. Like, grab a pen and paper and WRITE it out for me, please lol.
Right? Lol
Ikr? Just use w o r d s

With all the forensics nowadays they should definitely be identifiable
I must say, you sir have a serious talent for telling stories. I'm straight up addicted to your channel.
Drop that link.
Please put the link down
I believe it was an episode of Paranormal Round Table if I'm not mistaken. Loved hearing about it
What is the episode number
Part 1: ua-cam.com/video/NU2uRXYY6ac/v-deo.html
Part 2: ua-cam.com/video/UFlS3nIqvnk/v-deo.html (this one is where it gets more interesting)
PS -- Toward the end of episode 29 (part 2) I also discuss a horrifying personal encounter that my ex and I had one night in 2014 with a creature we can't explain. But the rest of the interview is all about Fox Hollow.
And here is the Haunted Case Files episode. Again, I'm not featured in this particular one, but a couple of my teammates are. *Fast forward to the **13:20** mark for the right segment:*
ua-cam.com/video/8iBxYhnJhvc/v-deo.html
On a side note, our team leader (Richard Estep) is a prolific author and has a great book out about Fox Hollow. He's appeared on a plethora of shows like Paranormal 911, Haunted Hospitals, HCF, Coast-to-Coast AM, and others. He's been doing this for 20+ years at locations all over the world, so he's got some truly great stories if you're looking for new paranormal topics to binge. 😉 Here's his website: www.richardestep.net/

The scary part of this is the idea that the victims ghosts are acting out their deaths, while Herb is still there too. So sad for those men.
I don’t think it was Herb. Someone mentioned above the possibility that it could have been a married man who was in the closet and had just not been discovered yet. Herb wouldn’t be at his farm anyway, right? Because that’s not where he killed himself...
@@lorirunion8196 Then I hope someone looks into him, His poor wife probably would like the closure.
Think of it this way. It means one day, he can die again for his crimes.
@@lorirunion8196 you do know that spirits are not always automatically trapped in the place they die, right? In fact, it depends on several factors as many go back to the place during life that they would rather be most after dying.

Family: *Buys a house where two dozen people have been murdered*
Also family: Does this house seem a bit haunted?
I have been binge watching these videos all week and this is the first one I've had to take pauses from because of getting too spooked.
I just love how he just talks about things that fascinate him and doesnt care about being demonetized
So did Herb’s actions cause the farm to be haunted, or did the haunted farm drive a schizophrenic man to murder?
Probs both
I was wondering the same thing
Thats a good question
he was more than likely doing satanic ritual and sacrificing his victims open portals to demonic realms
Look, mannequins anywhere other than a mall? That’s a sign to high-tail it out of there..
there is an old hotel in my town that used to do this when i was a kid, there were always mannequins on the balconies. it was hella creepy and years later, it was uncovered that the owner was into some dark stuff, and my mom wouldnt tell me what. satanist type stuff apparently. to this day, that place creeps me out and its a residence now. still, creeps me out to drive past it
