Which is something that Jesus himself taught, that "you will reap what you sow". Aka Karma. All religions point to the same thing. Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, Sufism, Christianity. They all point in a different way to the true Non-Dual truth of reality. Jesus Christ is not the only door to realizing this. If he helped you to Awaken to your own divinity, that's great. But to say that he's the only way, simply not true. Get off your high horse.
Been meditating for about 7 years on and off, I have found... Good things that help; Exercise and yoga Cold showers Good food Good sleep Structured bed times and getting up times No alcohol Brain storm head, write down on a pad all thoughts that are circling Things that don't help; Different sleep times Sex takes focus for 3 or 4 days after Bad food and sugar Negative behaviour Judgements Not accepting TV News In my experience 🙏
Russel you are a legend mate. Wonderful person. I remember the first time I saw you on TV in the UK many years ago and you were this outrageous person that was borderline insane on screen. I couldn't stop watching and I never even cared about Big Brother. Throughout the years I've noticed you transform into one of the best examples of a human being. If there was more Russel Brands the world would definitely be a much better place.
Meditation changed my life. Or rather it connected me back to that beautiful life force that's always been within. if you find it hard/boring, as Russell says, please persist - you've got this!!
Thank you. I am 61 and started meditation in January through Talking Therapies. Good days and bad days but your video helped me think it’s worth preservering with.
Meditate, meditate, meditate & keep meditating until you feel A Special Presence. There's no need to explain what this powerful presence is, because when you feel it, you will immediately know what I mean. It's A Love beyond all other Loves, It will be like no other Love you have ever felt before. Listen to your breath and let your breath fill the sails of your heart. Your in breath and out breath that will take you there. Once touched by this special experience, you will never be the same person that you were before. The work Russell's performing here is extremely important! And I fully support him in this heros journey. It's so much more important than philanthropy or any other sort of charity work, that there is no comparison between the two.

I've been meditating for nearly 3 years now, I stumbled upon it in hard times, illness and the eventual passing of both my parents, it helped get me through I believe and lead me to it's origins in Buddhism which I've loosely studied and firmly respect it as the way forward for humanity, even in some diluted form. As for meditation though, I know it works because if I don't meditate for a couple of days or so, I'm all over the place with a sense of total imbalance...so, get meditating people ! 🙏
Lately I’ve been having trouble connecting. I don’t feel like I’m being my best self. I’m struggling with patience towards others, which I’m usually told that I have the patience of a saint. I want to do better and not feel so off. I don’t have the motivation and haven’t meditated in a few weeks. I’m five months pregnant so that might be why my emotions are everywhere. Your brilliant words are very comforting and helpful, I truly appreciate you along with the many people who are apart of this community. You’re such a beautiful soul and thank you for using your large platform in such a positive and constructive way. 🙏🏽💖🧘🏽♀️🍃
@@leroilapue15 this! The UA-cam channel After Skool did an episode the other day about mass madness. I can't remember the name but it should be their most recent. It's similar to like the Salem witch trials or what happened in the cultural revolution where the entire community or region becomes psychotically irrational. It almost seems contagious. Good video!
Angela, don’t feel disheartened...I’ve had a strong meditation practice for almost 20 years...but these last couple of years I have struggled in an unprecedented way with the discipline and motivation...the world seems to be In flux everywhere right now!...am now trying to get back on the horse...slowly but surely...baby steps!... let’s do it together...we know it makes sense ✊😃
I learned from body language expert Greg Hartley that when we talk about the stress in our lives we become MORE stressed. I just watched you release stress and tension while you talked about it. I am so glad to hear we can steer in both directions! Thank you for being an endless fountain of wisdom.
1 minute meditation I awake again, I am again. And in this moment I relish in the breathtaking awe, Of all that I've touched, loved and saw. Repeat as necessary through out the day.

I started Transcendental Meditation via The David Lynch Foundation last September during lockdown and haven’t looked back. It’s subtle and organic in that the practice evolves and changes with you. I have noticed a decrease in stress, more ability to go with the flow, a levelness (if this is a word!) in my day to day life, and a deeper connection to the “now”. It’s a very subtle and gentle shift, which I find reassuring. I wouldn’t be without it!

one of the keys to "meditating" is to be in some kinda "life solving program"...what mysteries can you solve?...also toss out your TV, it's probably one of the biggest obstacles to free thinking that exists ...mostly in time wasting...also you need to exercise, it actually makes you smarter...contemplate that

I love how you use a kind and gentle tone to convey your advice on this channel, it gives a very personal touch. Not that I don't love your other channel also, but the difference is noticeable. Keep up the great work .. you're a gem ✨💎🤍
After I had an “spiritual” experience lost in the Oahu mountains on NS I had a transformation and healed my chronic pain and became someone anew. I have experienced meditation but not through desire. I just sat down and was able to access a different dimension but I abused this and as I went into desiring to meditate (use of mantras) with a goal I realized it actually was dulling my mind. I stopped doing the chants and such as I felt the change over time. I realized it was loosing meaning through repetition. Thanks to covid lockdowns, I’ve had all this time so I decided to observe my daily life and through this watching of self truth arises. That is just to sum it up. Real meditation is something one does constantly 24/7. It’s not a 5,15, or 30 minute thing where you sit quietly everyday and then go back to the chaotic self for the rest of the day. Besides that one creates conflict within themselves often saying “I must meditate this long” and says I am this but I want to be this. It’s really to build attention because without the ability to be in attention, nothing else will happen beyond that. Sorry for the long comment but this is truth that has taken me long to see because of my own conditioning. Perhaps it will help someone who has a deep perception ✌🏽
I have said that meditation takes place in every moment or activity that we engage in. Our intention of love guides the process. This came to me when I was harvesting my sprouts back in the 1980’s. A twice weekly routine, I was the energy that cleaned and packaged them all for delivery. 💕 I have also been a student of TM from the 1970’s. This may be life suggesting I sit down and repeat my mantra 🕉
I agree with your perspective. Once we "meditate" throughout the day, our thought process is different and we transfer that state into every activity we do. I wish you the best on your journey 🙏
@Darren My friend, first and foremost I want to say that although I don't agree with your point of view, I respect it. You've brought your arguments, and as I believe fair, I will also bring mine. First and foremost, all religions are based on scriptures that have been made by humans and manipulated by them dueing history. So any "ancient" source can be unreliable based on that fact. Even if they are all still pure, the people who truly practiced spirituality were not interested in collecting followers or taking anyone nowhere. If anything, spirituality is concerned in making us turn our awareness inwards and realize how we are all connected. If you do believe in Jesus and it brings you peace, then that's good for your journey; but I believe that your fatalist interpretation of reality might steem from conflicting sources. As for your arguments about Russell Brand, I don't "follow" him as my savior or something like that. I consider him a sort of friend whose opinion I like to listen to. My decision-making is mine alone, but it's important to listen to different perspectives, including the ones we don't agree or understand. I don't have any negative feelings towards you, nor do I want to upset you with my comments. Just wanted to clarify my position and hopefully have a respectful conversation that can nurture our understanding of each other. I wish the best for you, and I whole-heartedly believe that there's more than "the end of the world" going on. You just have to look past the problems of the world. Yes, there's death and missery, but also life and joy. That's how nature works, and we are part of that nature. So don't lose hope in the possibility of a better future. Don't give up on the present. There's still plenty left to do, if you are interested. Even if the world would end by the time I send this comment, I still think it's worth the try to communicate and try to connect each other. Don't you think it's reasonable? 😇🙏

I can’t say Satnam without hearing Snatam Kaur’s beautiful, lilting voice singing all around the space in my head 😁🥰 Your energy has changed so much Russell. I remember the days of being married to Katy.. I didn’t know much about you, only that you looked kinda wild and scary 😂 Now I sometimes sit in wonderment witnessing just how much more wholesome and balanced you’ve become. I have tried meditation many times but it’s felt more painful than anything and have given up. You inspire me to try again. I want what you have.
They say it feels hardest when you need it the most. It gets easier over time. Meditation is great in that you dont have to succeed. You cant fail either. Just gently do it. 🙂
Susan S - I have the same problem with meditation. More painful than not. Im sure i am painful to be around, most times. Which of these meditations Russell mentions do you find most available to you?
@@janetwhite7786 I think I have discovered something recently… I’ve been listening to info about the right and left side of the brain. Apparently the left side is the analytical side and the right side is the intuitive side. I think when I try to meditate I’m always sitting in the analytical side. It never shuts the hell up. So I started planting myself in the right side of my brain and it’s so calm and quiet there. The analytical side is so overdeveloped it just takes over all the time and I had no way of differentiating it. I think the idea is to bring the two together into one brain. Right now I’m just trying to build up the right side and anyway it’s so much nicer there. I’m not doing any of Russels meditations I’m doing this one ua-cam.com/video/k48_wUDBcsQ/v-deo.html
@@suzeca-22 I know exactly whereof you speak. The bridge to the right side of my brain is tenuous at best. Sommetimes i think i cd cut off my left hand and not miss it. I also notice the "cool" ppl, the creative types - left handed. Certainly artists. Not that right handed cant be good artists (im talking the brush arts) but if a person is left handed they certainly seem to have an advantage. Factor in that the "cool" ppl seem to congregate on the left politically. This paints a picture (no pun intended) that i wish it didnt paint but there it is. Its obvious why young ppl gravitate to leftist causes and left in general. There i go, being analytical. Just as you were talking about. Thanks for the response. 👍
@@janetwhite7786 I found my right side was alive and well but it never had a voice because I didn’t see it. The left side took up all the atmosphere. The dark entities did that to us… forcing us to stay in survival mode, turning our society into a slave society, forcing their way on us. They think we are stupid and brain dead 😠 Sometimes it does seem like we are half asleep and can’t think for ourselves. But I think it’s because our power has been taken from us.. And we have been kept as children. No more. I am trying to wake myself up… and no more being a slave. Hence the meditation 😁 I’m trying anything. Plus it’s the first one I’ve done that’s felt like it raised my vibration after I was done. Most of the guided meditations I’ve done irritate me. I’m sitting there thinking…”get the hell out of my head it’s already too crowded”…lol
i studied chi gong 20 years ago and introduced to meditation at the same time , and as i know the positives its brought to me , for me it took 3 months asking what is truly needed , i was finally answered from myself and my energies this as helped me for direction through some really touch times .... :). and now for the last 2 years ive meditated almost every day and , Russ its so much more apparent to me now and through these strange times - that its settled and given me a more focused more in touch with other peoples energies and attitudes :) i wanted to say thanks for opening to other meditation practice , think we start to see nature come to us :)b eautiful bro and thanks x

I started meditating a week ago every morning. I’m a very calm and collected person most of the time and I walk dogs for a living and I believe I’m meditating all day while walking in nature. So far actual sitting meditation has been quite easy and enjoyable for me. But it was your video on How To Meditate that was my guide and think of it before I go to my chair in my garden. Thank you, Russell. You are truly helping many people mentally, spiritually, and bringing us truth. I hope you see comments like this and really take them to heart ❤️

Beautiful Rustbuckaroo. I began meditating as a christian kid praying every night for safety for my family from violence and anger, praying for support at school esp. for mathematics and oral speech n public ie in front of the class. I did more when I trained in wing chun kung fu and have since learned to still my mind in the middle of a noisy day until I hear nothing...alongside my prayers of assurance reassurance freedom from feeling guilty for no reason and thanking our father in heaven for every wonderful day as every day is a day of completion as miracle shall follow miracle and wonders will never cease and that whether they be good or bad every person and circumstance is a golden link in the chain of my success and prosperity amen.
You put me to shake Russell..I am very lucky that I can reach a very deep.meditative state really quite easily ( I did yoga & meditation daily from the age of 14-35) and the thing that's blocking me is being in chronic pain from MS& Lupus..It doesn't matter how hard I try to switch the ' pain signal' off ..it's just ' there' I.have even ground down my teeth severely because the pain is always switched on a an in my sleep..I' m 54 & know I need a good kick up the @rse to get back into .y daily meditation a day ,there's no excuse..just got to put it into practice .Much love to you and your lovely family..so great to see you living in such a female lead household :) xx

NGL Russell I was never a fan of yours. So it was a big surprise to get one of your YT videos in my suggestions a few weeks ago, and Cor Blimey, Guv it was exactly what I needed!. Sometimes those algos really work. Since then I have watched several of your "Awakening" YTs. Long story short, after years of depression, M.E. alcohol abuse, bereavement and myriad more crap, using the techniques you suggested have given me my first experience of feeling almost-a-bit normal which is, for me, incredible. Seriously incredible. So I just had to thank you. Subscribed. :))

For me the most important think is that I am meditating with a person. It didn't really work for me until I read St. Theresa of Avila. It has been wonderful. It took about 9 months until it was fantastic. But each day the peace was coming that was amazing and then in about 9 months, I met Jesus in an unbelievable way.

Hey Russel. Without sounding a bit pernicaty.... Vippasana isn't centered on breathing. Annapana meditation is. Annapana is about concentration on the flow of breath through the nostrils. Annapana is key to practicing Vippasana.

Yeah… pushing or trying to force results is in opposition to the feeling and affect of meditation. It’s more like feeling in good posture in relaxed surrender until the breeze of connection blows through… at the beginning. Much more to it… but also much less than that. I practice guided, zen, and trance… and other types… like trying kundalini with Russell as a matter of fact. Most group meditation I’ve done I have found to be strengthening. I started about 20 years ago. Namaste and Gracias.
Lost my way by buying property at 58yo.. always thought it slavery and it truly seems so still..I do remember my favorite meditation s is simply plugging my ears and breathing...I do so enjoy the vibration of chat with ears plugged...seems to vibrate the insides...made my own ways...tried all you tried via restrictive meditation that others say works...my favorite is plugging my ears...listen to my breath from the inside..on my back..relaxed..and singing a simple song I sang to my kids when young..."you are my sunshine, my only sunshine, you make me happy when skies are grey, you'll never know love how much I love you, don't take my sunshine away"...vibrates my body from the inside... simplicity works for me ..if happy, makes me more of that..if sad, sometimes, I cry in a release of sorts....I'm thinking I should or could do it daily..still waiting for answers from creator..lol..xoxo
Slow down. See more 😉 Sil Nim Tao is a form of dynamic tension meditation. It should be practiced daily for about 20 mins. I’ve been practicing the discipline for over thirty years. It’s the toughest part of my day. It’s rewarding on many levels. Nice video, mate 👍👍👍

thanks Russell - I just watched your joint video with David Lynch on Meditation - the proceeds of the event would provide "Mediation for Free" to disadvantaged women - I first attended a TM advocacy meeting back in the early 1970s at which time I was told I could learn to meditate but would need to be given a unique "word" which would be my personal Mantra - a donation would be required equal to one month of my income - my income was low therefore the donation was 'low' but more than I could afford - my loss I guess - I remain suspicious of TM but have enjoyed the occasional hour of silent prayer at venues such as Quaker meetings

Meditation will not work for everyone and can even become dangerous for some, it can create more mental anguish. There are other paths in yoga/spirituality, this is why it is important to find a teacher. Devotion can become a useful tool, it doesn't matter which deity or god, but it is an aide to concentrate the mind & some might find it in service to others by helping those in need.
Could I meditate through song? - I used to pray singing on the guitar. I also feel like listening to music is a kind of meditation. But I should give actual meditation a go I guess. Thank you Russell for sharing your wisdom. Really need this right now. Super trying to sort my life out.

God has a Justice System. It's called KARMA.
@Darren In John 8:7 Jesus says "let he who is without sin cast the first stone."
Been meditating for about 7 years on and off, I have found...
Good things that help;
Exercise and yoga
Cold showers
Good food
Good sleep
Structured bed times and getting up times
No alcohol
Brain storm head, write down on a pad all thoughts that are circling
Things that don't help;
Different sleep times
Sex takes focus for 3 or 4 days after
Bad food and sugar
Negative behaviour
Judgements
Not accepting

I see you take cold showers. The wim hof breathing method is also very good.
@Darren wow that's so insightful I never thought of any of that
@Darren to be honest your no different to him, you sound bitter twisted and insecure, I would focus on my own behaviour and keep my opinions to myself
Two years going everyday but about 5 or 6 when I heard George Harrison talking about it. It’s made me a better human for all the other humans!!
beautifully perfect
Twice daily meditation brings a big sense of serendipity to my life. It’s the discipline I have the problem with.
I hope Russel gets as many subscribers to this channel as he does to his other.
Will help the planet.

Can I just like this 10,000 times? What a wonderful description of meditation and all its benefits.

Its hard to be normal right now when the world has lost its damn mind

I loved hearing Russells cat; it added to my sense of joy
I just sit from time to time, but I also just mow my lawn (i.e. walking meditation). 🙏
Wow!! Thanks a lot

Oh Russell, i love the refreshing, relaxing and spiritual 10 minutes everytime again!
Subscribed. :))

Boy did i judge before coz my ego knows better lol... !!! Youre connected fully and have just brought me with you. I thank you from the bottom of my heart. 🙏💙
I use solfeggio frequency, it gives you a hum to focus on, but it does not distract
How do access them? I have heard that UA-cam does not play true 432hz frequencies for guitar tuning as well as the Solfeggio frequencies 174hz, 285hz, 396hz, 417hz, 528hz, 639hz, 741hz, 852hz, 963hz because of how the video data is compressed and rebroadcasted in their format? Please let me know if I am repeating misinformation, as I don't want to be doing that :)
Thanks Russell. Very good. I especially liked the input from Eckhart re. awareness of space, and how we are objectifying ourselves really!
Your giving a gift that I have been hunting for a long time, I had it as a child?. I am finding now that I was already on this path but unable to be aware of it. I was always given the heave ho when it came to these matters. My path is similar to yours and I can relate to you so this is a gift. thank you from my heart.

Lost my way by buying property at 58yo.. always thought it slavery and it truly seems so still..I do remember my favorite meditation s is simply plugging my ears and breathing...I do so enjoy the vibration of chat with ears plugged...seems to vibrate the insides...made my own ways...tried all you tried via restrictive meditation that others say works...my favorite is plugging my ears...listen to my breath from the inside..on my back..relaxed..and singing a simple song I sang to my kids when young..."you are my sunshine, my only sunshine, you make me happy when skies are grey, you'll never know love how much I love you, don't take my sunshine away"...vibrates my body from the inside... simplicity works for me
..if happy, makes me more of that..if sad, sometimes, I cry in a release of sorts....I'm thinking I should or could do it daily..still waiting for answers from creator..lol..xoxo
Slow down. See more 😉

thanks Russell - I just watched your joint video with David Lynch on Meditation - the proceeds of the event would provide "Mediation for Free" to disadvantaged women - I first attended a TM advocacy meeting back in the early 1970s at which time I was told I could learn to meditate but would need to be given a unique "word" which would be my personal Mantra - a donation would be required equal to one month of my income - my income was low therefore the donation was 'low' but more than I could afford - my loss I guess - I remain suspicious of TM but have enjoyed the occasional hour of silent prayer at venues such as Quaker meetings

Thanks ❤️🙏

*I STARTED MEDITATING 2 MONTHS AGO* I don't know how I lived my life before meditation.
Thats not a soppy "I've found spiritual awakening" thing. Its that is has become a REALLY fundamental part of my life that I kinda find it hard to think that there WAS a before time.

I think I've not truly understood meditation until I watched this video. I'm challenging myself to make this habit my own. Thank you!
Mr. Brand, who taught you transcendental meditation? Did you learn from Maharishi Mahesh Yogi? I learn at the Maharishi University in Iowa.

i have practiced Shamanism for the past 10+ years, and if you want to, i wouldnt mind sharing some methods with you as well.

i do also have questions about your experience with kundalini yoga
