I can attest to this. I skateboarded all summer last summer to get ready for the season. Then when it rolled around I landed my first indy, my first 180 AND conquered about half of the double blacks my resort has. If nothing else during the summer, LEARN TO SKATE! lol
And skateboarding is as addicting as snowboarding, I popped my shoulder out of socket the other day and I’m already trying to get back out on my board.
Going to Austria on my first snowboard vacation and I’m som hyped for it! Luckiley I have been skateboarding for years so I hope to pick something up from that and transfer some of it to snowboarding
I’m from Minnesota, and skateboarding is almost as addicting as snowboarding. I just popped my shoulder out of socket from a skateboarding accident the other day and I’m already trying to get back out on my skateboard.
Siiick I’m from Minnesota one thing I do that really helps on rails and balance overall is standing and jumping onto an exercise ball and yeah skateboarding is way harder but it’s really fun and it really teaches you to persevere when learning new tricks along with all the physical bonuses with goofy and Ollies and whatnot
I picked up skateboarding to cross train this year. I agree it’s 10x as hard as snowboarding. You can tell the movements are the same but less forgiving. Im really loving how I can ride switch in the off season. Goofy won’t be feeling so goofy anymore.
I've been addicted to the gym since I was young and played on skateboards I feel like average growing up as a kid in the 90s. Got into snowboarding at 30 and noticed that I progressed way faster than my peers learning it.
im from ohio so i picked up skateboarding years before snowboarding but from the very first time on the slopes i could tell i had a HUGE advantage over my non skater friends...im lacking in air awareness massively tho cuz i always skate ledges so im gonna hop on some trampolines now
can you tell us your opinion about Ripstiks !?? I would like to practice in the summer to better prepare for the season because I am a beginner. I was only 3 days with the instructor on the snow because the weather conditions were desperate. thank you
im from california, another "ultimate hack" I found was skimboarding. Since a skimboard has no wheels or fins like a skate/surfboard, you have to rely on your rails just like in snowboarding
Picking up the snow board was a weird experience for me I know how to use flow rider stand up board and I have skateboarded before. Though I live in Texas so idk if I should make snowboarding one of my sports.
I think that those are really good but you should have mentioned mountainboarding that is basically snowboarding in land. I visit Colorado once a year to visit my uncle and I have become addicted to snowboarding so to prepare myself for the next trip I mountainboarding and it’s as fun as snowboarding but the 2 bad things are that there aren’t any resorts for the sport and if you fall and beat the shit out of you.
Hi there, I’m new to snowboarding and never gone at all. I am good at riding my skateboard and good at surfing. I have a trip coming up soon. Any other tips?
What about longboarding? Not so much for tricks but just intermediate off-season. I live in Texas so I'm definitely forced into always off-season training.
I'm going to be snowboarding for the first time in a few months but I can already: do flips ✔️ skateboard: ✔️ carve on a longboard down big hills: ✔️ and touch my toes: ✔️. Snowboarding has always looked so cool on TV as a kid, but I never got to try it while living here in Alabama. At 25 I'll finally get to see if I'm any good or will face plant every time trying to stop. I'm hoping my skateboarding experience will translate over to snowboarding smoothly.
The reason so many good riders come from the midwest are the rope tows! Can get more park laps in an hour here than you would in a full day out west.

exact same thing happened to me, skating works wonders and helps with that missing feeling of snowboarding in the off season😁

skateboarding and snowboarding make me forget anything that is bothering me. Its awesome fun

Well I need to try skateboarding too

Definitely, it's addicting. Especially if you do it everyday. Hope the shoulder is healing up ok
me too!
Minneap represent 🤘
Oh 100%. I mean, Minnie is it’s own level on Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater! LoL
I went from skateboarding to snowboarding and live in BC near the mountains, i practice 24/7 like this by doing skateboarding and snowboarding!
I’m gonna use that first style of training for snowboarding and skating that’s actually so useful

one of the skateboard clips is from my city! sick!!!
lol i skateboard goofy and snowboard regular and i cannot figure out why one does not translate to the other at all for me
I have three friends like this, in addition to a number of pros who do the same. Off the top of my head Jussi Oksanen. You guys are all weird 😜
Yup same!!!
Same for me
It Does
Same
#6 - freebording!! Your downhill skills will progress possibly more than by actually snowboarding.
can't believe a clip from my local basketball court made it here!!! (4:27) keep up the stokey work ed :)

Gotta get relaxed. I use CBD from 4 Corners Cannabis like a lot of the pros do.
These videos help everyone learn in different time.

Nice! That's a good one for shredders with beach access. I used to skim at the Jersey shore once a year growing up
Where is the mini off season bord from i wanna buy it
Where can I get the off season training board?
getting an shred school ad on an edshreds vid

Number 6.. buy a onewheel 👌🏽🤙🏽
Thanks.
I do the skateboarding thing but I ride the opposite stance so idk.
what is happening with the subtitles

Longboarding is great practice
@@ShredSchool1 Dope! Thanks! Would riding switch there also translate to the snow?
Yeah definitely. Not a direct translation because you don't have edges but it will make you more comfortable riding that direction for sure
@@ShredSchool1 thanks man. What's your home resort?
Thanks I'm gonna start doing jib training and some skateing 👍
"skateboarding is 10 times harder than snowboarding"
me, skateboarder, suddenly billionaire snowboarder
I’m a ex semi pro skater but still can’t get around shredding on snow way is that
How many days have you spent on snow?
