The girth, that's the girth I'm talking about. Ok.
But is that enough? Is it enough to be made of buttersoft leather? How does the girth actually FIT onto a horse? And does it WORK? Does it GAPE at the front? Does it distribute the pressure nicely? Does my horse love it? Hate it?
I take a look at the girth, try it on my horse, ride in it... and then let you know what I think about the LeMieux Gel-Tek Girth.
In this video I am using the 'Mono' version which has the little clippy thing on it for martingales. It also comes in the dressage version as a short girth, which is identical, just no clippy thing.
Plus there is a long version... but that is (obviously) different... and this review is all about the short one. Suitable for dressage saddles, monoflaps... and other saddles with long straps and short girths.

Are there elastics on both sides?

Love your videos! I've watched through all your vidoes on Bates and Wintec saddles. Would love to know your thoughts on the Arena brand saddles as well. I'm really interested in the idea of air panels like the CAIR/HART system, and want to know if there are any other brands out there with similar technology and how it all compares. opinion on the lemieux integrated web & merino short girth, i would get the gel tek but i do prefer the straightness of the other one but i do not know which one is better.
How is Stuebben coolmax anatomical girth
Please can you show us how to measure for the correct size of this girth, I want to try it for my cob but can't use length of current dressage girth bcos there's way too much bare strap
Does it have elastic on both ends or fixed? My saddle fitter recommended elastic ( I ride trail ) thoughts ?

The short girth shown here does not have elastic on either side, but the long version has elastic on both sides :)
I love these girths but sadly they don't make them small enough for my two horses....I have asked Le Mieux about this and they said it was something they may consider but over a year later and they still don't do the equivalent of a 42 or 44"" which is a pity
If you didn't have this *amazing* girth, what, if anything, is nearly as good? Any other brand that's on par?
