fun fact, we had no idea this was dropping. we got a mysterious "d-7" picture on twitter with no context at all. it was a countdown and every day was just mass confusion. some smart armys said an album would drop on d-2 as suga's second mixtape after agust D but this was a complete guess. i got up at 2am (with a ton of armys) cuz that's when stuff would drop back then just hoping something would drop and we got the daechwita mv... with the whole album. i listened to it for the first time at 2am after being awake for 5 min lol ill never forget that. its an incredible album
In the words of suga himself 'I never dissed anyone specifically. If someone feels targeted, then it’s their problem'🤭. Also fun fact he was a lil tipsy when he shot the daechwita mv.
Man, I love you for spoting Jin and Jungkook, hardly anyone notices or doesn't know them when watching the MV of Daechwita 😭 ngl, the first couple of times I listened to Daechwita, I didn't pay much attention to the lyrics and got carried away by the sound of the traditional instruments, and that makes me even more excited knowing that 해금 (Haegeum, D-Day) will have a similar sound and probably the continuation of this story line!
I'm always shook when new Army notice their first watch, because I'm a late YNWA Army (Mid 2017) and I didn't notice because I was too Overwhelmed by Yoongi being Yoongi 😅
you have no idea how crazy it was when d-2 dropped 😭 so many kpop fans were pissed about the disses despite yoongi not dropping any names at all, too many cinderellas around lmao as they say if the shoe fits...
Moonlight is so good I never get tired of this song, for real, it's been almost 3 years and it is still at the top of all my playlists. Can't wait to see it live.
"if you feel like you're going to crash then accelerate harder you idiot" - the line is originally from a bts song (nevermind, the word Jimin has tattooed on him) which is such a powerful song and makes the verse hit that much harder in moonlight.
The amount of insulted kpop fans despite no one being namedrop by agust d was hilarious when this came out 😂 Yoongi: talentless ugly losers Y’all: yo what TF u just say about Bobby?
ugh the way he released D2 out of nowhere got ARMY twt in panic but at the same time just sooooo Min Yoongi. gahd I love this album. I’m OT7 forever but D2 solidified Min Yoongi as my bias.
I have to be honest, I stopped watching DKDTV awhile ago after some of their weird comments about BTS so I never saw this explanation for Daechwita. Super interesting getting some additional historical references. I think I watched Bookish Theories' explanation instead. OMG when you get to Yoongi's Interlude: Shadow, I really hope you watch Bookish Theories' explanation on it!!
0:25 "the last suga mixtape wrapped his arm around my neck and said shut up" 😆😆😆 that's exactly what yoongi does with his... Everything i guess lmao And so true about dwelling into Suga's mind. When i heard it 3 years ago (wtf how it's been that long?) And read the lyrics, i really felt like i read his diary or smth. Like am i allowed to see this 😂
Lol none of army were ready for this. He dropped it 2 days before we were expecting. Yoongi likes to create chaos & watch our reactions. He did the same for his Tour announcement - he came Live on Valentine’s Day & feigned missing army just to wait & see our reaction in real-time before dipping. This album is so good. So emotional
Another way the Daechwita music video is most commonly interpreted, which makes more sense in connection to the Agust D mixtape and also the later Haegeum MV, is Yoongi rising up to kill the tyrannical, corrupted version of himself controlled by greed and hatred. Notice that the King has blonde hair - this is a direct reference to the blonde-haired 2016 Agust D, who was so full of anger at the world that he lost sight of what was important. This becomes a repeated cycle throughout the Agust D storyline, of killing the version of himself that has become polluted by power and purging himself of his demons, only to become that very thing he sought to kill. This is the most popular interpretation and the one that Yoongi himself has spoken about!
Loved this! Was a whole vibe. 😂 I know folks like to recommend the DKDKTV explanation videos but honestly I prefer the BOOKISH THEORIES explanation video for the Daechwita MV more as it aligns more w SUGA's intent AND includes clips of the D2 bangtan bomb interview itself in it. The DKDKTV interpretation was inaccurate on some things. Just FYI. 😅 (I think its good to explore several interpretations as songs/lyrics/etc can be taken several ways.) 💜
Loved that you noticed the little Jinkook squabble 🤣 it was a nice little touch! This song really made my appreciation for Yoongi SKYROCKET. His mumble rap is 👌
D-2 is one of my all time favorite albums. I hold “28” so close to my heart. He did such an amazing job on each of the songs. I’m so excited to see him perform some of these songs live for the first time on his tour 🤩 He mentioned in a clip that’s in his upcoming documentary that he actually received an acting script because of the Daechwita MV 🤣
HE NOTICED JIN AND JK IN DAECHWITA AT HIS FIRST REACTION 😭 even I didn't notice Jin and Jk when I first saw the MV. THIS MAN IS MORE BORA BLOODED THAN ME WTF
I love Moonlight so hard.... just the casual way he drops into the song to introduce the album, like, "oh, right, time for another album... I guess we're doing this!" I'll add that another common interpretation for Daechwita's two characters-- King Yoongi and Rebel Yoongi-- is that the King represents his "monster ambition," the aspect of him that just wants to gorge on that forbidden fruit and climb that ladder of success, no matter who gets hurt or how much he doesn't actually *want* the spotlight, while the Rebel is older, wiser, more even-keeled Yoongi who has achieved all his youthful dreams and now just wants to set his feet on the ground again. And even though King Yoongi thinks he holds the other captive, with the help of BTS and the support of ARMY, Rebel Yoongi is able to outsmart the insane King and put him down for good.
In many ways Yoongi has No Chill. He will call you out and read your for freaking filth in his music and honestly I’m here for it. D2 levels up from D1 so much. But his beats and abilities as a producer are just so far above 😂 and he knows it. With his rap abilities in top it’s crazy. Moonlight is one of my top favorites for so many reasons especially when I’m in a rut. Daechwita is a work of pure genius, how he used traditional Korean instruments with a trap beat is crazy creative and his story telling is top tier. It’s funny how for like 6 years or more the media and other companies tried to make a big deal that BTs would weasel out of enlisting and here he lays it out “nope shut up don’t use our names yes we are enlisting”.
I don't think the hyunta was ONLY about flexing though, it's not been easy on BTS. Fame has a lot that comes with it, and he's been really struggling with it for a while since 2017. It was both a flex and a reflection that hey, this isn't it, I don't feel great cause dreaming doesn't make sense anymore, I wanna be more grounded now. He's talked about it since then too.
27:10 idol music is what the west calls kpop music btw - idol music is not seen as "real" music with substance in Korea - until BTS entered the scene. suga and rm both went through a major identity crisis early on because of being shoved into that disparaging box as people who are very serious about music. it happened to them in Korea by being referred to as idols instead of artists and in the west by being generalized under common kpop stereotypes (fake, fabricated, cheap, exploited etc) instead of just being put into the general categories (kpop instead of pop/ hiphop ) with their western peers
Oh Tribe, I am loving your journey into OT7 dive. No one is prepared for Yoongi, he somehow finds ways to get us. We had no idea this was dropping btw. This banger album was a surprise drop! We all lost our mind. PS. Congratulation for spotting Jin and Jungkook in the mv first watch! So many people missed them
Yay, thank you Jonathan! So excited for this reaction!💜 Yoongi has said that the King is the Agust D from his first Mixtape and the Boss Agust D is his present him(2020 Agust D). I think the King is his anger, greed, ambition etc. and as one of the lyrics talk about having a reality check and now putting his feel on the ground, I feel like now that he's reached such heights he wants to focus more on himself as a person. P.s, I prefer Bookish Theories explanations better then DKDKTV's. I hope you check out her videos some time.
Ok tribe leader you are now one of my top reactors and now a baby army you graduated from infancy 😂 you confirmed this when you recognized Jin also btw that was indeed jk with him (doing their friendly brotherly fights) 😅
one of my favourite things about this album is how raw the recording is ie. In people, if you listen with earphones in you can hear the little whistles from his nose when he breathes in between verses. Idk it’s a small detail but makes me appreciate his producing/recording work!
I love that you don't want random people to tell you what the album is about (I didn't even agree with some of the ways Danny Kim interpreted some lines, though I agreed with most of his interpretationsand im extremely grateful for all the historical references he shared) You're like me! I've said it before, but I think you're doing things the right way, listening to the whole album and enjoying for yourself💜😅
Honestly you being chaotic in those videos and sharing your thoughts about things seems so genuine. That’s why people love to watch your videos. Also there’s no bad vibes whenever I come across your channel. Love your content!!
5:00 the line "if you feel like you're going to crash then accelerate more/harder, you idiot" is from his track called "Nevermind" from bts's hyyh (part 2) album released in 2015. Im late here so I'm not sure if you have reacted to this song yet but it's a very special song that touched home to a lot of ppl
Omg you're reactions are top notch, I get so excited watching them, you are always spot on, thank you from the bottom of my heart for giving them a chance and actually getting involved ❤💜🫰
19:05 you can't overstate what power the big entertainment corporations in korea had and have btw. it's different from the US in that the corruption is way more extreme. the big three labels have corrupt connections to media and politics and small artists like bts got regularly taken out when they started to grow over their station. bts was heavily attacked and sabotaged too. scnadalous stories were masde up and planted in media, internet trolls were bought to slander them, during music shows they were made to change in the hall in front of the toilets while big three idols got dressing rooms and laughed at them. their perfromances cut and canceled last minute, SM even tried to buy bts to disband them when they started to outgrow SMs own boygroup Exo. Bang PD refused despite being broke and saved them
I enjoy the "explained" videos (from any creator) as a source for general cultural and language references, but out of that, anything else is often just an opinion, and sometimes it even is different from what the guys said about their work
"If you can't find internal peace now, what makes you think when you reach that ideal anything internal peace will be waiting for you there." It's so fxcking right!!!!!!
When in "What do you think?" he ends the songs by saying this song is the last gift for the haters, like he is done talking about this😅 Yoongi has all the bragging rights 😤
Next one please 👉🏼👈🏼 😂 I know this was only released 11 hours ago but I NEED the next part in my life now….. please…. 🥴💜 love your reactions so much 💜💜💜
that line in What Do You Think? about how people “tried to get a free ride [exemption from military service] by selling [BTS’] names” is a direct reference to the conference that took place in 2019, when BTS were reaching their peak in the West, where several of the CEOs of the biggest kpop companies met *without inviting BTS’ company* to ask the government if idols that reached a certain level of success could skip military service (as with some Korean athletes), and used BTS’ success as collateral despite the fact that BTS weren’t even represented and the other kpop acts hadn’t even come close to BTS’ success. In the end the government granted an extension to 30 years old (instead of 28) for the cutoff for military service for very successful idols that represented Korean culture internationally, but the conditions of “success” meant that only BTS could qualify LMAO (and to this day, no other kpop acts have qualified, thus gaining the law the nickname “BTS law”)
Even though that explanation video gives very interesting details, I don't like it much as a whole, I think it over interprets. Besides the references and symbolism, when you understand what they mean, they actually unlock directly the meaning of Yoongi's textual words. I don't think this is so much about BTS and Army as it is about him facing himself. Yoongi said in a live after the release that the blonde Agust D was also called "anger". This is more about his own desire for revenge or for karma towards those who wronged him and made him suffer so much. Blonde Agust D let it all out in D-1 and partly in D-2, but here already comes black-haired Agust D who rebels against his own path, which would lead him to madness, by killing his anger. Btw, no one knows if blonde Agust D is dead, and we will find out about it in this last Agust D album, D-Day 😁 edit: typos corrected ehe
You have no idea how mad kpop fan when this mixtape drop and got defensive about their fave,Agust D didn't name drop anyone in any songs,he said "if you got offended by my music then it's your problem" 😂😂😂 he said he set up trap on his songs, then proceed call his haters "cockroaches" 😭😭😭
You are the best! I appreciate your grind, your heart, and your gift! You’re an amazing talent with sooo much success ahead of you. Keep up the great work… You have an A.R.M.Y. behind you💜💜💜
If you ever get time to delve into bangtan's history, it would be very easy to understand what or which incidents yoongi is referring to in each of his verses. And ngl , knowing all that makes the songs hit harder than ever. Also I love your reactions, i get to re-discover and experience my baby army days again through you. Thankyou so much for being so genuine towards their music, appreciate you a lot 💜
d2 had people fighting for their life ,haters were screaming crying throwing up , d2 will always be legendary i will be never forget daechwita agust d can't wait for the tour we are about to witness this masterpiece live😭😭
I love that u already noticed jin&jk in daecwhita in first round, while i just noticed them after someone point it out and i was even much older army compare to u back then💜💜💜
D-2 is a masterpiece. I still listen to it almost daily. Moonlight is my favorite track from it. I can't wait to see him on his tour. Was lucky enough to snag a couple of seats!
I LOVE your journey with BTS. I want to mention, in ‘what do you think’, Suga says “we’ll go serve in the military when the time comes. I hope all those bastards who tried to get a free ride by selling our names shut their mouths up”. There’s a backstory to this. After BTS’s success, everyone (their haters and k-media) started questioning/pointing at them that why aren’t they going to the military already (In Korea, it’s mandatory for men before 30s to complete 2 years of military training). Some even said that they are getting a free pass from the government because of their success and using their name as an “excuse” to not go in military. So Suga comes back at them in this song saying they will surely go to the military when it’s their turn (and see, they are going now). Some artists from big companies tried to use BTS’s name that if they won’t go, we won’t too (not this directly, but you get what i mean). So Suga says that those who are trying to get a “free ride by selling our names” to not go to the military, please stfu. Quite literally. He really IS a genius, if you ask me,
They way you instantly recognise jin and jk is so surprising to me because their are so many reactors who don't recognise them even though they listening bts for year 😂😂😂
I know a lot of Army recommend DKDKTV but beware that they have straight up admitted to making some stuff up for their explanation videos, and they also ignored the BTS members own words and explanation of their own music.
The utter shock and excitement when you see the next song is a ft. RM is so relatable😂😂 i mean, we all fully aware that they are literally in the the same team, but we still always so shock when we see them collabing in an individual project

that line in What Do You Think? about how people “tried to get a free ride [exemption from military service] by selling [BTS’] names” is a direct reference to the conference that took place in 2019, when BTS were reaching their peak in the West, where several of the CEOs of the biggest kpop companies met *without inviting BTS’ company* to ask the government if idols that reached a certain level of success could skip military service (as with some Korean athletes), and used BTS’ success as collateral despite the fact that BTS weren’t even represented and the other kpop acts hadn’t even come close to BTS’ success.
Btw, no one knows if blonde Agust D is dead, and we will find out about it in this last Agust D album, D-Day 😁
edit: typos corrected ehe
You have no idea how mad kpop fan when this mixtape drop and got defensive about their fave,Agust D didn't name drop anyone in any songs,he said "if you got offended by my music then it's your problem" 😂😂😂 he said he set up trap on his songs, then proceed call his haters "cockroaches" 😭😭😭
So I wasn’t the only one anticipating the D-2 reaction😭
So funny how you sat down for the history lesson. 😅 I do the same when hearing the explanations on some of their songs.
woah you are the only reactor who noticed jin and jungkook fighting in the back
Moonlight is Nevermind's calmer older sister 😌
Yoongles went from Moonlight to Deachwita - the vibe switch is insane
Ah I still have nightmare flashbacks about What Do You Think. A masterpiece that had cockroaches foaming at the mouth.
You are the best! I appreciate your grind, your heart, and your gift! You’re an amazing talent with sooo much success ahead of you. Keep up the great work… You have an A.R.M.Y. behind you💜💜💜
nah the way ur reactions get me so excited is crazy
If you ever get time to delve into bangtan's history, it would be very easy to understand what or which incidents yoongi is referring to in each of his verses. And ngl , knowing all that makes the songs hit harder than ever.
Also I love your reactions, i get to re-discover and experience my baby army days again through you. Thankyou so much for being so genuine towards their music, appreciate you a lot 💜

I love that u already noticed jin&jk in daecwhita in first round, while i just noticed them after someone point it out and i was even much older army compare to u back then💜💜💜
Yeheyyy new reaction thanks loui
Oh, I would love to watch again with you the Vlive Yoongi did after the album dropped
I was so glad you watched the explanation.. THIS ALBUM IS A BANGER
D-2 is a masterpiece. I still listen to it almost daily. Moonlight is my favorite track from it. I can't wait to see him on his tour. Was lucky enough to snag a couple of seats!
To me for music context i translate daechwita as "here comes the king" it fits with the meaning of the original and music wise too.
I'm so happy you are here already. You will enjoy this album a lot. 🥰
He really IS a genius, if you ask me,
What a wonderful ride with you Loui! Hands Up! The Album was played non-stop for weeks. 💜💜💜
You are the first reactor I've watched who successfully noticed Jin and Jungkook's cameo in Daechwita 😂
AGUST D feat. RM
and soon
AGUST D feat J.HOPE
i can't wait 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Suga said he will take revenge on those who hate and attack them from all directions in 2016💜💜 and all Suga songs his lyrics are killer🤟🤟💜💜
Right in timeee! I just got off from work, let’s go! 😆
7:10 it was jin and jungkook they made a lil cameo 😅
They way you instantly recognise jin and jk is so surprising to me because their are so many reactors who don't recognise them even though they listening bts for year 😂😂😂
I love the way you hi doolset and hi sugarmy.
😂😂
I know a lot of Army recommend DKDKTV but beware that they have straight up admitted to making some stuff up for their explanation videos, and they also ignored the BTS members own words and explanation of their own music.
The utter shock and excitement when you see the next song is a ft. RM is so relatable😂😂 i mean, we all fully aware that they are literally in the the same team, but we still always so shock when we see them collabing in an individual project
One of my fave from D2 is "Moonlight" and "People"
Yey. Here we go again with the Tribe and Agust D
I CAN'T WAIT TO HEAR DAECHWITA LIVE ON TOUR IT'S GON BE CRAZY
yeah definitely not prepared, all the songs on this album are no skips lmao I love this mixtape SO much
D2 album drop was full of chaos. They used to drop blurry pics. All fandom were guessing between Jungkook and Yoongi😭 good times ☹️
