Hobi is the Rythem - hes got the beats, the unique flows and intonations.
RM is the poet - hes got the metaphors and the technical skill.

i think people were telling you you weren't ready cause namjoon's lyrics got you on your thoughts and feelings a little bit (or that's what i got from your reactions) but namjoon's stuff is "sugar coated" in a way, cause it's so poetic. yoongi on the other hand just writes things as they are, his storytelling is raw and direct and the fact that it's so relatable too just hits hard somewhere different from where joon's lyrics hit, you feel me?

6:10 not sure if anyone mentioned this but the crushed shoulder thing,, yoongi was in a car accident in 2012 where he got hit by a car as he was on his delivery shift. He ended up debuting with an injured shoulder and ended up enduring lots of pain and complications. But he got surgery to fix it in late 2020 (i think it was around November if my memory is not tripping), so if you see tannies carrying around a photo cut out of yoongi or anything else to represent him (like a snowman in one of the award shows) it was because he was recuperating from that surgery!

The thing about Yoongi, Suga aka our AGUST D is that he is direct and raw. He tell you his everything and make you feel like you are not alone. His works always talks around dream which is beautiful. If he is talking shit, he will call you out directly and if he is talking about pain and human emotions, he will tell you directly too. Which is why I love and resonate with him a lot

Behind all that anger, confrontation and venting, you can hear him screaming for help, suffering, scared to be alone,I know how that feels.
And as always ,I cried again listening to "The last",he is so relatable and that's so comforting, like he's saying,"I made it through so you can too, just don't give up" 😭😭

This mixtape is one of the (many) reasons I admire Yoongi SO MUCH. This mixtape was full of anger and fire at the people who tried to tear him down, but at the same time... it's full of vulnerability and grace. That all of these sides of him are on *one* album is just... mind-blowing.
He talks about things like social anxiety and depression that NO ONE spoke of in those days, and he straight-out tells ARMY that if talking about his pain helps even one person get through their own struggles, it was all worth it.
The hip-hop underground crowd dared to question his manhood for wearing makeup on stage, which is total BS. This? THIS is being a man. THIS is what real courage and strength look like. THIS is standing up for yourself and your loved ones.

the way yoongi is able to talk about his struggles with poverty, mental health, and just the society that surrounds him, all of this while being an incredibly great rapper, producer and songwriter is just… this is what an artist is. he IS the definition of a well-rounded artist.
he breathes and eats music, and you can always tell by listening to his craft.
and wait till you get to d-2 and see how even the tiniest details of his music video for that album are meticulously planned, leaving you with art in its purest form.

The thing is Yoongi is incredibly raw and brave. When it’s taboo to mention mental health in Korea he lays his out in The Last making others able to talk about it. He’s angry but humble and honest. He makes us feel seen but also comforted.
Also the last song with Suran is amazing and he won his first producer award in a song he later composed and produced for her “Wine”.
Did we skip the interlude on track 9 because his interludes are seriously good production wise.

So Far Away is that one song that I achingly feel with every word. it's like yoongi was speaking my soul on my behalf. I have felt exactly like that recently and i still feel it today. Not knowing what to do in life, so lost. People said going to university will sort ur life. It didn't for me. And now that I think I sort of have a dream, i'm so afraid i won't be able to taste it. I just want to disappear sometimes. I felt so isolated from everyone around me. People around me don't seem to get it. But yoongi does.

Fell into rapline and took BTS seriously with Yoongi
He spoke on very personal things I endured and i got 1000% where he was coming from
And beyond his rap, his productions too just blew me away
To understand why he was also so angry you should slowly start the Rise Of Bangtan, BTS coming from a small broke label got so much discrimination and hate, their attitude and perseverance is otherworldly and deeply inspiring! Rags to riches is an understatement compared to where they started from and where they at now! No matter how successful they are today they know the hustle, like Yoongi said in 723148 when he got scouted by Big Hit he was training to debut, while being at school and having a part time delivery job where he crushed his shoulder in an accident! That's part of their story and why they remain extremely grounded in reality, Namjoon touched a bit on this too if you remember in his Suchwita episode

If you cant tell I'm stoked as HELL for Suga week. Hes my inspiration. Hes not even my bias but hes still somehow the one who inspires me and motivates me and hits me in my soul in a way that no one else(even outside of BTS) does.
Hes an amazing human being who has been through the shits, and came out with wisdom. Hes not IQ148 Namjoon, but he has an understanding about how the world works and the people in it. That's why he and Namjoon work SO WELL off of eachother. Namjoon is always asking questions and trying to figure out the world. Yoongi instinctually understands a lot of it.

I can't remember where I got this from...I think yoongi said he hated The Last for a long time but now he's ok with it. even if he still has his down moments (we don't know but fairly speaking everyone does) he has healed a lot judging by his recent interviews
Suga was asked what he feels about creating music that is so honest and raw about his pains and sufferings. Suga's answer: "it wasn't that difficult. Because we work on music a lot, we have many songs out there. So when we work on our individual projects, we always think about what to talk about. Now that we look back at those experiences, we feel thankful, because they enable us to tell various stories. And the things that used to be painful to recall. are not anymore, because releasing music also helps alleviate that emotion. For me it has been helpful. Many people are living with their traumatic memories, but i'm sure the moment will come when they overcome that. And i also think you need to go through the process where you organize these emotions. And for me, one of that process is releasing music"
there's also this piece from another interview:
“I think I’m happier now,” he confides. “I’ve realized that happiness doesn’t require much, and it can be quite simple. I used to think material things would give me happiness, and I worked hard to achieve them. But when I succeeded, I wasn’t so sure anymore. I don’t have many earthly desires anyway,” he says with a laugh. “Perhaps it’s because I now know that material things no longer give me great satisfaction. So now, I try to find happiness in simple things, such as getting up early in the morning and having decaf coffee. I’m glad I’ve finally got to experience this kind of joy. What I lost would be being ordinary. Your ordinary is my extraordinary, right? But I think time will solve this issue.”
The Last is from his first mixtape. You can see that he has changed a lot since then by this quote of him:
“My first mixtape was all about anger, but then everything was sorted out, right?” SUGA explains with a laugh. “I realized that I didn’t know who to be angry with anymore. Finally, I was able to look at myself. I’d been making a weapon out of anger and a sense of inferiority, but around 2018, my self-destructive rage slowly started to subside. I realized that I couldn’t channel creative energy through only those sorts of emotions any longer.”
and now a recommendation for future yoongi's music reaction is his song People from second mixtape
“‘People’ is my favorite song as well,” SUGA says. “Because it’s a record of four years of my life. I set aside most songs after they’re done, but I find myself relistening to ‘People’ all the time, and I experience different emotions each time I hear it. It’s a song I put on mostly when I’m feeling lonely and sentimental.”
Suga/Agust D began writing music lyrics and working with MIDI at age 11 and held a part-time job composing and arranging music at a recording studio at age 16. Active under the name "Gloss" (wordplay on his name YoonGi, which means "to shine") as an underground rapper, He originally entered Big Hit Entertainment as a producer at age 17 in 2010, but was convinced to become a part of a new group (he was told he wouldn't have to dance!! LOL) as a rapper alongside members J-Hope and RM before making his debut as a member of BTS in 2013. In the initial years of his career in BTS, both he and his fellow group member RM faced criticism from the South Korean underground hip hop scene for "selling out" and becoming K-pop idols.
Between his commitments as a member of BTS, Suga/Agust D took advantage of time on the plane and in hotel rooms after concerts to continuously produce and compose music. In an interview for Grazia Korea, Suga/Agust D expressed a desire to release the music he wanted to do without having to consider popular appeal or music ranking. He intended to release his music for free in the form of a mixtape to avoid such considerations, commenting that an album "has a feeling of being trapped in some sort of framework" due to the need for company involvement in promotion and advertising.
Developing Agust D musically on the base of hip hop, much of Agust D's inspiration for the lyrics came from his own stories of dream, youth, and reality. In order to differentiate his work from that of his work as Suga, he developed the alter ego "Agust D".

It's fascinating to see, but every time someone who loves music experiences Yoongi's music for the first time, they always have to close their eyes and soak up his instrumentals and the production.
Honestly, I have to prepare myself for every time I listen to The Last. It's a little too relatable, and knowing he went through such pain himself is both hard and makes me admire him even more for taking the lessons he's learnt from that time to help us. It's important to note, The Last cannot be translated 100% in tone - Koreans have told us it's literally structured like a suic**e note. It's a completely, completely shocking song to them because of how raw it is, because shit like that doesn't get talked about. That said I want to ask that you listen to a lot of his music and then listen to The Astronaut last as you need to learn his journey to fully understand his goodbye song. Also, learn about his relationship to Coldplay while you're at it, it goes into the sentimentality of the song. Thanks! I hope you love the rest of what Yoongi has to offer!!

if hobi will tell a story of a cruel world, namjoon will analyze it poetically but with min yoongi as agust d, he speaks raw. no sugar coating, he says everything about himself and all the lyrics in this album is true it really happened to him, he experienced them all

lol sorry for so many comments lol...If interested here is a list of songs Suga has produced outsides of his mixtapes or featured on:
-Wine by Suran (produced by Suga) (he got he first producing award)
-Eight by IU (ft. and produced by Suga)
    -Tomorrow by BTS
    -Autumn Leaves by BTS
-Stay Alive by Jungkook (produced by Suga)
-Song Request by LeeSoRa ft. Suga
-Eternal Sunshine by Epik High (produced by Suga) (p.s. Tablo is in Epik High the same guy on All Day off of Indigo)
    -Boyz with Fun by BTS
    -Jump by BTS
    -First Love by Suga
-My Universe by Coldplay and BTS remix (Coldplay asked him to do a remix and it is so good and, in my opinion, underrated)
    -Seesaw by Suga
-Suga's Interlude by Halsey (ft. and produced by Suga)
-That That by PSY (ft. and produced by Suga) (I recommend live performance where he surprises the crowd by showing up)

-Outro: Her by BTS (underrated song in my opinion)
-Intro: The Most Beautiful Moment in Life by Suga

One part of the lyrics for Far Away is wrong in the lyric video you used. It should be “Don’t FALL away”. BTS used the phrase “don’t throw yourself away” in a couple other songs, one being Butterfly.
