I remember clicking on this video on a bus ride sophomore year of high school in early 2013. Little did I know how important Bastille would become in my life.. It's weird thinking about how I could've never fallen in love with this band had I not decided to watch this.
Well I knew Dan could sing... but I have never heard a guy sing that high and that pitch perfect before. The way they are so in tune with each other is heart-warming. I think what makes me love Bastille the most is the fact that it's 4 guys who all love making and playing music and they aren't scared to mix it up either. I first saw this video when I was around 11/12 years old and it was my first time experiencing any type of indie music as a young child. I have distinct memories of watching this seven years ago and being absolutely stunned by how amazing and breathtaking music could be and how someone could sound. I remember discovering them almost exactly a year ago, watching all of the videos of them on youtube (i'm serious) and absolutely falling in love with them. Now - a year later, a year where I kinda forgot how much O actually love them, I'm watching all those videos again and I'm falling in love all over again. the complete juxtaposition that this song has next to happier is incredible. both songs are about a relationship on the brink of failure. the difference being Flaws details one of the pair realizing that the relationship can be worked on if they work on their flaws together and not ignore them because that just ends in mess, while in happier one of the pair realizes their mess cannot be fixed but still has so much regard for the other that they would rather leave to make them happy than stay and keep the mess of the relationship.

The first time I listened this song I was blown by the voice and I didn't pay attention to the lyrics, then I read them I said thats a perfect combination: voice and lyrics. Just pure pleasure and perfection. Dan I give you permission to sing to my ears all what you want.
