Well I knew Dan could sing... but I have never heard a guy sing that high and that pitch perfect before. The way they are so in tune with each other is heart-warming. I think what makes me love Bastille the most is the fact that it's 4 guys who all love making and playing music and they aren't scared to mix it up either. The passion that they have and the unbelievable amount of talent that they share is so refreshing. Thank you for making your music. Bastille je vous aime

3:11 his voice literally engulfs the freaking room. There are way too many talentless people in the music industry today, but there are a few very good sings. And out of those, not many have the legit belting power to fill and entire museum. But Dan does, and the guys really complement his voice well. Hope for music=restored

Now - a year later, a year where I kinda forgot how much O actually love them, I'm watching all those videos again and I'm falling in love all over again. With the music, the sound and most of all Dan Smith. That guy gives me heart palpitatons as soon as I see a picture or a gif of him or hear his voice. Much, much love for those four guys. 💞

the complete juxtaposition that this song has next to happier is incredible. both songs are about a relationship on the brink of failure. the difference being Flaws details one of the pair realizing that the relationship can be worked on if they work on their flaws together and not ignore them because that just ends in mess, while in happier one of the pair realizes their mess cannot be fixed but still has so much regard for the other that they would rather leave to make them happy than stay and keep the mess of the relationship.

The way he holds the note “there’s a hole in my soul” rather than segregating the words gives me life

When all of your flaws and all of my flaws are laid out one by one
A wonderful part of the mess that we made
    We pick ourselves undone
All of your flaws and all of my flaws, they lie there hand in hand
Ones we've inherited, ones that we learn
They pass from man to man
There's a hole in my soul
    I can't fill it, I can't fill it
There's a hole in my soul
Can you fill it? Can you fill it?
You have always worn your flaws upon your sleeve
And I have always buried them deep beneath the ground
Dig them up - let's finish what we started
Dig them up - so nothing's left unturned
All of your flaws and all of my flaws, when they have been exhumed
We'll see that we need them to be who we are
    Without them we'd be doomed
There's a hole in my soul
    I can't fill it, I can't fill it
There's a hole in my soul
Can you fill it? Can you fill it?
You have always worn your flaws upon your sleeve
And I have always buried them deep beneath the ground
Dig them up - let's finish what we started
Dig them up - so nothing's left unturned
    Oooooh
    Oooooh
When all of your flaws and all of my flaws are counted
When all of your flaws and all of my flaws are counted
You have always worn your flaws upon your sleeve
And I have always buried them deep beneath the ground
Dig them up - let's finish what we started
Dig them up - so nothing's left unturned
    Oooooh
    Oooooh
All of your flaws and all of my flaws are laid out one by one
Look at the wonderful mess that we made
    We pick ourselves undone

The first time I listened this song I was blown by the voice and I didn't pay attention to the lyrics, then I read them I said thats a perfect combination: voice and lyrics. Just pure pleasure and perfection. Dan I give you permission to sing to my ears all what you want.
