  • In this video, Dr. Grant Cooper from the Princeton Spine and Joint Center discusses Lumbar Stenosis, a common spinal condition causing back and leg pain, numbness, tingling, and weakness. He explains that Lumbar Stenosis is often a result of narrowing of the spinal nerve passageways, leading to nerve irritation and inflammation. Dr. Cooper distinguishes between two types of Lumbar Stenosis, central and foraminal, and explores its various causes, including herniated discs and facet joint arthritis. He elaborates on symptoms, diagnostic tests, and a range of treatment options, from conservative measures like physical therapy and epidural steroid injections to surgical interventions, emphasizing the importance of addressing the underlying biomechanics for long-term spine health.

Thank you for watching. I think the best way to slow it down is just pause it and then rewind it whenever you need to go over a point that may have been confusing. Many people listen to these sorts of videos multiple times to fully understand the points. I know that I used to rewind lectures on tape in medical school all the time! Thanks for your feedback.

Just so you know, I filmed a video on facet joint cysts the other day so it’s in the queue. It may take a little bit for us to edit and get it up on UA-cam but it’s coming.
