SUPER FAST MOCHI POUNDING Nara, Japan

- Do you know Nakatanido? The famous mochi shop in Nara?
I got a chance to watch their amazing, fast-pounding mochi very closely! And I found out this quick Mochi pounding is not for entertainment but for its incredibly soft and melt-in-your-mouth texture.
This mochi does not have a matcha flavor, but Yomogi, the Japanese mugwort.
As he said, the Delicious mochi is soft, smooth, and stretchy.
To create that signature texture, they should pound it fast and quickly.
Look at that soft mochi that barely holds its shape!

Looks so yummy. God bless those men beating the mochi with strength and health. That is not an easy job. I don't think I'd last an hour at that job.
You are so kind to worry about their health!
Thank you for posting this, I would love to see it in person someday!
It's going to be a great experience!
Wow these people are amazing! 😮 It takes great timing and skill. 💖
Yes they do🥰
That place is fun. Nara is my favorite place to visit in Japan.
We were lucky enough to go to this mochi shop early when there was no line. We had no idea it was so famous
That’s wonderful ! Now that the tourist coming back to Japan so you'll have to wait in a long line about 10-15 mins to get one!
👍😎
I miss really soft, yummy o-mochi. You can't find it in the Midwest, unless you visit the Dallas area (which is 4.5 hrs away). It is one of my favorite things in the world! When I lived in Japan as a little girl, my mother would send my sister and I to market to purchase fresh o-mochi.
Thank you for sharing your beautiful memories! You can make mochi by yourself with my recipe! Thanks for watching!
