I figured 2k out. check it PURPOSELY nerf badges, attributes, and animations and disguise that by by calling them “UPDATES” or PATCHES to specifically take away the fun and ruin your build because you already wasted money on VC (micro transactions). Just so you can make a new build, spend more money, more of these “updates”will come. Rinse and repeat.
I actually like the builder this year for this reason: Badges are everything. I made a similar build to the one I had last year. It got basically all of the same stats, but last year I was also able to get 78 block, while this year I have no block added. As a guard it doesn't matter much. But I was only able to get under 50 total badges last year and this year I get 63 badges. I feel like if you know how to keep your badges maxed out then your player can be more versatile on offense and defense if you want it to be. I don't need a demigod build I just want a build that fits my play style to be as good as possible where I need it to be.

I may be tripping, but one of the worst changes in 2k24 was delayed greens. Why do i have to wait until the shot goes in to know if it was green or not? It's a video game, I need to know if my shot is green from the time the ball leaves my hands.
I like the builder now more then last year, but with last years builder I only needed 2 builds max and I could do everything so it was fun. Issue is I am a person who likes to try different play styles and with this builder I gotta throw out $500+ on different builds to just try different styles. Their is pros and cons to both builders for me.

2k20 build system was the best to me piecharts made the game balance theres no point of playing 3s anymore when everyone has a build that can do everything might as well only play 1v1
I have never spent any money on a 2k. I have been playing since 2k16 so not a crazy amount of time but as of today I have 4 builds at 95+ overall and two more at 81+ overall. It is the only game I play but I really don’t play other than the weekends. Usually on Saturdays. I work around 70 hours a week and then spend all of Sunday in my church. I don’t hate the game mainly because I think I am better than I have ever been BUT I have to be very picky on which builds I make because some builds literally can cost 2-5x more vc than others. Why stinks about it is that it’s hard to tell if a build is any good by using the demo mode and until you get to an 85 you don’t really get a taste of it’s abilities. As the years go on it seems that they care less and less about the game and more about making you spend money

I would love for 2k25 to have a similar system to what R6S has with alpha packs. Which is basically that after every game, you have a chance to win an pack in siege, which contains an assortment of rewards, and after every game you don't receive a pack, your chance increases. So 2k could flip that to where basically you have another spin the wheel, they could keep all the same rewards, but with the chance to earn it after every game, it would definitely improve my fun with the game. Plus, if you don't play stage, or aren't good enough to win events, you'd still get rewarded for winning park/rec games for the average player, instead of the abysmal amount of vc you get for playing.

I just need them to tone down the shooting. I’m a casual player so I’m not good. But it sucks because I have to play builds that only play D or a pass and dunk build. It’s not fun. I know i suck but it’s not made for casuals which is turning me away.

I think they still do this during your mycareer season but I guess to get right to it you'd need to simulate half a season each time you wanna play it, which is stupid. If you're gonna make it put it in the main menus.
As someone who shoots around 75% from 3, cheating, and paying for scripts to shoot any higher then that is crazy ☠️
