That actually happened to me a lot in 2k17. Justice would handoff to me and then run half speed in front of me on my attempted drive. So I was essentially guarded by him, and 2 defenders. Course, Justice coming out of nowhere to steal my asts on fast breaks was why I finally learned directional passing but that is another story. (Not to mention how for an alleged lockdown defender how often I had to bail him out because he couldn't get around a screen or stay with a cutter to save his life)
The reality that is Mycareer is way too tedious and the rewards for playing mycareer are not worth it. Sitting through 20-30 minute game after game of playing the same silly cpu is just not fun. And to do all that for maybe 1k vc isnt worthwhile and 2k knows this. Its all to incentivize you to skip the grind and pay for VC so you can actually get to the fun part which is playing people online. The my career endorsements are tedious and worthless since they dont make any VC. The goat rewards add no new experience to my myplayer. 2k could honestly keep everything the same but offer lets say 3.5-5k vc per game and that would make it worthwhile. Or make the endorsement challenges 10-20k vc and that would be fine. But of course that doesn’t help 2ks ultimate goal which is making money so here we are.
Hopefully they can change for the better 💯, there’s so much untapped potential they could reach, but unfortunately I don’t think that’s their main priority What makes it worse is that some of these things we already had but then they change it for their own gain at the cost of our experience (Like with how much VC we can earn)

I can't stand how the CPU plays in Mycareer they have 500 sigs and the CPU doesn't use ANY of them. They will literally dribble directly into your chest over and over until they get some goofy blow by or just warp past you. They don't do any cool stepback moves and spin shots. They shooters just chuck BS and make it no matter how SMOTHERED especially when the shot clock is about to go out. LAZY PROGRAMMING!! The CPU just hits red contest after red contest..ive seen 100% smothered go in..and your teammates are always garbage nomatter what or who they are. The game cheats so blatantly that it's literally unplayable if you have any basketball know-how.. the only offline mode with playing is MyEras at least you can edit the sliders and negate the cheese but the CPU doesn't use any flashy moves its so boring watching them dribble around like it's 1967. Crappy game design to force you to spend money..
You just made me realize ain’t no way there’s 500 sigs & the CPU hardly even utilizes it 😭 When you compare it to the CPU of other games like For Honor, you’ll see that the AI will do different combos & patterns but it seems like 2K’s AI doesn’t have much variation (In MyCareer atleast)
you explained all my issues with 2k over the past few years, especially about how the cpu's goal is to stop you from getting good stats towards your vc vs actually playing to win the game. it becomes annoying having to pass out of the same double teams over and over, and to have your AI teammates make dumb decisions to prevent you from getting assists or cause you to get a turnover. i miss 2k11 myplayer mode and how the AI in that game actually put up a real challenge, used different defensive schemes on you based on their team roster and matchups (not just spamming double teams). if a team had a good perimeter defender, thats who would guard you, if a team didn't, they would send double teams. also the game wasn't based on microtransactions then, so just doing drills in practice netted you a ton of skill points as it was called at the time to upgrade your player. now everything is geared towards making you lose out on vc, hindering your progress, or just making you take extra long to get the same amount of vc it would take less time in previous 2ks. if this current trajectory continues, by 2k30 , you'll be getting less than 500 vc total for nba games with A+ teammate grades.
I feel like the AI did have flaws in the older 2K’s, but atleast the best perimeter defender would try to come guard you rather than mindless double teams & rotations coming at you all the time
You all must’ve forgot that the community began complaining about MyCareer having more development attention that the park and the original Jordan Rec center. This was one of the first times they actually listened to the community, and began to slowly shift from the MyCareer experience to place more emphasis on the park/city.
I blame the people who were saying “Cut the stories out, I just wanna play basketball” like no. I used to play 2k for the MyCareer stories. 16, 17, even 18, they were all fun to me because of the stories. That, and the grind is just so much more tedious. For me as a casual player now, I can’t be any good because I don’t take the time to grind the way it wants me to anymore.
Only “tip” I got for MC is to complete the GOAT skill tier stuff. Once you get it to where it activates multiple times a game it’ll reset your stamina whenever it activates.

I have been playing career and park consistently since 2K15 and I have also seen what these modes have changed into over time; especially post 2K19. There are so many things wrong nowadays and it feels like you are playing 1v9 sometimes, I thought it was just me creating weird conspiracy theories, but the scummy tactics such as grade manipulation and horrible rotations/shot selection from your own team just destroys the experience. I am glad people like you are exposing it, with well put together videos and great commentary. One of my New favourite 2k UA-camrs. Loved the park video too btw!

You forgot the most important issue - the storyline. The plotline was 2k's biggest advantage over other sport career modes, but it's getting worse every year. The storyline was great in 2k2016 and 17, and last year it was nice, but this year you just need to get ranked in a podcaster's tear list, it's just lame and boring, 2k need to make great mycareer storylines again.
The changes came when 2k listen to the online park heads. They think it was too easy to get the same reward they got playing in the park. 2k just needs to connect my career back to online rewards

The bigger issue is that MyCareer doesn't make 2K money so it's becoming more and more of a sideshow. The fact is that the people who cried to change MyCareer were the sweatlords in the park. Coincidentally, these are also the people that dump cash into the game buying VC, animations, clothes, etc. I played 2K for years, mostly singleplayer in MyCareer because I don't feel like dealing with kids and sweatlords trying to treat a park game like it's the final 2 minutes of the NBA Finals. Until I played multiplayer, I rarely spent money on the game because there wasn't really a big need to. You could grind your first season on easy mode, then crank the difficulty after that season when you got your VC to upgrade. However, with all the crying about 'too much story' and 'MyCareer is too easy', 2K made the singleplayer mode unplayable and instead went all-in on their cash cow multiplayer, riddled with its microtransactions. You can trace the growth of microtransactions and see a direct correlation with 2K's continued emphasis on multiplayer modes that push people to spend money. Give it another few years and MyCareer will be a complete shadow (if existing at all) and the game will be all multiplayer with limitless ways to pay-to-win.
Issue is they took any motivation for playing it, before there was at least a story line to follow for a decent amount of time which helped mask the grind. Then they made it so grinding gives back minimum amount of reward because over the inflating cost of player upgrades and clothing, so why would anyone play it except to just enjoy some time away from the trash issues online
I just finished my carrer as a rookie in 2k24...number 1 defensive player, rockie of the year, finals MVP and League's MVP... When it came to close my deal for renewal, the game sent me straight to the free agent market, didn't even allowed me to stay with my original team... Worst of all, I pretty much had to start from scratch, not even in the starting lineup.
what about the fact that the literal storyline is "the best rookie since LJ" but you start off 60 overall, makes no sense. Online mode is also no fun when you're dogshit, toxic as hell playerbase, you're forced either to a absurd grind or to pay for vc to have some fun
The 2K community ruined Mycareer, 2K listened to all the complaints, now we have the most boring vanilla Mycareer ever. People complained about the cut scenes, 2K made them skipable, but that wasn't good enough.... so now we have minimal cut scenes, which means there's is no storyline or anything, just playing game after game chasing stats. They complained about being drafted to teams they don't want to play for, we got the option to force a trade anywhere we want after about 10 games.... still not good enough, so now we don't even get drafted anymore. The dumb part is that most of the people that complained about Mycareer are the park, rec and pro-am players, they wanted no part of Mycareer, they just want to make a build and jump online, yet they complained about having to go through a few cut scenes, so now we all have to put up with an extremely dull Mycareer experience. I'd love to go back to the high school, college, combine, draft and summer league with a storyline. It used to be MYCAREER, it has become MYBUILD. There is also no incentive whatsoever to grind Mycareer, you can't even gain xp for the season pass. Rep is tied to online play, why can't they let Mycareer grinders level up the season pass, at least the free pass? I'd normally grind my guy up in mycareer before taking him online, but there isn't much incentive to grind online either. People just buy level 40 at the start of every season, so it seems pointless. Then they have that top 10 thing, so there is no legend grind at all anymore. I liked it back on 2K15 and I think 2K16 where you had to get to Pro to even travel to other parks, that was awesome. Then it was a big thing to hit legend and take your shirt off. There's just nothing like that to grind for anymore. Also, the cost of the builds and low VC payouts make the game extremely tedious. If you are a no money spent player you have to play the game like it's a full time job just to get your build up to 95+... they've taken the fun out of the game.
The grade dropping is the worse me especially when u pass A- u can be doing nothing literally sitting in the corner while your team burns the clock and it’s just start droppin or be up 50 points and miss a free throw and drop a half a grade I got screenshots in my game from just playing on rookie to see the most I could score had 230 points 20 rebounds 20 assist 1 turnovers(last seconds of the game 0fouls missed only two threes nothing else still lost my A+ before it was over

There’s a glitch in the cpu, I’m a 7”1 center when you get the Def rebound don’t outlet pass bring the ball up court and drive directly towards the opponent’s PG he’ll pick up on you instead of the CPU center now you are free to back the PG down into the paint and he won’t be able to stop you as you’ll be to big. Rinse and repeat, this works on a HOF difficulty.
It’s so many issues in my career and my park nowadays that I am gone make a full video on it this summer 💯another reason people don’t play 2k anymore is because they force u to buy VC so people just quit I remember back in 2k15 it was 110K thousand VC to get your first 75 upgrades which was from a 60-90 overall and back then u had high rollers which for money hungry reasons never return back in game and in 2k16 it was 140K to go from a 55 overall to a 88 when u max out your player back then u can buy Levels on your badges buy clothes,animations all that and still have VC left over after buying 200k VC nowadays that would barly upgrade your player to a 85 overall and forget about it when u get upgrade overall points after that because u have to buy more VC again better yet buy clothes and animations for him 😭💯my points is VC back when it was first introduce back in 2k13 had enough ways for u earned it that it was a luxury to buy VC it wasn’t mandatory like it is now unless u wanna spend 300 hours on a player which isn’t worth it’s fucked up that da amount of VC u make on Mycareer now is da same amount u made back then but it’s literally quadruple da price for da same shit that’s just da world we living now 💯

Needed to be said and I appreciate the video. As someone who strictly played MC, 2k continued to put all the emphasis on Park because that's where people would like have the most use for their microtransactions. I get that they want to make as much money as possible but it never made sense to require your MC player to go and play a certain number of park games to progress the story. I get that the MC stories were never that in depth and usually gave little past the midpoint of the first season and maybe a couple cut scenes in the playoffs but you can tell the devs just put the mode in more so as a "create a player" for the park mode that a legit self sustaining game mode. Maybe if NCAA gets a new basketball game now that NIL deals are in, 2k will have a reason to dedicate actual consideration to the MC mode in the future rather than just a VC layover

It's worse with the arcade, when you play my career on HOF difficulty, your whole team gets nerfed and the ai gets a huge boost...you'll grind your player to a 97 or 99 OVR and he'll be blocked,stopped, and even posterized by a 75/80 ovr even Andre Drummond can hit a half court buzzer beater
as someone who works full time, i dont have the time to play mycareer to upgrade my dude. Im not playing multiple seasons taking probably at least a month or two just to be able to go online with my dude. By the time i get to an overall where i can actually be useful in online, im gonna be burnt on the game because ive played it so much. the only real way to play without getting burnt and quitting for months (or the year) is to buy VC.
i’ve been playing 2k24 myeras. had saved up some vc so i decided to try mycareer out and the first thing i noticed was how different the ai plays. the ai spams double teams like crazy in mycareer vs myeras. 2k league uses a completely different build of 2k as well.
I noticed the teammate grade decrease as well. I thought i was trippin and doing something wrong. But you could be right next to whoever your gaurding and the grade will still go down for no reason.
I will say this what 2k needs to do: 1. Stop the green release ( go back to 2k11-12 mechanic make it more about the rating, it’ll stop people from jacking up shots especially) 2. Make the story better and not geared toward the agenda. 3. And make the reward better.
I'm so glad someone pointed out how little VC you get for MyCareer... everyone is all pumped up cos they lowered the price of builds to buy VC BUT THEY MADE IT HARDER TO EARN VC!!! I'm a grinder, so I take my 8th build at 60 overall straight into the REC centre like god intended.

I just think its insane how they actually have some decent ideas like the accolades and goat records to beat and YET they give you *ZERO* VC FOR ANY OF IT. I break the single season scoring record, and I get no VC, I win the in season tournament, and I get no VC. Win the All star Game MVP and you get no VC, it's just ridiculous how taxing the grind is and the incentive is bare minimum. The Badge regression system is the scummiest mechanic i think I've ever seen in a sports game easily, every game instead of playing how you want that game, or to how the game is flowing depending on the other teams defense you have to babysit badges and try get every single type of shot or thing to make sure your badges don't decline. I can't even imagine how it effects online play since I strictly play My Career.
I feel this but a lot of the things you had issues with as far as longevity are actually in the game already so I'm a bit confused. But on the back end when you're talking about how you get the my career points you were on point bro

I used to play the daily streetball challenge with each build to grind VC but recently the 750 VC stop being added most of the time. Same thing with Gatorade for workouts.
i think one great thing they've done with mycareer is the goat status, and the goat perks, or whatever you call them. if you do the in game challenges you get attribute boosts for a certain amount of time. the difficulty bonus just isn't worth it. my best game on all star will get my roughly 1600 VC, my best game on superstar will get me about the same. not sure why they decided to cut the difficulty bonus (well i know why but i dont agree with it 😂) But I honestly think it's kind of a hard thing to balance. Because on one hand, proam 3v3 should get a big multiplier because it's ranked (but maybe it should be dependent on the rank of the team you beat). and mycareer can be pretty easy to cheese, but then it's nowhere near as fun as park/rec/proam, so i think that should also be considered when thinking about vc distribution.

In my POV I feel like loading up & playing pro am 3v3 is much less stressful than MyCareer & easier for a new player to adapt to (SB: anyone that sees this can disagree with my point cause there’s a few other ways of looking at it as well)

This why I went back and played 2K17 and 2K12 my career. Sure it’s kinda dated now cause the cpu just be shooting random stuff💀But atleast its fun and doesn’t feel frustrating. Also it’s not repetitive like ofc Lebron’s gonna go off cause its Lebron but you got players like Rudy Gay and Jeff Teague cooking too.
I think the cpu is just dumb. Doubling him in the Shawn clip you showed is right (doubling the main scorer when he’s hot late in the shot clock), but they didn’t double with the right player. The cpu on your team rarely rotate properly, and spacing is terrible. They run into you when you call iso, and they Jack up dumb shots early in the clock.
MyCareer stopped hitting in 2K12. Back in 2K10 and 11, all of the current demigods of today were crying because they were getting put in the dleague for being trash and forced to stay there. You could look up in the forums, people were crying everyday about “I need help” “how do I get out the dleague” “2K made this too hard”. You also got held accountable for playing selfish or not up to par, sometimes demoted to the bench or even GLeague. Now it’s cookie catered to everyone to win as long as you have money to spend.

This is my first 2k ive baought since 2k17 so its been refreshing playing again butttt i will say so much is just ugggh. I miss making a player that can mac out 99 on multiple (if not all stats). I hate how it essentially plays second fiddle to park. I also miss when cpu was actually hard, damn near ridiculous lol. An example, 2k14 (my fav) i played on the pacers as a pg we met the lebron heatles in the conference finals . Every gane went to overtime all contentious, has to be the hardest 2k challenge ive ever had also the most fun. Also in the old games i never had 100 pt games. Ive had multiple 105 games in 2k24, my best is 112 and the team overll scored 200 pts. Obviously different era but man what happened to the game i love.

That actually happened to me a lot in 2k17. Justice would handoff to me and then run half speed in front of me on my attempted drive. So I was essentially guarded by him, and 2 defenders.
Course, Justice coming out of nowhere to steal my asts on fast breaks was why I finally learned directional passing but that is another story. (Not to mention how for an alleged lockdown defender how often I had to bail him out because he couldn't get around a screen or stay with a cutter to save his life)
You can just call a quick iso on the wing to prevent that.

The reality that is Mycareer is way too tedious and the rewards for playing mycareer are not worth it. Sitting through 20-30 minute game after game of playing the same silly cpu is just not fun. And to do all that for maybe 1k vc isnt worthwhile and 2k knows this. Its all to incentivize you to skip the grind and pay for VC so you can actually get to the fun part which is playing people online. The my career endorsements are tedious and worthless since they dont make any VC. The goat rewards add no new experience to my myplayer. 2k could honestly keep everything the same but offer lets say 3.5-5k vc per game and that would make it worthwhile. Or make the endorsement challenges 10-20k vc and that would be fine. But of course that doesn’t help 2ks ultimate goal which is making money so here we are.
Hopefully they can change for the better 💯, there’s so much untapped potential they could reach, but unfortunately I don’t think that’s their main priority
What makes it worse is that some of these things we already had but then they change it for their own gain at the cost of our experience (Like with how much VC we can earn)

I can't stand how the CPU plays in Mycareer they have 500 sigs and the CPU doesn't use ANY of them. They will literally dribble directly into your chest over and over until they get some goofy blow by or just warp past you. They don't do any cool stepback moves and spin shots. They shooters just chuck BS and make it no matter how SMOTHERED especially when the shot clock is about to go out. LAZY PROGRAMMING!! The CPU just hits red contest after red contest..ive seen 100% smothered go in..and your teammates are always garbage nomatter what or who they are. The game cheats so blatantly that it's literally unplayable if you have any basketball know-how.. the only offline mode with playing is MyEras at least you can edit the sliders and negate the cheese but the CPU doesn't use any flashy moves its so boring watching them dribble around like it's 1967. Crappy game design to force you to spend money..

you explained all my issues with 2k over the past few years, especially about how the cpu's goal is to stop you from getting good stats towards your vc vs actually playing to win the game. it becomes annoying having to pass out of the same double teams over and over, and to have your AI teammates make dumb decisions to prevent you from getting assists or cause you to get a turnover. i miss 2k11 myplayer mode and how the AI in that game actually put up a real challenge, used different defensive schemes on you based on their team roster and matchups (not just spamming double teams). if a team had a good perimeter defender, thats who would guard you, if a team didn't, they would send double teams. also the game wasn't based on microtransactions then, so just doing drills in practice netted you a ton of skill points as it was called at the time to upgrade your player. now everything is geared towards making you lose out on vc, hindering your progress, or just making you take extra long to get the same amount of vc it would take less time in previous 2ks. if this current trajectory continues, by 2k30 , you'll be getting less than 500 vc total for nba games with A+ teammate grades.

You all must’ve forgot that the community began complaining about MyCareer having more development attention that the park and the original Jordan Rec center. This was one of the first times they actually listened to the community, and began to slowly shift from the MyCareer experience to place more emphasis on the park/city.
I blame the people who were saying “Cut the stories out, I just wanna play basketball” like no. I used to play 2k for the MyCareer stories. 16, 17, even 18, they were all fun to me because of the stories. That, and the grind is just so much more tedious. For me as a casual player now, I can’t be any good because I don’t take the time to grind the way it wants me to anymore.
I didn’t mean to leave them out, but 14 and 15’s stories were top tier as well.

Only “tip” I got for MC is to complete the GOAT skill tier stuff. Once you get it to where it activates multiple times a game it’ll reset your stamina whenever it activates.

I have been playing career and park consistently since 2K15 and I have also seen what these modes have changed into over time; especially post 2K19. There are so many things wrong nowadays and it feels like you are playing 1v9 sometimes, I thought it was just me creating weird conspiracy theories, but the scummy tactics such as grade manipulation and horrible rotations/shot selection from your own team just destroys the experience.

You forgot the most important issue - the storyline. The plotline was 2k's biggest advantage over other sport career modes, but it's getting worse every year. The storyline was great in 2k2016 and 17, and last year it was nice, but this year you just need to get ranked in a podcaster's tear list, it's just lame and boring, 2k need to make great mycareer storylines again.
The changes came when 2k listen to the online park heads. They think it was too easy to get the same reward they got playing in the park. 2k just needs to connect my career back to online rewards

The bigger issue is that MyCareer doesn't make 2K money so it's becoming more and more of a sideshow. The fact is that the people who cried to change MyCareer were the sweatlords in the park. Coincidentally, these are also the people that dump cash into the game buying VC, animations, clothes, etc. I played 2K for years, mostly singleplayer in MyCareer because I don't feel like dealing with kids and sweatlords trying to treat a park game like it's the final 2 minutes of the NBA Finals. Until I played multiplayer, I rarely spent money on the game because there wasn't really a big need to. You could grind your first season on easy mode, then crank the difficulty after that season when you got your VC to upgrade.
However, with all the crying about 'too much story' and 'MyCareer is too easy', 2K made the singleplayer mode unplayable and instead went all-in on their cash cow multiplayer, riddled with its microtransactions. You can trace the growth of microtransactions and see a direct correlation with 2K's continued emphasis on multiplayer modes that push people to spend money. Give it another few years and MyCareer will be a complete shadow (if existing at all) and the game will be all multiplayer with limitless ways to pay-to-win.
The animation in 2k15-17 were just so much better. You see the same animations every time now
Issue is they took any motivation for playing it, before there was at least a story line to follow for a decent amount of time which helped mask the grind. Then they made it so grinding gives back minimum amount of reward because over the inflating cost of player upgrades and clothing, so why would anyone play it except to just enjoy some time away from the trash issues online
Grinding to 99 was the dumbest thing they ever did.
Offline is less stressful like mynba only problem is they keep lower player badges every season 😞
The amount of VC you earned in 2K would actually be fine if it only took 30K VC to get to 85 overall. These days, it's 250K VC
I just finished my carrer as a rookie in 2k24...number 1 defensive player, rockie of the year, finals MVP and League's MVP...
When it came to close my deal for renewal, the game sent me straight to the free agent market, didn't even allowed me to stay with my original team...
Worst of all, I pretty much had to start from scratch, not even in the starting lineup.

The 2K community ruined Mycareer, 2K listened to all the complaints, now we have the most boring vanilla Mycareer ever.
People complained about the cut scenes, 2K made them skipable, but that wasn't good enough.... so now we have minimal cut scenes, which means there's is no storyline or anything, just playing game after game chasing stats.
They complained about being drafted to teams they don't want to play for, we got the option to force a trade anywhere we want after about 10 games.... still not good enough, so now we don't even get drafted anymore.
The dumb part is that most of the people that complained about Mycareer are the park, rec and pro-am players, they wanted no part of Mycareer, they just want to make a build and jump online, yet they complained about having to go through a few cut scenes, so now we all have to put up with an extremely dull Mycareer experience.
I'd love to go back to the high school, college, combine, draft and summer league with a storyline. It used to be MYCAREER, it has become MYBUILD.
There is also no incentive whatsoever to grind Mycareer, you can't even gain xp for the season pass. Rep is tied to online play, why can't they let Mycareer grinders level up the season pass, at least the free pass?
I'd normally grind my guy up in mycareer before taking him online, but there isn't much incentive to grind online either. People just buy level 40 at the start of every season, so it seems pointless. Then they have that top 10 thing, so there is no legend grind at all anymore.
I liked it back on 2K15 and I think 2K16 where you had to get to Pro to even travel to other parks, that was awesome. Then it was a big thing to hit legend and take your shirt off. There's just nothing like that to grind for anymore.
Also, the cost of the builds and low VC payouts make the game extremely tedious. If you are a no money spent player you have to play the game like it's a full time job just to get your build up to 95+... they've taken the fun out of the game.
Those teammates grade glitches have NEVER happened to me. That's crazy. The only problem I've ever had with it is it not updating fast enough.

The grade dropping is the worse me especially when u pass A- u can be doing nothing literally sitting in the corner while your team burns the clock and it’s just start droppin or be up 50 points and miss a free throw and drop a half a grade I got screenshots in my game from just playing on rookie to see the most I could score had 230 points 20 rebounds 20 assist 1 turnovers(last seconds of the game 0fouls missed only two threes nothing else still lost my A+ before it was over

There’s a glitch in the cpu, I’m a 7”1 center when you get the Def rebound don’t outlet pass bring the ball up court and drive directly towards the opponent’s PG he’ll pick up on you instead of the CPU center now you are free to back the PG down into the paint and he won’t be able to stop you as you’ll be to big. Rinse and repeat, this works on a HOF difficulty.
It’s so many issues in my career and my park nowadays that I am gone make a full video on it this summer 💯another reason people don’t play 2k anymore is because they force u to buy VC so people just quit I remember back in 2k15 it was 110K thousand VC to get your first 75 upgrades which was from a 60-90 overall and back then u had high rollers which for money hungry reasons never return back in game and in 2k16 it was 140K to go from a 55 overall to a 88 when u max out your player back then u can buy Levels on your badges buy clothes,animations all that and still have VC left over after buying 200k VC nowadays that would barly upgrade your player to a 85 overall and forget about it when u get upgrade overall points after that because u have to buy more VC again better yet buy clothes and animations for him 😭💯my points is VC back when it was first introduce back in 2k13 had enough ways for u earned it that it was a luxury to buy VC it wasn’t mandatory like it is now unless u wanna spend 300 hours on a player which isn’t worth it’s fucked up that da amount of VC u make on Mycareer now is da same amount u made back then but it’s literally quadruple da price for da same shit that’s just da world we living now 💯

Needed to be said and I appreciate the video. As someone who strictly played MC, 2k continued to put all the emphasis on Park because that's where people would like have the most use for their microtransactions. I get that they want to make as much money as possible but it never made sense to require your MC player to go and play a certain number of park games to progress the story. I get that the MC stories were never that in depth and usually gave little past the midpoint of the first season and maybe a couple cut scenes in the playoffs but you can tell the devs just put the mode in more so as a "create a player" for the park mode that a legit self sustaining game mode. Maybe if NCAA gets a new basketball game now that NIL deals are in, 2k will have a reason to dedicate actual consideration to the MC mode in the future rather than just a VC layover

This is a great video. By the way in 2K 25 the drop in teammate grade is still happening. I’ll have an A+ teammate grade doing everything perfect and then all the sudden after a change of possession, it’ll just drop to an a for no reason
It's worse with the arcade, when you play my career on HOF difficulty, your whole team gets nerfed and the ai gets a huge boost...you'll grind your player to a 97 or 99 OVR and he'll be blocked,stopped, and even posterized by a 75/80 ovr even Andre Drummond can hit a half court buzzer beater
as someone who works full time, i dont have the time to play mycareer to upgrade my dude. Im not playing multiple seasons taking probably at least a month or two just to be able to go online with my dude. By the time i get to an overall where i can actually be useful in online, im gonna be burnt on the game because ive played it so much. the only real way to play without getting burnt and quitting for months (or the year) is to buy VC.
We used get enough vc to make brand new builds through endorsements, now vc payout nearly non existent
In my career you do lose more stamina. It refills when you activate a goat skill.

i’ve been playing 2k24 myeras. had saved up some vc so i decided to try mycareer out and the first thing i noticed was how different the ai plays. the ai spams double teams like crazy in mycareer vs myeras. 2k league uses a completely different build of 2k as well.
I noticed the teammate grade decrease as well. I thought i was trippin and doing something wrong. But you could be right next to whoever your gaurding and the grade will still go down for no reason.
I will say this what 2k needs to do:
1. Stop the green release ( go back to 2k11-12 mechanic make it more about the rating, it’ll stop people from jacking up shots especially)
2. Make the story better and not geared toward the agenda.
3. And make the reward better.
I'm so glad someone pointed out how little VC you get for MyCareer... everyone is all pumped up cos they lowered the price of builds to buy VC BUT THEY MADE IT HARDER TO EARN VC!!!
I'm a grinder, so I take my 8th build at 60 overall straight into the REC centre like god intended.

I just think its insane how they actually have some decent ideas like the accolades and goat records to beat and YET they give you *ZERO* VC FOR ANY OF IT. I break the single season scoring record, and I get no VC, I win the in season tournament, and I get no VC. Win the All star Game MVP and you get no VC, it's just ridiculous how taxing the grind is and the incentive is bare minimum.
The Badge regression system is the scummiest mechanic i think I've ever seen in a sports game easily, every game instead of playing how you want that game, or to how the game is flowing depending on the other teams defense you have to babysit badges and try get every single type of shot or thing to make sure your badges don't decline. I can't even imagine how it effects online play since I strictly play My Career.
I feel this but a lot of the things you had issues with as far as longevity are actually in the game already so I'm a bit confused. But on the back end when you're talking about how you get the my career points you were on point bro

I used to play the daily streetball challenge with each build to grind VC but recently the 750 VC stop being added most of the time. Same thing with Gatorade for workouts.
i think one great thing they've done with mycareer is the goat status, and the goat perks, or whatever you call them. if you do the in game challenges you get attribute boosts for a certain amount of time.
the difficulty bonus just isn't worth it. my best game on all star will get my roughly 1600 VC, my best game on superstar will get me about the same.
not sure why they decided to cut the difficulty bonus (well i know why but i dont agree with it 😂)
But I honestly think it's kind of a hard thing to balance. Because on one hand, proam 3v3 should get a big multiplier because it's ranked (but maybe it should be dependent on the rank of the team you beat). and mycareer can be pretty easy to cheese, but then it's nowhere near as fun as park/rec/proam, so i think that should also be considered when thinking about vc distribution.

This why I went back and played 2K17 and 2K12 my career. Sure it’s kinda dated now cause the cpu just be shooting random stuff💀But atleast its fun and doesn’t feel frustrating. Also it’s not repetitive like ofc Lebron’s gonna go off cause its Lebron but you got players like Rudy Gay and Jeff Teague cooking too.

I think the cpu is just dumb. Doubling him in the Shawn clip you showed is right (doubling the main scorer when he’s hot late in the shot clock), but they didn’t double with the right player. The cpu on your team rarely rotate properly, and spacing is terrible. They run into you when you call iso, and they Jack up dumb shots early in the clock.

MyCareer stopped hitting in 2K12. Back in 2K10 and 11, all of the current demigods of today were crying because they were getting put in the dleague for being trash and forced to stay there.
You could look up in the forums, people were crying everyday about “I need help” “how do I get out the dleague” “2K made this too hard”.
You also got held accountable for playing selfish or not up to par, sometimes demoted to the bench or even GLeague.
Now it’s cookie catered to everyone to win as long as you have money to spend.

The TRUTH why 2k isn’t the same before is simply map layout and design. Before it wasn’t split into 2 (rise and elite) and the courts had a realistic vibe 👀
The plutons get rid of VC all together. VC is what ruined the game all the hours on hours of grinding the same pass over and over just to get a badge but wait now you gotta keep doing it over and over to get the badge to at least gold. Nobody with a job has time for this anymore this is ridiculous we all just want to play online and can’t even do that cause the progression is tied to my career and the ridiculous grind for badges
I just don't understand why MyCareer and MyPlayer/Park/Rec STILL arent separate game modes..... They know they'd miss out on so much money fr. Make it fun for the people who just want pure NBA career simulation bro we shouldn't have to play the same game as people who want to buy VC and left right cheese all damn day on rec

This is my first 2k ive baought since 2k17 so its been refreshing playing again butttt i will say so much is just ugggh. I miss making a player that can mac out 99 on multiple (if not all stats). I hate how it essentially plays second fiddle to park. I also miss when cpu was actually hard, damn near ridiculous lol. An example, 2k14 (my fav) i played on the pacers as a pg we met the lebron heatles in the conference finals . Every gane went to overtime all contentious, has to be the hardest 2k challenge ive ever had also the most fun. Also in the old games i never had 100 pt games. Ive had multiple 105 games in 2k24, my best is 112 and the team overll scored 200 pts. Obviously different era but man what happened to the game i love.
Bruh the mycareer AI has been horrid ever since its inception. Its always been 9v1. You playing against the other team, but also your teammates that are trying to sabotage you.
haven't like mycareer ever since Darren Collison broke my vertebrae back in 2012 tried getting back into it in 2017 but broke my ankle
