Najbardziej rozdzierający hymn, dla poległych Bohaterów Ukrainy. Nigdy nie słuchałam go bez łez,bo po prostu to niemożliwe. Bohaterom Ukrainy Chwała.

It is impossible for a Ukrainian to listen to this song without a lump in his throat. Tears in the eyes immediately.

From what I’m reading no it’s not
Thanks! This is not just a song, it is the cry of the soul of every mother in Ukraine.
This is a burrial/mourning song traditional to montane Ukraine. The duck swimming on the river is a metaphor for a soul crossing into the afterlife. Among the lyrics there are lines like "mom, please don't be mad at me, if you'll be mad at me at bad times, I might die in a faraway place." And a mom's response in the end "how could I be mad at you? You lay on my heart." (The translation is very rough) the Pikardiyska Tercia is an accapella group, famous in Ukraine. They are not priests, but the song itself does have such sound. In modern days, it has regained popularity during the Revolution of dignity 2014. It was a favourite song of one of the fallen activists, so that is how the people said goodbye to him, and then to the other fallen. It has continued it's decades (and century) long tradition of being mourning song for the fallen heroes. On a scale of a full war, the Mom in the song has once more begun to mean the country, saying goodbye to her fallen sons, making the lyrics striking not just personally but also nationaly.
As a Ukrainian, I agree with every word.
Why do you have so much garbage in your head? This song is not in the style, as you say, of mountainous Ukraine, that is, the Carpathians. This is music from the expanses of the city of Sumy, Kiev.
Thank you very Olena 👊🏾
@@UNCLEMOMO Do you punch a deer in the face?
Thank you for sharing
This is sound of pain of all Ukrainian. Can't listen this without tears 💔💔💔. This is very important song, because Ukraine has been burying heroes of the Revolution of Dignity and war heroes since 2014 under this song
And this song with come to light again 🙏🏽
Thank you, Momo! Every time when I listen to this song I get a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes. This song is dedicated to Ukrainians who died in the fight for the freedom of Ukraine. For me it is like a prayer. 🙏💔💛💙
Respect Nick, so many comment share your thoughts, I’ve learnt so much about this song.
Every time I hear this song I am crying like a child. And remember all the people who died for our future, for our freedom.
Wow great words
This song is a pure representation of our pain and loss deep in our heart. The scars that never heal 😔
It's a metaphoric conversation of a child (duckling) and his mother. The child is dead somewhere far from home. It desribes feelings of losing life and losing a child. Mother can't even bury the child, but some strangers may do this. And swimming of a duckling is a symbol of life in this song. It has a very deep and metaphoric meaning. For many years this song is used during funeral ceremonies or moments of silence. This song is a grief put into music .
Thank you for breaking it down for yo understand much appreciate
It has been explained to my hundreds of times since I have reacted to it check out the comments.
This is the unofficial anthem of the Heavenly Hundred, who died during the Revolution of Dignity (Euromaidan) in 2013-2014. To this song, the coffins of the fallen heroes were carried.
The song is performed in the Lemki dialect. I cannot translate the lyrics of the song literally because of my poor knowledge of English. I always cry to this song, it conveys all the pain of my people.
You r English is fine ❤️
This melody is the quintessence of the deepest grief and sorrow for each and every Ukrainian. This is not a song, it is the lament of the wounded soul of my people
It can be used as a test for being a true Ukrainian to the bottom of your soul. If you are not crying and can breathe normally while hearing it - you are not Ukrainian (that is not anyhow bad, just a fact). It have been 9 years since it regained it's traditional use of requiem for those, killed in action (not just dead, it is very specific and used only for fallen warriors or defenders), we are hearing this song alot, especially in 2022, but EACH time it just brokes your soul to shreds and makes you cry, no matter that it is the 1000 time you hear it
Ukrainians can't listen this song without tears 🥺
Yes I’m seeing this 🇬🇧❤️🇺🇦
This is a son's song to his mother who died in the war. The whole sadness is that the son asks the mother not to cry, and how can the mother not cry when the son has passed away. Today, this is the song with which we bury our soldiers! our Heroes of Ukraine. Our hearts are overwhelmed with pain and grief!
Very true, they say the parents must never see their children buried before them ❤️👊🏾

It's funeral hymn of Ukraine
I remember to stand up next time 🧐

Me too. Slava Ukraine. Heroyem slava.
Thank you for falling in love with a Ukrainian song and promoting it on your channel. This is very important for Ukrainians, who were previously indistinguishable from Russians.
It is especially pleasing that you are introducing to the world performers who, unfortunately, are no longer young, but are very popular in Ukraine. Acapella singing of the Picardy third is not for dancing and entertainment, but their concerts always gathered full halls.
Thank you for watching my reaction and leaving a lovely comment for me to read 🇬🇧❤️🇺🇦
translates literally to “the duckling swims”, In Ukrainian Culture, Ducks Swimming, is symbolic of the Crossing of the Waters from physical Life to Death…
thus then to the other side and to Heaven. Here it is of the River Tysyni.
- the lyrics are a dialogue between a mother and a son going off to war----- My dear mother, what will happen to me if I die in a foreign land? Well, my dearest, you will be buried by other people. Will you grieve over me Mother? How could I not grieve, my Son? For You have just lain across my Heart ❤💔💙💛

Cant listen to this song without tears. feels like it was yesterday, not years ago.
Thanks for the vid.
Thanks for listening
This song is the essence of grief. Yeah every time I hear it i get chills too. I think the music is based in the Orthadox Church liturgical music tradition. Serious stuff. First time I heard the song it was a video of a funeral of several soldiers for one village. The people lined the street, kneeling in the dirt and snow. It was very moving. Ukrainians know how to demonstrate honor. Slava Ukraine.
It is very moving, you can really feel the importance
Virginia, thank you, you've got the essence.
It's impossible not to cry while listening to this song. Too many deaths of our heroes. Revolution of Dignity. Donbas since 2014 and now the war...
Thank you 💛 💙
Hey, swims the duckling, on the Tysyn,
Swims, the duckling, on the Tysyn.
Oh, dear mother, don't scold me so,
Oh dear mother, don't scold me so,
Hey, you scandal us, in this, evil hour,
Scandal you us, in this, evil hour,
Myself, I do not know, where I will die,
Myself I do not know, where I will die,
Hey, I will perish, in a land foreign,
Perish will I, in a foreign land.
Who, among us, will, take a pit?
Who among us, will take a pit?
Hey, Strangers for us, will now choose,
For us will strangers , now choose.
For you, will this not be, sorrow, dear mother?
For you will this not be sorrow, dear mother?
Hey, how can this not be, my son sorrow for me?
For me, how can this not be, sorrow my son?
For you, had lain, on my dear heart,
For you had lain on, my dear heart.
Hey, swims the duckling, on the Tysyn,
Swims the duckling on, the Tysyn.

This song received a second breath as a funeral song after the shooting of protesters at the Revolution of Dignity in Kyiv. This funeral song accompanied many videos, many farewells to the dead, first protesters and then soldiers.
There are songs that are needed that keep on breathing
@@UNCLEMOMO Thank you!
Judging from the description in the wiki, the song was first recorded in the 1940s in Transcarpathia. The song was sung by the Ukrainian insurgent army during World War II. It was also popular in the 1950s, when the rebel army continued its underground struggle against the USSR.

it's polyphonic singing, this is an accapella Ukrainian group. This group is known for their accapella vocals. the song has a history but suffice to say that this is not about a duck swimming but is an illustration of something else.

I can't listen to this song without tears. It's always painful. Because of certain dialectical words, an accurate translation may not be enough. That's why it's sometimes hard to explain why this song feels so bitter from its words. But I assure you, for every Ukrainian, this song is very painful.
Omg this song was representing Maidan in 2014 when 100 young men been shot by Russian snipers from roofs in center of Kyiv city

Oh, duckling floats on Tisyna*1
Duckling floats on Tisyna.

Oh, if you will swear me at dark hour,
If you will swear me at dark hour.
I don't know where I'll die,
I don't know where I'll die.
Oh, I'll die on foreign lands
I will die on foreign lands.
Who will prepare a grave for me?
Who will prepare a grave for me?
Oh, another people will prepare,
Strangers will prepare.
Won't you regret, mother?
Won't you regret, mother?
Oh, my son, how could I not regret?
My son, how could I not regret?
You were laying on my heart,
