Yeah, definitely looking forward to the 64-bit version if they can get it working. It's amazing what this developer has done in such a short timeframe; apparently he started working on it on Friday!

I hope the people who develop this custom firmwares for the RG351P will also address the issue of the small fonts in RetroArch and in many themes for EmulationStation. It would be absolutely grete to have 351ELEC with a custom 480x320 aware and optimized them for ES and RA.
Hi Paolo, good points. There is a new firmware called ArkOS (video coming soon) that optimized its themes before release. The RA text is still pretty small but it seems a bit bigger than on EmuELEC and 351ELEC.
@@RetroGameCorps Good to know, RA text scaling is pretty bad, it keeps cutting text and the screen is taken in large part by the useless icons on the left of the menu. RGUI is better but its font size is fixed, if they can pull a better font scaling I'd install it :)
Atomiswave and Dreamcast games still works better on ArkOS with Retrorun and Flycast combo. IT stutters a lot on ELEC firmware. Hopefully they will fix it in the future. I hope someone will make a new firmware with all the fixes and updates all together :) This is amazing little device and supprisingly powerful.

I assume you using Windows, yes? Then you should assign a drive letter to this partition (you can do in in the Disk Management section of the Windows Control Panel.
I was using the oldest version of 351elec, then, when i update it, i'm not able to play any of my ps1 games anymore... they don't even show when i start my rg351p. What can i do?
Hi bought an rg351p and it was fine the first day I got it, but the day after the system was not booting. I saw in a lot of forums that the SD cards that come with the device die quickly, so I bought a better SD card and installed the 351ELEC v2.0 on it, and after inserting the card in the handheld, the rg351p screen shows “file system corruption has been detected!” And “Your system is broken beyond repair. Please re-install 351ELEC” I re installed it, the same version 2.0 and also tried with the v1.0.11 and it always shows the “corruption” message. I am not sure if this happens due to the SD cards, or the handheld itself. I used a Mac and the ApplePi baker to write the .img in the SD cards, if you had a similar problem please let me know.
I'm having so much trouble to get my RG351v to work straight out of the box & could really use some MAC-based assistance that I can't seem to find anywhere. (I'm running a 2020 MacBook Pro.) SD card came blank with no games or BIOS, so I've been trying to install 351ELEC and/or ArkOS. But there's also trouble getting ApplePiBaker to Flash the 351ELEC .img file to my brand new SD card; When it's NOT a decompressed .img file, PiBaked cannot open it. When it IS decompressed, it doesn't recognize any files as compatible for the Flash (every other option is greyed out & unclickable.) I've even tried other image writers! At this point I'm near giving up Been combing through all these links & multiple videos, & discord servers for some hint of information as to what I'm doing/not doing but I'm starting to feel like I just wasted $100 (plus the money spent on new SD cards). Any help would be greatly appreciated!
I just loaded 351ELEC on my RG351P last night but none of the games open full screen on it. Some games, like CPS1 Street Fighter are just a tiny square screen in the middle. Ecco for Genesis loads almost full screen but there are black lines on each side. Please help @retrogamecorps!!!
Beginner question: Do I need to format the new SD card in a certain format before flashing the image of 351 Elec with Windows Disk Imager? Or does this happen automatically by using Windows disk format I the right format?
I tried the 351 firmware but it slowed my system down so much, for example it was taking 18 seconds to load SNES roms, and the system was freezing up when opening up different cores. I went back to the stock Firmware and my system is working fine again. I tried version 2.0 of 351.
Hey, thank you for the video! I've installed the 352elec and copied my games into the games folders but some games I could not find on my RG351. Thanks for this awesome vid. When i flashed this rom, i got a notification that i should format this card, before using it? I booted up my 351 and the flash worked, with no games. However when i plug my SD back in, in the "GAMES" folder, there are no sub folders for games?
I had to use the disk partition program Mini Disk Partition Wizard to label the games partition letter G, then windows was able see it. I used letter G but you can pick any letter.
You can play the game with the frameskip off, and it actually plays at a smooth 60FPS about 75% of the time. The other 25% of the time (when you drive by busy scenes, like a crowd), it can dip down to about 45 FPS. I like having the auto frameskip feature on so that I can have smooth gameplay most of the time, and frameskipping to get past those dips.
I have a Question: out of all the OGA clones, and the OGA itself, which one is the best?!? My Plan is to have one 1tb sd card with everything including PlayStation , then another smaller card with the rest of the systems like Dreamcast, psp, that don’t play the entire library ... Hi, I'm using a MAC and after I used ApplePiBaker to copy the files to the new SD card I don't see the petitions after I put back into RG351P to boot then back to Mac. What should I do?
Are you unzipping the img file before burning? This is the exact process I do, I use ApplePiBaker on my Mac to burn it, then load into the RG351P, then put back into my Mac.
Hi, it's been really wonky. For the most part all three do equally well, but then some random games will do better on the updated 3.7 stock firmware (like the God of War games -- not great, mind you), while others will do better on 351ELEC or ArkOS. In general, none of them are great for PSP, but you can get decent gameplay out of about 1/2 of the games on the market.
Could you tell us the site you use to download the rooms or make the files available to us? The sites I use always end up with a bug. BTW, your channel is wonderful and helps a lot in the first steps!
If you don't see a drive letter named GAMES when you plug the SD card into a card reader, it's most likely that Windows did not automatically assign a drive letter to that partition on your SD card. This can be resolved by going to disk management (type disk management in the search bar in Windows 10 and select the first control panel app that comes up at the top as the best match), then going to the SD card with the GAMES partition label, then assign a drive letter to the GAMES partition by right clicking on the GAMES partition and selecting Assign Drive Letter or Change Driver letter and Path, then follow the directions from there. Once completed, the drive should show up under My Computer. You typically only need to ever do this once on the Windows machine.
Question to OP: Doesn't the old 3.7 already have FAT32 Game folder drive? And I remember there were released of official 3.8 and 3.9 firmware for EmuELEC that can be used on RG351. What does 351Elec offer more than the 3.9? Just wondering because I have just ordered a RG351 after watching your new review. Great stuff, I want to prepare before it comes in the mail.
Hi, yes the 3.7 has a FAT32 partition, but the 3.8 and 3.9 updates don’t have that partition. So up until today it’s been a trade off - upgrade to 3.9 but lose the FAT32 partition. This firmware is the best of both worlds, plus it has the PSP update that until now only worked with 3.7.
Could you test and see if WFF: No Mercy works with the new update? I almost never see anyone bring up No Mercy when doing testing or whatever. That game is one of the greatest games on the N64. Even if you're not a wrestling fan, the gameplay mechanics are simple and addicting. People still mod that game, even today.
Hi, I just tested it on 351ELEC v1.04 (the latest release), and it runs pretty well! I would say that it's about 90% full speed with the Parallel RetroArch core.
@@RetroGameCorps Thanks for doing that for me! Those old AKI wrestling games are great, some of the best ever. I'm torn between the Rg351P and the Retroid Pocket 2.
I'm very new to this, and I just ordered a 351P for myself, hopefully coming in soon. Watching this video, I'm a bit confused.... is this a flash update that I want to get, or should I stay on the OEM that comes with the device? I'm totally excited for things that make the user experience better. I got the 351P because of the ease of use, as I'm not a modder and I want something that will just work.
Hi, the RG351P works relatively well out of the box, but does require some tweaking. 351ELEC (and ArkOS) are alternative operating systems that streamline a lot of the user experience to make it better, but they are optional. I recommend you check out my starter guide, it should walk you through all of the various things you can do on the device and you can then choose how deep you want to go! Either way, I would rest assured that it'll work just fine without any tweaks -- these are simply things you may want to do to get the most out of the device. retrogamecorps.com/2020/11/01/rg351p-starter-guide/
had the same problem. I noticed that I downloaded the wrong (?) version - a file with over 1gb. Go to the release page and download the first file under "assets", which is at the bottom of the first post.

I have tried the same flow six times. Last time I did a slow format of the SD card through DOS. I have downloaded the img file from GitHub many times as well.
Just checking, are you unzipping the img file before flashing? It sounds like you are but I wanted to make sure. Not unzipping has caused issues for some people. Have you tried to flash other firmwares, like ArkOS, on that same card? I'm worried that the card is having issues.

I've tried this with a few games now and gotten the same result. What am I doing wrong?
I think it's missing BIOS files. Check this site to see what are the required files, and then add them to the "bios" folder in your Games partition. github.com/EmuELEC/EmuELEC/wiki/bios

Then I ask where this is the collections of emulators? nintendo Ds, ps1, gameboy ... When you made the video the collections were already there. Did I do something wrong? Sorry my english
Hi Vitor, the other collections of emulators will only appear if you add a rom for that system. So you need to add those games in order for them to appear. But 351ELEC uses the same file structure, with a GAMES partition. If you only have access to Windows 7, you will need to use WiFi FTP to transfer games onto the SD card. After you transfer the games over, the systems will appear in the game menu! Here is information on how to set up WiFi FTP: retrogamecorps.com/2020/10/13/rg351p-file-transfer-guide/#WiFi for general information, and here is for 351ELEC: retrogamecorps.com/2020/11/11/introducing-351elec-a-new-firmware-for-the-rg351p/

I backed up my SD Card games, and I want to reuse the SD Card I was using, I tried to format all the partitions using Disk Genius but now my computer is not recognizing the card, how do I format the entire card so that I can start clean?
I personally use the official SD card formatter from sdcard.org to wipe a card clean. All you have to do is format one of the partitions, and it will format the entire card. www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter/eula_windows/index.html
@@RetroGameCorps I don't know what I did, but I think I trashed this SD Card. I took out the partitions off the card using Disk Genius because I thought I needed to do that to format the card. Then when I restored them, it would not let me assign them disc letters without paying for the full version of the software. So I tried formatting it like you suggested, it seemed to work, but then I flashed it with the new firmware, and when I put the card in the system, it said there was a system error. Now I put the card back in my PC and it's not reading it.
with the stock firmware 3.7, i CAN plug in the micro sd card and add games on it. It will appear to have 2 separate partitions. unless I am missing something?
Yes, you’re right. But 3.8 and 3.9 don’t have that Games partition, which is what makes this firmware so neat - it’s running 3.9 with the same partition style as 3.7.

Gonna wait it out a bit and see if they manage to get the 64-bit version working on this fork before I update from the hacked 3.8 but it's good to know someone took the initiative to actually make an EmuElec fork for this device because I actually really like the OS thus far.
Yeah, definitely looking forward to the 64-bit version if they can get it working. It's amazing what this developer has done in such a short timeframe; apparently he started working on it on Friday!
High quality information and videos! Love your channel.
I appreciate that!
"fewt" from 351ELEC has been putting out a new firmware from the 351 elec guys every other week ! what an amazing rate of progress. I'm sorry but anyone who uses arkOS has to be crazy with the amount of raw hours that goes into the progression it's jaw dropping to me :-) that reminds me I need to find their patreon page love these coders
Yes, he and his team are amazing!
Thanks for the heads-up. Keep it up. 😎👍
I found that some PS1 games (NFS3, NFS4, Carmageddon and could be more) just not working, freezing on the start but in original firmware which comes with it they worked...Please help with that!
Thanks for your great hard work. As a new user I can say this is a very helpful channel for handheld game users. I'm a brand new user to this game. Recently I bought RG351M device. Now, can I install the '351ELEC' for my RG351M device?

how much are you selling for your retroid pocket 2?
I'll trade, I got a black rg351p, can you come to Oklahoma
After installing the new system, it still doesn't see the "Games" partition. What can I do?
When i put it on sd and plug it in it the screen was black and did not boot need help
Thanks for sharing! One question, how to aplly cheats on games?
Bonjour, vidéo super utile MAIS sur la même page de chargement que toi la dernière release d' EmuELEC que je vois est : V1.0 => ?
Bro, i really need help. I have the original firmware sd card + games, when i plug in my sd card it only shows the emulec folder. I can see it in disk manager but HOW do i move files using disk manager? The games folder does NOT show up on my pc just on the «disk manager» :(
I assume you using Windows, yes?
Please re-install 351ELEC”
I re installed it, the same version 2.0 and also tried with the v1.0.11 and it always shows the “corruption” message.
(I'm running a 2020 MacBook Pro.)
SD card came blank with no games or BIOS, so I've been trying to install 351ELEC and/or ArkOS.
But there's also trouble getting ApplePiBaker to Flash the 351ELEC .img file to my brand new SD card;
When it's NOT a decompressed .img file, PiBaked cannot open it.
When it IS decompressed, it doesn't recognize any files as compatible for the Flash (every other option is greyed out & unclickable.)
I've even tried other image writers!
At this point I'm near giving up
Been combing through all these links & multiple videos, & discord servers for some hint of information as to what I'm doing/not doing but I'm starting to feel like I just wasted $100 (plus the money spent on new SD cards).
If I installed New firmware with a new sd card I just wondering if games are automatically added
Thanks to you I succeeded in installing 351elec v2.0 (I'm not very tech savvy)
Question though: what game are playing at the start of this video?
Happy to be of help! The game is Crisis Core Final Fantasy 7 for the PSP.
its not showing the games section when i replugged the sd in just the first section for the firmware pls help
Hey, thank you for the video! I've installed the 352elec and copied my games into the games folders but some games I could not find on my RG351. Some PS1 Games are in seperate folders and I copied these folders into the PS1 folder. Fore example psx/silenthill/Rom. Should I transfer the Files from the sub folder into psx or may these sub folders cause any problems?
Got the Newest update but I'm having trouble with Capcom 1 2 3 display its a smaller ratio and I tried to change it but it doesn't make it bigger. Can you help?
He just said “It doesmt come with the bios so get that” like i know what that means
BIOS are copyrighted so I can't share them, but google "retroarch bios pack" and you'll find what you need.
love it thank you
Where do you get the bios from if you don't have the originals?
github pages says not found
not sure if this is the best place to ask this but, for some reason after switching to this firmware, certain games don't seem to register my inputs. this is not system-specific and i'm having this problem with a game that worked on the original firmware/sd card i used (suikoden ii for ps1, if that helps). not sure if others have encountered this issue but i'm just wondering if you're aware of a possible solution?
Hey, I installed the firmware and put the bios folder onto the new card. However, it says there is missing bios, and I saw the list of missing bios names but I don’t know how or where to get and put the missing bios into the so card. Can someone help?
Does anybody know how to reanable the save shut down function on long press of the power button like in the original firmware? I hate to scroll through the menu to shut down... Thanks.
Do you have to do these steps with every firmware update or is there an on system updater?
The developer is working on an integrated update system, so we should have more info soon.

Thank you for your Video.
But I have one question:
How can I update an existing micro sd card (including games) with emuelec 3.9?

Great video! Where do you put the Colecovision bios? How should it be named? I put it in the bios folder but it keeps coming up colecovision bios is missing when I try to run a game. I'm using 351ELEC v 1.7. Any ideas?
do you still have the link? grithub is not working anymore
im totally new to this. i just bought rg351p and a 256gb sd card seperate. most of the games bring up an error page about the emulec when i boot up a game. its fine when i switch to the stock sd it came with. what do i do?
Thanks for this awesome vid. When i flashed this rom, i got a notification that i should format this card, before using it? I booted up my 351 and the flash worked, with no games. However when i plug my SD back in, in the "GAMES" folder, there are no sub folders for games?
I had to use the disk partition program Mini Disk Partition Wizard to label the games partition letter G, then windows was able see it. I used letter G but you can pick any letter.
What is the aarch64?
Do the Ridge Racer games work at 60fps on this FW??
I’m currently using the Pocket go 2. (first model)
i get an error in win32 saying image file cannot be located on the target device. Do you have any advice?
can i download latest version from hub to a smaller card (only got smaller at home) unzip-win32 , reboot and put stockcard in again? or will i break something?
How do you unbrick the console?
Thank you 😊
You're welcome 😊

Hi, I'm using a MAC and after I used ApplePiBaker to copy the files to the new SD card I don't see the petitions after I put back into RG351P to boot then back to Mac. What should I do?
Are you unzipping the img file before burning? This is the exact process I do, I use ApplePiBaker on my Mac to burn it, then load into the RG351P, then put back into my Mac.
Can you overclock the cup with this firmware? Can arkos or batocera?
Hi bro', thanks for all your video guides, what is for you the best firmware for playing PSP games on the RG351?
Hi, it's been really wonky. For the most part all three do equally well, but then some random games will do better on the updated 3.7 stock firmware (like the God of War games -- not great, mind you), while others will do better on 351ELEC or ArkOS. In general, none of them are great for PSP, but you can get decent gameplay out of about 1/2 of the games on the market.
Could you tell us the site you use to download the rooms or make the files available to us? The sites I use always end up with a bug. BTW, your channel is wonderful and helps a lot in the first steps!
Hi, unfortunately I cannot share ROM sources.
Sotware failure for the DS emulator, do you have a solution ?
Hi newbie here, I just need help, mine did not create a GAMES folder when I write the the 351 ELEC in my microsd.
@@RetroGameCorps Oh i understand now, thanks for your response. Sounds real good. I will upgrade to this as soon as i get my rg351. Thanks!
I just got an rg351p still trying to figure out how to use it
Could you test and see if WFF: No Mercy works with the new update?

So if I purchased a loaded card 256 game card that says it has 351elec, I just remove the factory 64 GB and put in the new card? Will it update to new OS? Will I have issues? New to the emulators.. thanks for awesome channel
Hi, it should theoretically work fine, the OS is on the card itself.
It’s tooo fast. Where do I get the game files from?
This firmware works great on all systems except I get no sound on gameboy and gameboy color. If I switch cores from gambatte to sameboy the sound is normal. Maybe something wrong with the gambatte core...
Does this work for the 350M? I ordered that one.
Unfortunately this is only for the RG351P. The350M uses a different operating system.
@@RetroGameCorps ah right. I bought the 350m because you said in a review that it had a lower boot up time than the RP2 and some cool custom games like doom pre-installed. Are you on Windows 10? Older versions of Windows won't recognize the SD card partitions, unfortunately.

I'm totally unable to install this new firmware. Is anyone running through the same problem? I have download the img.gz file from GitHub, formatted the SD card, flashed the img to the SD card using Win32DiskImager but when I insert it into RG351P I see the following error screen: "SYSTEM FAILURE / booting fail! check kernel and dtb images!" -- then the device powers off.
@@RetroGameCorps I haven't unzipped the img.gz file. Should I? I don't think so. In the end I installed ArkOS using another SD card but I'll try to install ArkOS with this card to check if that's the problem! 👍
@@thiagocapanema1360 yes definitely unzip! I think I mention that in my most recent video, the developer also recommends unzipping.
Hey guys....quick question about the Saturn core. I've tried this with a few games now and gotten the same result. What am I doing wrong?
I should mention that I'm running 351elec.
I think it's missing BIOS files. Check this site to see what are the required files, and then add them to the "bios" folder in your Games partition. github.com/EmuELEC/EmuELEC/wiki/bios
Hello Bro Retro Game Corps it's me again, so you were right windows 7 does not appear the GAMES folder, only windows 10.

So I tried formatting it like you suggested, it seemed to work, but then I flashed it with the new firmware, and when I put the card in the system, it said there was a system error. Now I put the card back in my PC and it's not reading it.
