in today's video we will be doing a Step by step installation guide for the new stock os firmware update for the Anbernic RG35XXH and Plus.
but this will also cover any custom firmware cfw for installation on the H,Plus and xx models.

You want to use the modified version of stock os, Stock OS Mod 4. Also YMMV with Balena Etcher, Rufus is generally more widely recommended for installing OS onto the SD card. Modified stock OS allows you to run ssh script in the RA folder in SD card 1 to do things like install custom themes.

So what about the 64gb image folder? There are a bunch of z files which make a 64gb image and another 64gb image in a zip file. Are they the same? Does this one have all the ROMs like the original SD card?

In regards to using the second sd card don't you have to put the blank card t in the slot to configure it before adding games to the said card? Or just pop it in full of games roms?

Does the second SD card have a bios folder? Cause mine didn't when I popped it in the card reader and idk if I can just create a folder
Yes y I u can just create the folders for the roms and bios add them and then you are good to go
Question: do the sd cards need to be in fat32 format (either of them - the one with the os, or the 2nd one with the games)? Or is exfat fine?
Fat 32 is fine, the only difference with exfat is you can upload lager roms to it like ps2, wii, game things like that

Do I need to update the previous firmware version before proceeding to update the v1.1 or this is not necessary? And omg its 59GB which I assume one folder is the Stock OS and the other are the ROMs as you mentioned there will be 2 folders after extraction. If only someone is able to just upload the Stock OS folder in either one drive, google drive and provide a link download on this. This would be very helpful to others.
I know right it's a pain in the backside, however hopefully someone will do this to help. And no you just need to flash the latest version to a SD card and you are good to go

Do I need to add bios to the 2nd "game" card? Or is there sufficient bios already within the stock os on the 1st "system" card? And is there a way to unify multiple disc PS1 games (Disc 1, Disc 2...)as in ArkOS?
I did add my roms and bios to my 2nd SD card yes not sure if it included the bios in the first sd card will have to check, yes should be OK with fusion on the games but I personally have not tested that

Do you have to use two SD cards? I've only got 1 atm, I assumed it was enough
I would say 2 sd cards and the fist sd card a minimum of 32gb for the os the 16gb dose ot fit on a 16gb card. And when you download it you will get 2 folders one with the os and one with the games. But the games will only be able to go on the 2nd SD card as the os dose not alow te partition to be used or expanded. i.e if you flash the OS to a 128gb card it will lock it at 16gb

Best thing to do is with the original SD card copy the games and bios to your pc or laptop, then get 2 new SD card 1 32gb for the firmware and the 2 SD card for the games and bios
how to prepare second sd card? should i just create same directories as in first card and put in games there?
If you go in to the folders there should be roms and then a folder structure and then just cope that and then put it on to the 2nd sd card and then add games and roms

Yes you should be able to do this with a Mac
So this official UI doesn't have over the air updates?
Sadly no OTA updates have to download it and flash it to update

my device has the original SD cards which are 64gb and 128gb for slot1 and slot2
i plan to get new decent card
so for the TF1 i just need to flash the 64gb one into it
and for the TF2 i just need to copy all the folder in the original SD and paste it in the new SD
is that the step?

Question : Can't run my C64 games, despite this firmware is supposed to do it. I dropped my .d64 files in the C64 folder, but the emulator doesn't show up, nore in the Game rooms neither in the RA game. Anyone managed to do it ?
Answer to myself : the emulator accepts only .t64 files (no .d64).

Stupid question probably but how did the file shrink down to 15 gb when the zipped folder was 59 gb?
It is actually split in to 2 folders one with games 64gb folder and then a 16bg folder for the OS. So if you don't have your own roms or bios then you will need to extract the games folder also.

Just want to double check with you, before starting the latest firmware download, I have to copy all the files from the original SD card provided to the new SD card? As such the original SD card will be for the latest firmware and the new SD card will be for the files for all the games. Am I right? 🤔
There are a few ways but keep the original SD card as if you mess it up or something gose wrong you still have it to use...I would copy the bios and games of the oG sd card and then have 2 new SD cards one 32gb for the firmware and 128gb or higher for games..download the firmware but the 16gb downloaded firmware on the 32fb card and then copy the bios and games to the 2nd new SD card and then you will be food to go man

@@tron962 I use a standard slow charge brick but it dose not take long to charge, if you use higher fast change bricks you will damage the battery in no time
any chance you know of a way to do this on a MacBook Pro?

Peter fp across most psp game more cores added, the screen refresh rate now dose not skip..quite a bit
Im a bit confused so sorry in advance if I sound dumb... new to all this, so lets say I take out the original sd card it came with and completely destroyed it in the lake of fire. What would be the starting point? Do i just download the stock firmware from anbernic and everything will be there as the original sd card??? Great video just confusing my poop brain.
@@chunky129production ha ha it's OK, yes I would get a 128gb card and download the firmware of the Anbernic download page and flash it to a new SD card or you can choose a custom firmware and flash it to a 128gb SD card and then just add the bios and roms to the folders.

balena etcher, 7zip, to flash and extract the firmware to a SD card, the pop it in the rg35xx then back in the laptop and add bios and roms and that's about it man...you have to see if you can use the tools on a crome book
Can we update in rg35xx h only? Or still need pc ?
Sadly not a option, and it should be with it being wifi capable
i know how to install STOCK OS and re flash but I don't know how to install batocera or other CFW... i would love to know that

Well I believe theres no official version of Batocera for this device as yet, so any that you see is obviously modded to run on it.
Not that theres anything wrong with that, just saying if you end up having issues you wont get support from Batocera for it, you would have to go to the creator of the modded Batocera firmware.
@@fonzitheman yup its just a fork of Batocera sadly..and koriki still has a long way to go for being as good as the original or of a official Batocera build
Anyone was able to burn the 16gb on a larger sd card then resize the partition as not to loose the extra space ?
No, I tried to do that with a 128gb card but even with disk Genius I was unable to resize the partition
Got one of these and it got stuck on boot after second ever turn on :,( so now been going through these steps

I can't figure out why they just don't release the FW at 15 gig like they did last time, really random decision by Anbernic!
I know that is a shame especially when they have done it with previous OS images
Mine has been stuck on installing screen for quite a while now. I did a modded original OS install and followed the directions and it said flash successful and then rebooted but still stuck on installing screen. Any ideas here?
I have had that once but not on the rg35xx h but I had to wipe the SD card and then reflash the is and try again

So this all happened because I am using a 2 Micro SD Card solution. I have a ton of roms on a larger card which I want to play but the 64GB card is just not big enough. Upon adding all the other roms in the respective folders seems like the console is not showing those Retroarch emulators with respective games like on the 64GB one. There is like 5 pages of emulators whereas on my 256GB card theres only 2 and i KNOW there are more consoles I have in the roms folder.

Will there be an issue if I flash the OS onto a 128GB card?
You will only have 16gb to use and it will lock the rest of the card so you can't use the rest of the gb like wise if you flash the 64bg with included game rom pack you will then lock the rest of the gb. Best flashing the os to 32bg card and then use the 128bg card for games in the 2nd SD card slot

Depending on what you have downloaded and extracted, you can use the 64gb folder and extract it and use that on the 64gb card but you will need to format the original SD card. But it's always better to use a decent new SD card

@@_iluvrocco you can add new games to the card you have now just check to see how much gb is left or look through the higher end roms you don't want to use and delete them to make room for the games you do

You should just be able to re-fkash it, check there sd card right click and go to properties and if it's not used any gb try re-flashing it. If it has used the space, you will have to use disk Genius to delete the partition and make it fat32 again. Are you using a 16bg card for the firmware? If yes you need to use 32gb card. Not enough space on a 16gb card.
@@SonicLoveEmulation I m using new sandisk 64gb card there is no partition in it, i retry couple of time to flash but still its failing again n again 😞
@@mustaqeempatni6564 not sure why that is, have you tried re formating the SD card in disk Genius? Then refreshing it? The only other thing I can suggest is downloading the firmware again. And did you extract the firmware, and then have 2 folders one 64gb and one 16gb? And if you flash the firmware to a SD card you will not be able to add games to it as it's blocked all other partitions, you have to use a 2nd SD card for the games.
I think getting RG35XXSP which will new firmware on it so I thinking of buying new 2 sd card 256GB for games
And 64GB for firmware
Clone the RG35XXSP onto Well known brands sd cards so I can use these on my RG35XX plus and H model
I like look of RG35XXSP so I'm buying it lol I just need update other models or one model is easy to copy a SD card or clone a SD card

Hey i wanted to inform everyone the if you have a 64 gb card you can download the 64 gb file and it comes with the games AND the os.
Im now going to clean the no brand card and download all the extra games i want on it and ill replace it when it fails

The only difference I noticed with OS 1.1.0 is the new icon for the game . I didn’t notice nothing new.
Snes, used to screen skip and now it's smooth...it was why I preferred to play 8 bit and 16bit games on koriki build but now with the update it runs Mario and donky Kong games very smooth, Amiga and atari st cores have been added, and psp has been optimized but not by much

There is 2 files, 16gb folder and 64gb folder if you want to use the 128gb SD card you will have to use 64gb folder as it locks the SD card after you flash it, that's both 16gb folder on a 128gb card you will have the firmware but you will not be able to use the space on the 128gb card, likewise with the 64gb folder you will only have the 64gb firmware and roms but the rest will be locked

@@RvLicious69 for the firmware I would get a 32gb card and fir the game and bios 128gb or 256gb and if you can keep the OG sd card so you can at least still play it while you sort the new firmware and get it sorted
