I'm glad that you found the video useful! I'm still learning as well, which is a bit weird to say given how old the archetype is. I like to think that a core has at least been sort of established now, but the deck is far from "solved" which is cool! Lots of ways you can take the deck
Sorry for the late upload on this, everyone! But hopefully this proves useful for you all. It's fun being able to run Summoned Skull. Archfiend's Manifestation just looks amazing. I also forgot to add a combo! Summon Tour Guide, summon Fiendish Rhino Warrior. Overlay into Dante, detach Tour Guide and send 3. Send Scarm to summon Beatrice. End Turn, add Dark Spirit of Malice. On their turn, activate Beatrice, detach Rhino Warrior and send Dark Spirit of Banishment then Archfiend Empress (recycle Dark Spirit). This puts both dark spirits in hand, and accompanying this with a Void Apocalypse or something similar, you end up having "full combo!" How's Master Duel going for everyone??
Been waiting forever for this!!! Was gutted that mystic mine wasn't in MD yet, so did a variation to your last video deck. Got to the upper tiers of gold (cbf to learn all meta decks to play against them effectively) and always get a joy when players quit when they see the hand traps come back to my hand each turn 🤣🤣🤣 Seriously though, you made MD fun for me and kept me playing when I wanted to quit, so thanks a whole bunch. I truly mean it 😃

Gold is a nice tier to be in. Sure, it's full of stun decks and the odd Exodia player, but the duels in gold are always fun. Until that one Drytron player comes along...

I’ve taken a lot of your advice in my deck, but I’m kinda surprised you’re not using Falling Down, Archfiend Palabrynth, and I’m also liking Red Resonator. I can’t get Tour Guide yet so this is my cheap, alternative version of Tour Guide. Lol.
Thanks for the kind words! Red Resonator is decent so no harm in running that at all! Falling Down is also fantastic but I tend to run it in the side these days. It's catered more for going second so can get in the way sometimes. But siding it in can be really useful against decks like Swordsoul
Ive never played Archfiends but i thought the cards were pretty cool and interesting. Its a bit different to the Karakuri/Yang Zing decks i run. I also like that you fully explains cards, tactics aswell as showing off combo's. For that you got my Sub ^^
I know this is an older build, but I just want to say you’re a hero. Necrofear’s my favorite monster because of the anime, and I’ve been looking for a deck Curse Necrofear can be used in since I started playing. I know the main point of the deck is the Archfiends themselves, but hearing Curse Necrofear being talked about so reverently is something I never thought I’d see. Still holding out for the new Dark World support, but Archfiends look super awesome! Might finally get to see Curse’s sick animation in Master Duel.
Dark Necrofear in particular is one of my favourite cards in this game. Such a cool theme and style. And Curse is just a ridiculously good tech in Archfiends which makes it hard to pass up I'm surprised it got an animation to be honest! Something that I welcome with open arms, ha

@@TheArchfiendGuy I still play commander at 3, instead of the berserk or plague spreader (I have to seriously try those cards out) With archfiend oath at 2 and a 1 palabyrinth and tour guide at 3 i find it really easy to bring out and make Beatrice using two lvl 6. Also with skill drain commander comes down for free... also a fiendish rhino stops commander pop effect. Plenty of ways to get a body for free The truth is this deck is surprisingly versatile, and every week you can play a different build.
100% agree on the versatility. I've moved away from a slower control based play for now, but if I went back to that then I can easily see cards like Deck Devastation being easily splashed. Nice Commander interaction! I do like him as an extender but the attack restriction is just so unnecessary
Nice arc type explanation! Would be open to creating a mix of red dragon archfiend arc and this kind of archfiend arc seeing as they could play off one another

It was a bit of an ahah moment for me too! I kept thinking, "wait a minute..." Oath gives you that extra step to think about which I find interesting. What you place on top of the deck can be utilised in different ways. Do you want cards in hand to use with cards like Call of the Archfiend, or do you want to dump them for additional effects? It's a quick way to trigger an Heiress effect which is nice! Combine with Masterking Archfiend and you can recycle all sorts of stuff. Breaking Archfiend of Gilfer would be awesome! Do let me know once you've figured something out
Damn! I guess because Gilfer just places himself back on the board. Since the effect activates in the GY, it counts as a monster activation Ah well! Gilfer could still prove useful I reckon

Manticore can Special himself the Turn He was sent to the gy when you discard nefariousness and nefariousness triggers and destroys manticore resulting in a Infinite Special summon loop. With a back fire you can burn for 500 lp each time
I'm not sure I'm following completely. Archfiend Eater revives itself once per turn and neither it nor Manticore have a 500lp burn effect. I'm assuming you're talking about Manticore of Darkness? What can we use this for since they both trigger during the end phase?
Dude, are you as hyped as I am for the new Labrynth fiend archtype? Looks like some amazing synergy with how much Archfiends love traps and GY setup. Two of them are even Archfiend cards, one of which is a trap that foolishes! Probably the biggest thing to happen for us since the Dark Spirits
I am unbelievably hyped for the new Labrynth archetype! They provide so much for Archfiends and I can't wait to get stuck in with them. A searchable Fiend Griefing is just amazing. I love Labrynth Archfiend as well because it means we can now run Pandemonium efficiently Onwards and upwards! Many great things to come

I Saw a vídeo of teamsamurai with jesse kotton vs farfa And triff where they are locked into the archetypes they roll, Jesse got archfiend, he couldnt use all your cards but i though the archetype was kinda bad, but your vídeo showed that has a Lot of possibilities And techs for the future, the deck is not meta but seems much more cooler than i though unfortunately not putting negate can be problematic vs the meta, either on master duel or tcg, maybe ur strategy can work vs brave i heard they cant get over ignister arrival with 5k but at least in master duel, a Lot of those decks can roll over the whole revival thing, from negating to using shuraig etc And tbh on Platinum is where u find all those people, i myself suffered with mekk invoked there, i wish archfiend received a negate for their deck or other things But still theres a Lot of cool things, going into cherubini, using the spitits, the fusion tactics with oath
Yeah the archetype is definitely dated! It's a huge drawback but hopefully they get some fresh new support in the near future. Negates are always going to be a problem, so with a deck like Archfiends you really need to make every move count. But sometimes even then it's just not enough. I can see Konami trying to make Summoned Skull meta before Archfiends, which is fine I suppose. I'd love an Archfiend fusion spell and counter trap!
Would you consider running some copies of ready fusion and add a Soul Hunter to the extra deck to go along with Theseus? Level 6 fiend for Beatrice or an extra body for free when you need it.
Sounds like a good idea! Ready Fusion is way too expensive right now though... Not too mention the price of those generic fusion monsters! It's definitely worth considering though

Yeah both of those! You can also run Dark Spirit's Mastery to search Lava Golem. What's great about this is that you can summon Lava Golem using Dark Spirit of Banishment/Malice (and his effect is negated!) You can also run Falling Down going second to Snatch Steal stuff, and maybe run the Undead Vampire so the the stolen monster can act as a level 8 material

Wow, I was leaning towards making my deck like this, but I didnt go with the summon skull and patchwork, which i forgot existed, and is way better than my edge imp/charge into dark world combo. You completely fixed my bricking problem! Also does linking away Emperor allow for a Berserk dragon summon?
Charge into a Dark World is probably still useful! I honestly forgot that card existed so thanks for that! I'll have to check it out What do you do with it? And yup, Emperor getting linked off does allow for a Berserk Dragon summon, which makes Masterking extra relevant. Also keep in mind that it just has to be ANY level 8 or higher monster leaving your field. So if you fusion into Trishula and it dies, that satisfies the criteria. If you summon Chaos Ruler and it dies, that satisfies the criteria A Deal With Dark Ruler is live more often than you'd think! It just sucks when you hard draw Berserk Dragon...
@@TheArchfiendGuy Thats great that linking off Emperor works. I always thought it didnt so I thought i was bricking. I used Ahrima the Wicked Warden to search Lair, then i would use charge on Imp or Rhino to send Imp and revive Ahrima, I would then summon Imp and tribute it to search a boss and/or summon Diabolos cause I ran 3 trade in. Its really bricky and wasnt worth the payoff
I've been playing your unchained archfiend deck and in gold 4 atm just got back into the game so thanks for updating my old deck seems I gotta update it again with this build. If u got a chance how much is this build in materials in master duel
I have no idea how many materials the deck costs! Unfortunately there's a few URs, especially in the extra deck but the majority of the cards are SR so stock up on those
I haven't used the Unchained one on Master Duel yet so I'm not sure. I do like that build though. It's fun and probably has a stronger first turn with Unchained Soul of Rage. I do like the idea of running a more pure build though. Manifestation looks awesome and Berserk Dragon is a great and unexpected play to make!
What about morphing jar and card destruction? Basically making the deck play from the graveyard by discarding your hand to draw, and add in chicken game,
Morphing Jar is pretty cool and works well, but it's a flip monster so it's a little slow. Chicken Game is banned in the TCG, same with Graceful Charity Trade In can be quite good! Just depends on how many level 8s you run. Allure of Darkness can be decent as well

Hey! Do you mean Skull Archfiend of Lightning? He definitely has one of the coolest artworks out of all of them, but the only problem is that his name doesn't count as "Summoned Skull" so I can't use him as fusion material for Manifestation. Otherwise I definitely would play him! Especially because he's got some built in protection. For his time, he was a decent Archfiend boss monster, but these days he's a bit outclassed. But I'm always up for playtesting and looking at new builds. Empress can still summon him, so he can still be useful

No worries! It's such a shame that Skull Archfiend of Lightning isn't "more" useful I can't wait for Konami to gift us more Summoned Skull support but I have no idea what that'd look like. A level 8 fiend type Archfiend synchro would be amazing, as well as a rank 8 Archfiend
Pandemonium is almost broken but the problem is that it doesn't search anything that useful. Heiress is a great target but Pandemonium is lacking targets that can extend your plays in a meaningful way As soon as Konami gives us better Archfiend support, I reckon Pandemonium will get crazy quickly. Having said that, it does have a few uses. It can chain block your Dark Spirit monsters so your opponent can't ghost belle them. You can also generate crazy advantage with it. Recently I've found that you can use High Rate Draw with Pandemonium for a potential +4 on the opponent's turn. It's wild But yeah, Pandemonium isn't too impactful right now. At least from what I can see. It's my favourite field spell of the two though, so if I can find an excuse to run it then I definitely will
What about archfiend palabrynth instead of fiend griefing? Can summon red dragon archfiend and then get out archfiend empress/archfiend emperor with the palabrynth effect
Palabyrinth is decent but the banish effect isn't great. It's definitely a good Archfiend card though and somewhat underrated. I should probably run it to be honest
Probably pretty decent! Super Poly is very powerful as well. You might be able to get away with main decking it these days, it certainly as a side deck option. The only issue with Super Poly is that it can eat up a lot of Extra Deck space but that's not necessarily a bad thing if it wins you games
Yeah exactly, it's a good card. So long as there are decent dark targets. Last format wasn't great for it due to bird up being mainly wind. Same with Flowendereeze But maybe it's better now that PK are on the rise
Yeah you're right! You could also run Lilith which will give you access to some synergistic trap cards, like Dark Sacrifice. Or just general control stuff
So i built the deck on Master Duel and it's amaizing you are a genius, there's just one problem and it's Heiress because sometime her effect doesn't go off for example with Cherubini's effect or if i send her by chance with Dante or Oath she just doesn't do anything, Do you know why?
Heiress is very clunky... She can search anything but if you send her via cost then nothing happens. Cherubini and Dante sent via cost so she doesn't activate Sending her with Oath should work though! Weird if it doesn't o.o
Archfiends is dear to me. They were the 2nd Deck I ever created on my own on LotD without any guides after returning to yugioh since 2004. Dark World was my 1st. I really needed DW to get through that game lol. I still play Archfiends on Link Evolution. As the go to person on Archfiends, would you be willing to check and critique my deck? I tried to keep it as pure as possible, so I know it's not competitive or anything

I dislike that some cards can't be dismantled. I think structure decks and maybe some legacy pack stuff? Not sure but it's annoying having cards I'll never use just sit there when I could be crafting with them
@@TheArchfiendGuy structure deck is fine, but not being able to dismantle legacy stuff is annoying as hell... some cards are borderline useless like a lot of vanilla monsters in there with low atk they're stuck in my account now :/
Up to you, really! Depends if you want to beef up your going first, have going second blowouts, or a bit of both. I like running Lava Golems, Sphere Modes and Mystic Mine in the side. I also like Archfiend specific techs that we can summon relatively easily such as The End of Anubis, Chaos Hunter, and Invader of Darkness

Yeah for sure you can run those as well! There's plenty of flexibility when it comes to this deck. Nibiru is a solid option, same with cards like Torrential Tribute!
I'm also making a TCG legal deck I think the added challenge is nice and the practice will be helpful irl once I've gotten my deck. why in God's name is forbidden droplet and lightning storm over $100 for one card fuckkkkkkk

Yeah gems can be a pain to get but at least the xyz festival gave us a bunch! I think most of the cards in this deck are SR so save those up!
Very interesting build... The Edge Imp package is pretty neat. I would recommand Zeus for the Extra Deck, though.
Yeah Zeus is a nice panic button and at least it's a bit more affordable now too in real life

I have never thought of archfiend oath in Combination with plaguespreader Zombie. I will totally try this out myself. Keep up the good content man, next time we can maybe try to Break archfiend gilfer.

It was a bit of an ahah moment for me too! I kept thinking, "wait a minute..."
Oath gives you that extra step to think about which I find interesting. What you place on top of the deck can be utilised in different ways. Do you want cards in hand to use with cards like Call of the Archfiend, or do you want to dump them for additional effects? It's a quick way to trigger an Heiress effect which is nice! Combine with Masterking Archfiend and you can recycle all sorts of stuff.
Breaking Archfiend of Gilfer would be awesome! Do let me know once you've figured something out

Damn! I guess because Gilfer just places himself back on the board. Since the effect activates in the GY, it counts as a monster activation

Manticore can Special himself the Turn He was sent to the gy when you discard nefariousness and nefariousness triggers and destroys manticore resulting in a Infinite Special summon loop. With a back fire you can burn for 500 lp each time
I'm not sure I'm following completely. Archfiend Eater revives itself once per turn and neither it nor Manticore have a 500lp burn effect. I'm assuming you're talking about Manticore of Darkness?

Dude, are you as hyped as I am for the new Labrynth fiend archtype? Looks like some amazing synergy with how much Archfiends love traps and GY setup. Two of them are even Archfiend cards, one of which is a trap that foolishes! Probably the biggest thing to happen for us since the Dark Spirits

A searchable Fiend Griefing is just amazing. I love Labrynth Archfiend as well because it means we can now run Pandemonium efficiently

I Saw a vídeo of teamsamurai with jesse kotton vs farfa And triff where they are locked into the archetypes they roll, Jesse got archfiend, he couldnt use all your cards but i though the archetype was kinda bad, but your vídeo showed that has a Lot of possibilities And techs for the future, the deck is not meta but seems much more cooler than i though
unfortunately not putting negate can be problematic vs the meta, either on master duel or tcg, maybe ur strategy can work vs brave i heard they cant get over ignister arrival with 5k but at least in master duel, a Lot of those decks can roll over the whole revival thing, from negating to using shuraig etc And tbh on Platinum is where u find all those people, i myself suffered with mekk invoked there, i wish archfiend received a negate for their deck or other things
But still theres a Lot of cool things, going into cherubini, using the spitits, the fusion tactics with oath
Yeah the archetype is definitely dated! It's a huge drawback but hopefully they get some fresh new support in the near future.
Negates are always going to be a problem, so with a deck like Archfiends you really need to make every move count. But sometimes even then it's just not enough.
I can see Konami trying to make Summoned Skull meta before Archfiends, which is fine I suppose.
I'd love an Archfiend fusion spell and counter trap!

Would you consider running some copies of ready fusion and add a Soul Hunter to the extra deck to go along with Theseus? Level 6 fiend for Beatrice or an extra body for free when you need it.
Sounds like a good idea! Ready Fusion is way too expensive right now though... Not too mention the price of those generic fusion monsters!

Yeah both of those! You can also run Dark Spirit's Mastery to search Lava Golem. What's great about this is that you can summon Lava Golem using Dark Spirit of Banishment/Malice (and his effect is negated!)
You can also run Falling Down going second to Snatch Steal stuff, and maybe run the Undead Vampire so the the stolen monster can act as a level 8 material

Wow, I was leaning towards making my deck like this, but I didnt go with the summon skull and patchwork, which i forgot existed, and is way better than my edge imp/charge into dark world combo. You completely fixed my bricking problem! Also does linking away Emperor allow for a Berserk dragon summon?
Charge into a Dark World is probably still useful! I honestly forgot that card existed so thanks for that! I'll have to check it out

And yup, Emperor getting linked off does allow for a Berserk Dragon summon, which makes Masterking extra relevant.
Also keep in mind that it just has to be ANY level 8 or higher monster leaving your field. So if you fusion into Trishula and it dies, that satisfies the criteria. If you summon Chaos Ruler and it dies, that satisfies the criteria
A Deal With Dark Ruler is live more often than you'd think! It just sucks when you hard draw Berserk Dragon...
@@TheArchfiendGuy Thats great that linking off Emperor works. I always thought it didnt so I thought i was bricking. I used Ahrima the Wicked Warden to search Lair, then i would use charge on Imp or Rhino to send Imp and revive Ahrima, I would then summon Imp and tribute it to search a boss and/or summon Diabolos cause I ran 3 trade in. Its really bricky and wasnt worth the payoff

I have no idea how many materials the deck costs! Unfortunately there's a few URs, especially in the extra deck but the majority of the cards are SR so stock up on those

I haven't used the Unchained one on Master Duel yet so I'm not sure. I do like that build though. It's fun and probably has a stronger first turn with Unchained Soul of Rage. I do like the idea of running a more pure build though. Manifestation looks awesome and Berserk Dragon is a great and unexpected play to make!

What about morphing jar and card destruction? Basically making the deck play from the graveyard by discarding your hand to draw, and add in chicken game,
theres also graceful charity amd trade in
Morphing Jar is pretty cool and works well, but it's a flip monster so it's a little slow. Chicken Game is banned in the TCG, same with Graceful Charity
Trade In can be quite good! Just depends on how many level 8s you run. Allure of Darkness can be decent as well

Hey! Do you mean Skull Archfiend of Lightning? He definitely has one of the coolest artworks out of all of them, but the only problem is that his name doesn't count as "Summoned Skull" so I can't use him as fusion material for Manifestation. Otherwise I definitely would play him! Especially because he's got some built in protection.
For his time, he was a decent Archfiend boss monster, but these days he's a bit outclassed. But I'm always up for playtesting and looking at new builds. Empress can still summon him, so he can still be useful

Pandemonium is almost broken but the problem is that it doesn't search anything that useful. Heiress is a great target but Pandemonium is lacking targets that can extend your plays in a meaningful way
As soon as Konami gives us better Archfiend support, I reckon Pandemonium will get crazy quickly.
Having said that, it does have a few uses. It can chain block your Dark Spirit monsters so your opponent can't ghost belle them. You can also generate crazy advantage with it. Recently I've found that you can use High Rate Draw with Pandemonium for a potential +4 on the opponent's turn. It's wild
But yeah, Pandemonium isn't too impactful right now. At least from what I can see. It's my favourite field spell of the two though, so if I can find an excuse to run it then I definitely will
What about archfiend palabrynth instead of fiend griefing? Can summon red dragon archfiend and then get out archfiend empress/archfiend emperor with the palabrynth effect
Palabyrinth is decent but the banish effect isn't great. It's definitely a good Archfiend card though and somewhat underrated. I should probably run it to be honest

What are your thoughts on “Lair of Darkness” in a Summoned Skull deck. I like to run that with “Super Poly”. Thoughts?
Probably pretty decent! Super Poly is very powerful as well. You might be able to get away with main decking it these days, it certainly as a side deck option. The only issue with Super Poly is that it can eat up a lot of Extra Deck space but that's not necessarily a bad thing if it wins you games
Plus the Summoned Skull fusion is a Super Poly target.
Yeah exactly, it's a good card. So long as there are decent dark targets. Last format wasn't great for it due to bird up being mainly wind. Same with Flowendereeze
But maybe it's better now that PK are on the rise

Yeah you're right! You could also run Lilith which will give you access to some synergistic trap cards, like Dark Sacrifice. Or just general control stuff
So i built the deck on Master Duel and it's amaizing you are a genius, there's just one problem and it's Heiress because sometime her effect doesn't go off for example with Cherubini's effect or if i send her by chance with Dante or Oath she just doesn't do anything, Do you know why?
Heiress is very clunky... She can search anything but if you send her via cost then nothing happens. Cherubini and Dante sent via cost so she doesn't activate
Sending her with Oath should work though! Weird if it doesn't o.o

Archfiends is dear to me. They were the 2nd Deck I ever created on my own on LotD without any guides after returning to yugioh since 2004. Dark World was my 1st. I really needed DW to get through that game lol. I still play Archfiends on Link Evolution. As the go to person on Archfiends, would you be willing to check and critique my deck? I dislike that some cards can't be dismantled. I think structure decks and maybe some legacy pack stuff? Not sure but it's annoying having cards I'll never use just sit there when I could be crafting with them
@@TheArchfiendGuy structure deck is fine, but not being able to dismantle legacy stuff is annoying as hell... some cards are borderline useless like a lot of vanilla monsters in there with low atk

Up to you, really! Depends if you want to beef up your going first, have going second blowouts, or a bit of both.
I like running Lava Golems, Sphere Modes and Mystic Mine in the side. I also like Archfiend specific techs that we can summon relatively easily such as The End of Anubis, Chaos Hunter, and Invader of Darkness

Yeah for sure you can run those as well! There's plenty of flexibility when it comes to this deck. Nibiru is a solid option, same with cards like Torrential Tribute!
I'm also making a TCG legal deck I think the added challenge is nice and the practice will be helpful irl once I've gotten my deck. why in God's name is forbidden droplet and lightning storm over $100 for one card fuckkkkkkk
Yeah Forbidden Droplet is far too expensive for me. I just run Kaijus instead if I really have to. Radian synergises quite well with Empress

Unfortunately, some of these cards has since been taken out of rotation as of June 21, 2022. This deck is no longer viable on Master Duel.
