Actually I show 4 photo what I took in Monocrome :D Nothing review unit its my personal strategy :p I did a POV session w the E-P7 what I release in the next week. (I already released in my hungarian native channel where my POV videos are rocking. But I am building this english channel and I thought the review get more attention) Btw it was tricky cuz Lr doesn't read the E-P7 files. So I had to use Olympus Workspace then convert to TIFF then import to Lr and edit the TIFF's there. Its painfull ahahahaaa :D
Hi, Nice review, great camera. I like that you concentrated on the important things - 20mp, 5-axis IBIS, great colour and monochrome modes, lovely design, and didn't waste your time complaining about the lack of an EVF. If people want an EVF, there are plenty of choices. I'll buy an EP-7.
yeah sure. I understand that is hard to understand that Olympus is produce cameras for the design. As a professional sure I need EVF and other features but this camera is not for this. And none of the camera is ALL IN. Each camera has its own benefits and strenghts.
man!! You don't know what u missed out! The PEN-F is the KING! Once you shoot with it you will think different. I never wanna change my Pen-F even I know the OM-D line has more functions, etc. But the PEN-F has some color and soul inside. You don't know what it is but its inside! Even they say its the same sensor. But its not... it has the spicey. PS.: heading to watch your video about the 8-25mm lens :)
I think the previous model to the e-p7 was the e-p5, not the e-pl10. That was another pen line from olympus. I still own an e-p5 and it was the little brother to the e-m1 when it comes to specs. Still a great camera.
Well... It is the official Olympus statement that the E-P7 is the newer model of the E-PL10. They changed the lines over time. And PEN has different series. Like the PEN-F. What is more like a professional camera. So the almost 10year old E-P5 is not a competitive more like the E-PL10. But yeah the style is more similar for that line. However I think the most important thing here is that the PEN line is always the most sylished line at Olympus.
I like this camera, although I wish it had an all black option I love the black and white switch on the front. I can see a lot of graphic design students buying this - affordable enough, great looking, and lots of arty modes.
I am very happy about this camera. It has a tilting screen, perfect! Many photographers nowadays mainly take pictures or videos of themselves. This purpose of course needs a fully articulating screen. But for me the subject is the people and things around me, here a tilting screen is best. That's why I never purchased the Pen-F, but now I'm going to buy.

I already have my hungarian (native) channel w 3.5k sub but my country is small and I don't think there is room to grow so for experiment I launched my EN channel and will see how it grow. Still waiting for 8-25mm review, more appropriate for me (om-1) than this ep7 lol For me the best color on camera is the e-m5 II even I have e-m5 III, e-m1 III and om-1. Combo e-m5 II + 17mm1.8 = amazing colors

How is the integrated microphone, I need it for videos, probably only in the inside. But it is to bad that it doesn't have an slot for an external microphone. The camera would be perfekt for me in this case. What are you thinking of the sound you can record with it?
well it depends on what you need and how professionally. For me I need an external mic. But when I started my other YT channel 3 years ago I had my Pen-F w its built in mic and it worked. Soo... That is st nobody can answer you just yourself.

tbh the Pen-F has such a vintage look vibe. A bit desaturated filmic look. No doubt it is my fav if we talking about which Olympus camera has the best color.

hey. Sorry I don't know. I heard Olympus is take out a few languages on their newer cameras. However the english is very simple. And once you set up there is a quick menu and you don't need to use the main menu. I mean... I shoot in a daily and only use it in Manual and change my ISO, F stop and speed. That is it. I think I only scroll when I need a HDR for a interior shots but HDR is HDR in every language soo... I don't think u need to worry about.

Hi, Olympus E-p7 has the Hi-res function and the ability to save the presets created by recalling them with the pre-configured keys? Does the display work in such a way that you don't regret the viewfinder?
I don't know about the preset thing and I had to give it back so I can not check for you. Regarding your display question. It is a thing you need to ask yourself and decide. For me as a professional a viewfinder is a must. But who starts photography and came from a smartphone field I don't think they really miss the viewfinder. So you can use it without. I also shoot w the display while I shoot my POV street series. So yes it works. But for more detailed, focused and professional job I need the viewfinder.
I loved the video presentation. This camera makes me that if the Olympus Pen F and the EPL 9 or EPL 10 got together and had a baby together, we would call it EP-7

E-P7 $899 for something that is worse than a $599 E-M10 IV? This is total failure for Olympus. I have an E-PL7 and it can fit a VF-4 and it cost me $200 with lens used 5 years ago. You should have at least added a fully articulated screen on this camera to appeal to vloggers and also added PDAF. As much as I love Olympus, no one's buying this E-P7 aside from hardcore fans in Japan. Just get an EM-10 IV it's cheaper, and has an EVF. This camera E-P7 doesn't bring anything new to the table for that price lol.
Hi mate, I just purchased an second hand one and I'm facing the problem that the Kit Lens 14-42 EZ took about 4-5 seconds to reform back as normal whenever I turn the EP7 to OFF function. Could you check it again and let me know does it a normal issue or my camera is certain malfunctional ? Please help because there are noone around me using EP7.
update: they said it can be also the camera or the lens. So you should try the lens in a different camera to check if the lens has a problem or the camera. But the store recorded me a video how should work and its literally 0.5sec to open and close the zoom lens.
well. Officialy not. But from my personal experience Olympus cameras are super weather sealed! My Pen-F went out everything from dust to snowstorm everything and never had an issue while other cameras got a drop of water and they dies. So... I am never affraid to take out my Olympus in any weather situation.
haha yeah its me everywhere :) I know its a bit confusing. Just try to separate my english and hungarian channels. And the POV PHOTO GUY is my english brand. Hope everybody find me more easily in this way and also the name is well searchable.
This camera is quite a step down from the E-P5 in some critical areas: The E-P7 does not have the accessory port, hence it cannot take the excellent VF-4 electronic viewfinder - that by itself is a deal breaker in my opinion for anyone with the previous E-P5 and the viewfinder. The other quite apparent change is the inferior build quality of the newer E-P7 versus the older E-P5. The E-P5 is a solid metal build. The E-P5 comes in at 420g with its battery and memory card, the E-P7 only weighs 337g. That reduction of weight can only be achieved by sacrificing build quality. Olympus did the same when they updated the OMD E-M5 II to the OMD E-M5 III. A sad state of affairs. The E-P5 also has better in body image stabilization. According to Olympus, the E-P5 can provide 5 full stops of compensation steps, Olympus only attests the E-P7 for 4.5 stops. I actually think the much lower weight of the E-P7 is to blame for that. Another annoying change from the E-P5 to the E-P7 is the weaker built-in flash in the E-P7. The guide number on the E-P5 is 7, the E-P7 flash only has a guide number of 5.4 (both at ISO 100). If you have an E-P5, hold on to it.

2 questions: can the dials be programmed to be exp compenation? Did you try astro? The previous 16Mpx was not so good.

sorry I don't know. :( But with Final Cut or Davinci you can easily sync your audio if u use external recorder.
i dont like how it looks almost the same as fujifilm x a2 or x100 same sheet difrent brand previous pen cameras were difrent unique

No viewfinder or attachment viewfinder option. What a shame this could have been a possibility.
If you want a viewfinder, I think they want you to buy the E-M5 mark iii instead
agree. Each camera has their own market. This is fun and entry level not for professionals even the image quality is the same as in the higher models.

Could you check it again and let me know does it a normal issue or my camera is certain malfunctional ? Please help because there are noone around me using EP7.
I do not have it, but I asked and it should go back in 1-2sec, not as slow as u mentioned.
But I would not worry about if its still functioning.
update: they said it can be also the camera or the lens. So you should try the lens in a different camera to check if the lens has a problem or the camera. But the store recorded me a video how should work and its literally 0.5sec to open and close the zoom lens.

well. Officialy not. But from my personal experience Olympus cameras are super weather sealed! My Pen-F went out everything from dust to snowstorm everything and never had an issue while other cameras got a drop of water and they dies. So... I am never affraid to take out my Olympus in any weather situation.

haha yeah its me everywhere :) I know its a bit confusing. Just try to separate my english and hungarian channels. And the POV PHOTO GUY is my english brand. Hope everybody find me more easily in this way and also the name is well searchable.
ANY real reason WHY this model hasn't hit the North American Market?

This camera is quite a step down from the E-P5 in some critical areas:
The E-P7 does not have the accessory port, hence it cannot take the excellent VF-4 electronic viewfinder - that by itself is a deal breaker in my opinion for anyone with the previous E-P5 and the viewfinder.
The other quite apparent change is the inferior build quality of the newer E-P7 versus the older E-P5. The E-P5 is a solid metal build. The E-P5 comes in at 420g with its battery and memory card, the E-P7 only weighs 337g. That reduction of weight can only be achieved by sacrificing build quality. Olympus did the same when they updated the OMD E-M5 II to the OMD E-M5 III. A sad state of affairs.
The E-P5 also has better in body image stabilization. According to Olympus, the E-P5 can provide 5 full stops of compensation steps, Olympus only attests the E-P7 for 4.5 stops. I actually think the much lower weight of the E-P7 is to blame for that.
Another annoying change from the E-P5 to the E-P7 is the weaker built-in flash in the E-P7. The guide number on the E-P5 is 7, the E-P7 flash only has a guide number of 5.4 (both at ISO 100).
If you have an E-P5, hold on to it.
No VF-4 !!!!

16MP > 20MP is not a huge difference. IQ is virtually the same.
