They used African rosewood for the handle which is a hardwood with alot of natural oils. Which means it will be tough and not smash/dent very easily. Also when that clear coat breaks down from use or purposely removed, the natural oils will keep it from drying out and cracking quickly like other dry woods. Of course regular wood maintenance still applies ie: anual application of linseed oil etc.
That is one of the most beautiful fixed blades I've ever seen. What a handle!

@GreenfaceONE yeah almost got that one but I'm a sucker for a nice wooden handle. It is a very gd lookin blade I think u will like it.
