"Take this job and shove it" is another fun Johnny Paycheck song. You definitely have to do "A Boy Named Sue" by Johnny Cash. I am surprised you haven't had a lot of votes or a bribe for that one yet.
@@greeneyelove2003 classic might be a stretch because I have a very high bar for that(the dance, he stopped loving her today, etc etc) but it's definitely amongst the best humor songs
So glad y’all did this one!! Paycheck is an amazing “storyteller”/classic OG. He’s really known for his songs “Shove It” & “Old Violin”, but “The Outlaw’s Prayer” is one I really think y’all would enjoy as well. Great review, loved watching y’all’s facial expressions as the story unfolded lol!! Definitely have to listen to “A Boy Named Sue” for sure, Dustin!
Paycheck was a real country outlaw and a great story teller through song. Many great songs were recorded by him including my personal favorite 'Someone to Give My Love To'. His recording of the David Allen Coe song 'Take This Job And Shove It' was one of the biggest hits of the 1970's. It was later, in the early 90's, that he spent time in prison for shooting a man in the head in a bar(although not fatally). Sadly, Paycheck died penniless and there was no money to even pay for his funeral. It was George Jones that paid his funeral expenses and provided his burial plot. He's buried in good company though, within eyesight of his undoubtedly true to the end friend George Jones' own grave in the Jones Family plot.
Glenn furgeson his ol manager. Paid for the funeral george jones supplied the plot and head stone george jones had alot if plots for country stars that didnt have money i think tommy over street might be one of them george was fond of him he killed himself and it hurt george alot
Too funny. Never heard this one before. I think he sings that old song 'Take this job & shove it' too. LOL For a 'naughty' hilarious song, by Toby Keith, very few people know & probably does not have a video other than him singing it live. The song is 'Get out of my car' & beyond funny... and dirty.
Johnny Is Outlaw Country Music! My parents were alcoholics and lived in the bear joints in this part of Houston (Telephone Rd area), dragging us kids with them. As a young child, I witnessed these fights.
Paycheck is one of the original outlaws. He has some fun and raucous music , but also some pensive somber tunes as well. "Old Violin" and "Outlaw's prayer" are great examples. My personal favorite is "11 months and 29 days".
Used to go to the "Yamaha Beach" 200 back in the day when manufacturers produced one-off bikes made of Unobtanium just to win Daytona. It was that prestigious. I was there the year King Kenny finally won it. A "never forget" memory is that first time the field came out of turn 4 at full song past the grandstands. Every hair on your body stood up. Speeds got so high that they finally put a chicane in the back stretch fashioned from hay bales. Wide World Of Sports included a clip of a rider who high sided into the bales in its "Thrill Of Victory and Agony of Defeat" intro. The 2022 full race is on UA-cam. Some good racing again. 1 & 2 were 0.007 sec apart. Top 4 finished within 0.69. (Been to the Rolex once. Got video, never uploaded. Cool event. Night time on the infield was kinda surreal. Sights and sounds, windows for viewing work in the garages, live music, race cars on the infield track, vintage race cars on display - Porches campaigned by 5 time winner Hurley Haywood, etc. Early in the race I noticed that all 3 identical Ford GTs entered Turn 1 with an identical throttle blip and down shift. So much so, I looked into it. Yep. Computer aided. smh. )
Ima native Texan my buddies a city boy from Houston i grew up country. He said being a teenager in houston in the 70s was the glory days. Got away with alot and people were different more rough and tough from his view.
another "Coors" Song is Jerry Reed's EastBound and down from Smokie and The Bandit. Cause back in the day Coors was limited distribution due to the refrigeration requirements.
Down in south Texas drinking some Colorado Koolaid and talkin to some Mexicans. Classic lines.Tru Only Hell My Mama Ever Raised, and I got smart too slow, and old way too fast.
I'm almost certain you have her to Johnny paycheck song you just didn't know it my guess is you have heard takes this job and shove it at some point in time in your life. Yeah South Texas is not a real good place to decide you're going to be a big man cuz you're somebody who's going to be little and fast and mean as hell. This was a great reaction guys I was laughing so hard at you two fools that I couldn't even breathe. I really enjoyed it.
he did another crazy song"take this job and shove it" don't know if you reacted to it already or not..We lost a OG legend today if you can please react to Mickey Gilley...I think one of my favorite songs of his is " You don't know me" he did have a funny one called " The girls all look prettier at closing time" ...you may have heard of Mickey he owned the famous "Gilley's" bar in Texas it's were they filmed Urban Cowboy at...Jerry Lee Lewis was his cousin and he grew up with several other well known music people
When this song came out late 70s I don't think there was light beer so it's actual Coors Banquet the beer Snowman snd Bandit transported Eastbound from Texarkana Texas to Atlanta Georgia
Keith story about his buddies motorcycle puts me in the mind of a story a buddy of mine told me about when he was go-kart racing he's a good friend and we both go-kart raced but we didn't know each other at the time when we were racing he drove dirt cars I ran road course asphalt but he was telling me about the time where he was running qualifying for his go-kart Race and seen a oil drain plug in the middle of track and said somebody's going to have a bad day when when he went to start his engine for the heat race his motor was locked up because the drain plug was his and as far the talking style of the song you liked there is singer by the name Red Sovine that you should check out my favorites are (teddy bear) and (little Joe) which are kind of sequel songs to each other
Other songs by Johnny paycheck you have probably heard Take This Job and Shove It Not sure of these Satin Sheets I'm the Only Hell My Mama ever Raised Mr. Lovemaker
It probably did happen, Paycheck had some crazy times in bars, in Hillsboro Ohio, he shot a man in a bar, over what was better, deer meat, or squirrel meat,
How ironic the song is to Johnny Paycheck life oh, he went to prison for shooting a man in the head in a bar! The guy live but he's got a 22 caliber mark on his head do you remember Johnny Paycheck
If you walk into a bar that looks innocent on the outside but you step in and there's chicken wire around the stage, you know people have gotten drunk on Colorado Koolaid and started so shiiit.
Keith... did you ever tell Dustin the story of you showing up at my house with like 5 rifles and 6 pistols strapped to you looking like Rambo, cuz we were going to the range?
"Take this job and shove it" is another fun Johnny Paycheck song. You definitely have to do "A Boy Named Sue" by Johnny Cash. I am surprised you haven't had a lot of votes or a bribe for that one yet.
Vote on all counts!😁😁
Agreed. I vote for both of these.
Add another vote from me.
Except “Take This Job and Shove it” is David Allen Coe’s song, like many that are his and credits given to somebody else.
This was the flip side of take this job and shove it it went no 50 on the top 40 so in a eay it was no 1
Such a cool story song. I loved this. "Ah hell, he can't hear..."
You have to hear "A Boy Named Sue" and another by Johnny "One Piece At A Time."
Both great, especially one piece at a time
@@LegenDairyRace It's a classic. Cash was a master at story-telling songs like that.

FYI, this could happen in parts of WV where there wasn't a bar ... I can imagine a few people in WV that wouldn't need a bar to do this.
We haves talked about songs that make you feel something, you need to hear Old Violin by Johnny Paycheck.
When this song came out late 70s I don't think there was light beer so it's actual Coors Banquet the beer Snowman snd Bandit transported Eastbound from Texarkana Texas to Atlanta Georgia
In this song I believe he was talking about Coors banquet
Take this job n Shove it is a must listen 🎶
