An underrated comedy! At the end of the day, Oscar made us laugh for a few hours and sometimes that's all you need/want! What are some other movies you think deserve a chance?! Thank you all for the support!
Movies that I don't see many reactions for are "blast from the past" - Brendan Fraser, "bedazzled" - Brendan Fraser and Elizabeth hurley and "Beverly hills ninja" hilarious movie starring Chris Farley, I'll suggest these on Patreon as well, I know y'all have a long list of movies to get through first but these would be a real treat for y'all to react to 😁🙏😁🙏
You should do a public movie list of movies you haven’t seen, ones you both have seen and ones that only one of you have seen so it’s easier to know what movies to recommend and what ones to not recommend.
Noises Off. It's a movie about a stage play that goes wrong. It's very much like Oscar and stars Carol Burnett, John Ritter, Christopher Reeves, and Michael Caine. Very funny and absolutely crazy!
I remember Stallone was on a talk show promoting "Oscar," and he explained that, while he was in Europe, he discovered farce, which is a style of comedy you don't see that often in American cinema. He loved it and wanted to try that style of movie He knew it was a risk because it was different from the standard American comedy tastes and because audiences might not accept him in a non-action hero role, but he was willing to take that chance and was very excited to try something different. A lot of people have pointed out that Stallone's intelligence is often under appreciated, and his creativity is also under appreciated.
I agree, Stallone is often dismissed as being a "palooka," a stiff when it comes to acting. What I liked about him was he was willing to put himself out there and trust his audience. I thinking of "Copland" and this movie in particular.
Farce was a staple of comedies in the 30's and early 40's. They just sort of fell out of fashion with American audiences. We still get them from time to time. Clue, is a good example
This style of comedy has roots in ancient Greek theater, but developed a lot more in ancient Rome. Skipping almost 2000 years, in cinema again in Italy we find "Commedia all'italiana", which is probably what Stallone was exposed to, which was extremely popular in the 60's. The key point is that the plot keeps moving forward by means of misunderstandings, which often combine one upon another, which leads to extremely absurd situations. In its pure form, it has little or no slapstick comedy, but the two genres can merge very well of course. It's not super common in Hollywood, where often emphasis is more on the slapstick side. You can find jokes based on taking something literally ("This woman has to be gotten to a hospital" - " Hospital? What is it?" - "It's big building with patients"), but in "Commedia all'italiana" misunderstandings drive the plot and sometimes last for the whole movie, until everything is resolved in the grand final. A good example of a mix is the Pink Panther franchise, whose first movie was definitely inspired by the Commedia all'Italiana, and later movies, with Sellers in the lead, leaned more on the slapstick side.
Loved the fact that Chazz Palminteri was given huge advice by Stallone to do like what he did and REFUSE to sell the rights to his 1 man play called "A Bronx Tale", and hold onto it until they agree to let him star in it and have DeNiro direct it who also agreed with that advice. Then a star was born!!!
Can't believe this. Haven't even started watching it, but this is one of my favorite movies that gets absolutely no love. Thank you guys for watching it. I'll even forgive you if you don't like it. It just needs to be seen by more people.
Finally, I get to see "Oscar" get some love. When this was released in 1991 it did not get love from the critics or moviegoers...partially because people couldn't accept Stallone in a pure comedy - farce or screwball comedy, a la the style of the 30s and 40s. Even the ending, as you guys rightly pointed out, gets a chuckle because the titled drop comes at the very end of the movie. Comic genius. He is disposed of "expeditiously." I love this movie and can quote it almost word for word. Everyone is hilarious, but my favorites are Connie and Aldo. I especially loved the dialogue and I think that's where a lot of people were turned off. The script was true to the time/era of the day where "speak-easys" and "bathtub gin" was the order of the day. Sort of the comedy version of "The Sting." One of my favorite lines is when Connie and "Snaps" are going over the events of the day, and Connie asks to stay in the room because every time he leaves "I fall behind." In fact, I love your reaction so much that I'm going to watch the full length patreon reaction. You guys are awesome! Two comedies that I would love to see your reaction: "Victor/Victoria" (1982) and "Some Like It Hot!" (1959) with a special mention of "Someone Like You" (2001) with Hugh Jackman and Ashley Judd. the first two are considered American Screwball comedy and "Someone Like You" is considered your run-of-the-mill rom/com (but it's actually quite good).
It's a copy paste from Louis de Funes movie (Oscar 1967), but yea, still very good comedy. But original is better, and that's why critics didn't liked it.
You guys reacted to Oscar?! Epic! I dont think this movie gets enough appreciation. I still have my original DVD. I've loved this movie since it was released in theaters.
The rapid-fire pace is what makes the entire film. It's an English-language remake of a French film from the 1960s, based on a stage play from 1958 or 59. Stallone's comic timing is SO underrated.
Reacting to "Oscar" is a great surprise! Thanks Sam and TBR for picking this one. It's a lot of fun, the movie and the reaction. Fun fact: Marisa Tomei was 26 when this came out. The same age Tom Holland (Spider-Man) is now.
I've always loved this movie. So many funny moments with a terrific cast. The comedic timing, the editing, the classical music score, all of it works to create basically 1930's comedy. And yes, John Landis directed Clue, Animal House, The Blues Brothers, the great Trading Places, An American Werewolf In London, and this.
I got to watch this on my commute to work and I gotta say, you two did a stellar job. Like I said before, this one was gonna be emotional for me but if my Mom were still with us and got to see this, she would’ve absolutely LOVED your reactions. This was one of her favorite movies and I can still see her smiling when Stallone screams “Fannuchi’s” and “The one that’s not Lisa” She’d say that all the time. You both did a great job and this honestly made my day. Thank you so much!
Oscar is the definition of a hidden gem. Such a great movie. You definitely get that Clue vibe........... WTH? I literally wrote that 5 seconds before y'all stated it in the video. lol
I was 11 in '91 and I had this on vhs when it came out and used to watch it over and over and over. It still cracks me up. Haven't seen it in 25 years or more. Great reaction guys as always.
"This movie is chaotic!" Oscar is a fantastic comedy of errors with an incredible cast moving at a breakneck pace and some hilarious wordplay. I love how much you two enjoyed the Fannuccis and Dr Pool! I especially enjoy Chazz Palminteri - the weapons unloading, the chicken leg, the oxymoron jokes, his constant confusion until he finally gets the plot figured out and then stays caught up 🤣🤣🤣 He's too funny.
Oh yeah, Mr. Vendetti's manicurist at the beginning is Arleen Sorkin. If her voice sounds vaguely familiar, it's because she's most famous for doing the voice of Harley Quinn in Batman: The Animated Series and most of the DCAU. And Anthony's pay of $400/mo in 1931 dollars would be $7,800/mo today, or $93k/yr. $1400/mo would be $27k/mo or $327k/yr. $50,000 in 1931 dollars would be close to a million ($974k) today.
It has been one of my favorite movies since I first saw it. One of the main reason that it has so mixed reviews is because it is so different from his normal movies of the time. Another example of a star stepping out of his normal roles like this is Clint Eastwood in the movie Kelly's Heroes.
The "E" that you hate in the credits is an old font used during the art deco era in the very late 20's and well into the 30's. Can ALWAYS tell when something is from the 30's by that font and architecture. One huge reason I always enjoyed the Empire State Building. Huge art deco involved with that skyscraper.
Gotta say, the 20s and 30s Had to have been quite a time to be alive. Aside from any social and economic issues, the mixture of science and art is incredible. Architecture, automobiles, clothing and jewelry, music and dance, the speakeasies, the movies in those glorious movie palaces, the art, the sexual revolution and freedom of women, the high interest in The Future, and even the crazy exploration of creativity and spirituality. They weren't The Roaring 20s for nothing. Everything from this period really is beautiful. It reminds me of the American version of the Japanese "dream world," ukiyoe; even though Art Deco is based on Egyptian art -- which was a huge influence due to the discovery of King Tut's tomb. I don't think Our Country has had that level of greatness except right after WWII, and even then, it's hard to compete with those aesthetics. I mean Googie design and architecture that took over Los Angeles for a second is awesome, but Art Deco is perfection
The rapid fire dialogue and mistaken identities are tropes of the screwball comedy, a genre popular in the thirties and forties. It was a big risk to try this in 1991 and the movie did bomb, but I loved it.
Some later ones: Monkey Business (1952) Some Like It Hot (1959) It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (1963) What's Up, Doc? (1972) Who's That Girl? (1987, loosely based on Bringing Up Baby 1938) Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown (1988) The Hudsucker Proxy (1994) Rat Race (2001, based on It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World) Intolerable Cruelty (2003)
Nice try on the snaps at the end. haha Maybe I should put my name in quotes. 🤔 Another Tim Curry role, you mentioned saving IT for Halloween time. Another one I remember watching a lot in the 80s/90s was a fantasy movie called "Legend" (1985), directed by Ridley Scott (Alien/Blade Runner/Gladiator), and starring Tom Cruise, Mia Sara (Ferris Bueller's girlfriend) and Tim Curry in some amazing makeup. The makeup and scene designs are what make this movie. Nobody will say it's Scott's best, but it's worth watching for visuals alone.
This was fantastic. I’m so glad that not only did y’all watch this movie but also enjoyed it. It’s been one of my favorite movies that is extremely underrated. Keep up that grind and can’t wait to keep on enjoying your content 👏🏽
Legend is my personal fave Tim Curry flick. He plays a character called Darkness! Really intense role! Ridley Scott Directed in '85, Starring Tom Cruise who's next role was in Top Gun.
Been waiting 4-EVER for a reaction to this awesome film, and now it comes from my favorite reacting duo. Thank you! Love you guys. For another farce like Oscar and Clue, please check out "Noises Off" someday. An even more famous cast and just as many laughs.
IMO, a "criminally" underrated flick. Stallone isn't the greatest comedic actor, but the writing and supporting cast more than make up for it. Everything is purposely over the top, and that's what makes it work. Awesome reaction, glad to finally see someone reacting to this one.
I love this film and the 1930s setting! When Tomei says she's a 30s woman, she meant she was a modern woman of the 1930s, like you would say now it's the 21st century or a 20s girl.
@@TBRSchmitt I’m enjoying so far! You should check out “Johnny Dangerously” another great underrated tongue and cheek hamster flick with Michael Keaton at the helm 🙋🏻♀️💕🤓
@Elizabitty213 - also, just a note, it is an usual Hollywood remake of the much older, French movie from 1967. Not that there is anything wrong with that approach. Personally I've seen it long time ago too (the one with Stallone), and did enjoy it too :)
So glad you liked this film and laughed so much while watching. Probably the most underrated Stallone movie. Have seen it countless times and it is one of the few remakes that actually is better than the original one.
Hahaha well so far we have enjoy everything on the channel! Absolutely have favorites and enjoyed some movies more than others but overall the recommendations we get seem super tailored to stuff we like! Might have some ideas for stuff she will hate but not sure if I want to subject her to that haha!
I loved this movie when I was a kid. Definitely underrated. Stallone himself doesn't have the greatest comedic timing (but neither is he awful at it), but he surrounded himself with a very solid cast and matched the crazy energy of the story very well.
The tailors were played by Jonathan Pryce and Harry Shearer. Mr. Pryce has been in many things, from "Brazil" to "Pirates of The Caribbean: CoTBP," and Mr. Shearer has voiced an astounding number of characters on "The Simpsons."
@@the_ag_101 I stand corrected! Thank you, sir! Now, let's count how many more people post the same correction here, without reading the replies first! ;D
Always had a soft spot for this movie ever since I first saw it as a kid. It's great you guys really liked it too! It's a solid comedy with a great cast.
This is one of my favorite and underrated movies. Definitely shows that critics don't know what they're talking about half the time 🙂 So much talent in this movie. Just good ol' fashioned fun. You should check out "Dead Men don't wear Plaid". It's differently paced but I think you'll love the humor in it. To me another underrated classic.
What a pleasant surprise to see this pop up! I had actually forgotten about this film! I actually loved it as a kid, and it was my first introduction to Stallone (who is now one of my favorites!) I’m so glad you both enjoyed it, and thanks for bringing back all those awesome memories of watching it 🙂
Love this movie! Never seen anyone else talk about it. One of the Finnuci's is Harry Shearer, from Spinal Tap and voice of the Simpsons. You mentioned you want more Tim Curry, try the movie Legend. It is a fantasy movie with him and young Tom Cruise. It's a lot like Neverending Story.
I went to see this movie alone because all my friends (and family) said "Not another shitty Stallone movie". I was so happy that I saw it and went home laughing. Nobody believed me when I said how much I enjoyed it, but since that time, my wife watched it again with me and apologized that she never came with me to see it. Many of my mates have seen it since and have also been 'converted'.
I LOVE this movie and I’m so excited to see you watch it! Edit: I had such a huge smile on my face watching you watch this. I’m so happy that you enjoyed it!
One of my favorite comedies of all time. I don't even think there's a debate that it's the most underrated comedy. I've been quoting this movie for like 30 years. Glad you both liked it so much.
A few great movies NOBODY reacts to: *Frailty:* Matthew McConaughey and Bill Paxton thriller. One of the best plot twists ever. *The Bone Collector:* Denzel Washington and Angelina Jolie crime thriller. *Frequency:* Dennis Quaid and Jim Caviezel sci-fi/mystery/thriller. I've yet to find someone who didn't love it.
I could not stop laughing when the Fanucci brothers were speaking with Anthony, and he thinks they are hitmen. OMGosh, so funny! Oscar is hilarious. Definitely underrated. Another fun-filled reaction TBR and Sam! ( :E
I love this movie. I find it so funny. "Snaps" last name Provolone, I didn't know that was a type of cheese until I was an adult and started working in an Italian restaurant.
The movie is remake from old french movie Oscar from 1967 with Louis de Funès(THE comedy geneius). As much i love Louis de Funès this version of Oscar with Stallone is just pure comedy.... and really underrated comedy
Seeing Kirk Douglas here made me remember Greedy - memory serves it was a hilarious movie. My folks and I would watch Greedy and Doc Hollywood as 2 MJ Fox comedies.
One of the best Stallone movies/comedies, so glad you picked it up! Another one I like (even though it tas low ratings) is Stop! or my mom will shoot! Very funny with a great mum. Oscar is in fact an american version of a stage play, there is a very famous original french movie "Oscar" from 1967, starring Louis de Funes, whom you probably not familiar with, but he was one of the greatest french comedians and the french version is also absolutely hilarious. Don't know if the french movies are dubbed in english, but Funes' movies are absolutely classic in Europe and very funny, especially the Gendarme (1964) and my personal all time favourite "Delusions of Grandeur" (1971). Even you might not react to those, maybe check them out, really, really funny with the 60/70s flair.
I TOTALLY forgot about this movie. Clue is my fav movie of all time. This came out in that same area and I used to watch it all the time. Such Chaos - totally enjoyable. Back then everyone was so used to Stallone being an action movie star, this role was refreshing for me. He carried the movie and was legitimately funny. Thank you for posting this. I gotta buy it on Amazon. Subbed!
This is a remake of the french movie Oscar (1967) with Louis de Funès. As a fan of De Funès I was reluctant to see a version with Stallone at first, and I was very surprised how Stallone managed to make something so different, yet so faithfull to the original film, and at the same time being so funny. THIS, is how you do a remake, love this movie. You should try the original movie tho, De Funès is a blast of comedy genius.
This is one of my favourites from childhood, I'm so glad you watched it. Another hilarious "gangster" comedy is Johnny Dangerously with Micheal Keaton.
This is one of my favorite movies of all time, and a favorite of my family. I can quote the entire thing, and I bought my own physical and digital copies so I can share it with people, but whenever I talk about it, nobody has ever heard of it. I love that more people are getting introduced to this gem!
This is one of my fave movies ever, right up there with Princess Bride, it always makes me laugh 😆even though I've seen it a dozen times... it was super fun to enjoy it again with you, glad you loved it!
Definitely an underrated comedy, and one of Sly's most underrated performances. He has brilliant comedic timing. As for the story, it all feels like it could easily have been a stageplay, like a classic, old-school farce. I believe this was also inspired by a French movie from 1967, which also accounts for the "old-fashioned" comedy feel (I'm talking style of humor, not the fact that this is a period piece, but that fits too). A while back, when you uploaded your "My Cousin Vinny" reaction, I said that it's for some reason one of my go-to movies every now and then. It's the same with "Oscar." I love action and horror and sci-fi etc., but I guess I have an inner old dude that enjoys those more wholesome comedy moments too haha
Great reaction! Legend is a Tim Curry, Tom Cruise movie you could watch. And What's Up Doc? is a screwball comedy that also has a bag mix-up theme & it's hilarious. Made by Peter Bogdonavich in the early 70s. Can't help thinking of it whenever I watch Oscar.
@@richardb6260 One of my favorite movies! It's nice to see that someone else knows it! But I didn't mention it bc they don't react to old b&w movies. Wish they did.
@@richardb6260 haha love it! Always wondered how she got that leash on him. "Susan's out looking for the wrong leopard! Oh poor brave Susan, she's helpless without me." Lol
Tim Curry has an incredible performance as Darkness in Legend (1985). I think Legend is one of Tom Cruise's first movie rolls. Also Mia Sara (Ferris Bueller's girlfriend) is in it.
Believe it or not, the Coen bros. have done a fast paced 30s-40s comedy like this style called "The Hudsucker Proxy" starring Tim Robbins, Paul Newman, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Bruce Campbell.
This movie reminds me so much of those classic 30s screwball comedies. LOVED it! PS John Landis WROTE Clue. He directed Trading Places, Animal House, The Blues Brothers, American Werewolf in London and the Thriller video
I haven't watched Oscar in forever. But I always liked it when I was younger. Stallone doing a pretty good job in a comedy. Tim Curry and Marisa Tomei. I was definitely the only person I knew who had seen it. Kind of in the same realm as Johnny Dangerously for me. Althought that had a little more of a Mel Brooks vibe.
Love this reaction! This movie is so off the wall and so under-appreciated! Landis actually didn’t direct Clue but he collaborated on the script with Lynn, great observation! Looking forward to watching more 😊

Another example of a star stepping out of his normal roles like this is Clint Eastwood in the movie Kelly's Heroes.
it has mixed reviews because it's just a remake
The "E" that you hate in the credits is an old font used during the art deco era in the very late 20's and well into the 30's. Can ALWAYS tell when something is from the 30's by that font and architecture. One huge reason I always enjoyed the Empire State Building. Huge art deco involved with that skyscraper.
I'm a total Art Deco fan, too. The Empire State Building is my favorite building of all time in the world.
Oooh you watched it!!!! I loved this as a kid! My favorite moment is when Mr. Pool pretends the underwear is actual money to appease Snaps. 🤣 🤣 🤣
The rapid fire dialogue and mistaken identities are tropes of the screwball comedy, a genre popular in the thirties and forties. It was a big risk to try this in 1991 and the movie did bomb, but I loved it.
Some later ones:
Monkey Business (1952)
Some Like It Hot (1959)
It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World (1963)
What's Up, Doc? (1972)
Who's That Girl? (1987, loosely based on Bringing Up Baby 1938)
Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown (1988)
The Hudsucker Proxy (1994)
Rat Race (2001, based on It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World)
Intolerable Cruelty (2003)
YES!!! So happy SOMEONE is reacting to this movie!! Being half Italian, I grew up with this.
Nice try on the snaps at the end. haha
Maybe I should put my name in quotes. 🤔
Another Tim Curry role, you mentioned saving IT for Halloween time.
One of my favorite comedies of the 90s. Super underrated. Some people are just too serious
Legend is my personal fave Tim Curry flick. He plays a character called Darkness! Really intense role! Ridley Scott Directed in '85, Starring Tom Cruise who's next role was in Top Gun.
And Mia Sara from Ferris Bueller is in that movie too.
Been waiting 4-EVER for a reaction to this awesome film, and now it comes from my favorite reacting duo. Thank you! Love you guys.
For another farce like Oscar and Clue, please check out "Noises Off" someday. An even more famous cast and just as many laughs.
Marisa Tomei was 26 when she filmed this and next year she would go on to actually win the "Oscar" for My Cousin Vinny
IMO, a "criminally" underrated flick. Stallone isn't the greatest comedic actor, but the writing and supporting cast more than make up for it. Everything is purposely over the top, and that's what makes it work. Awesome reaction, glad to finally see someone reacting to this one.
It's not underrated, if anything it's overrated considering the original is way better and noone is talking about it
@@kreddykall6000 Didn’t know there was an original, but I guess my opinion about this movie is wrong since you said so.
@@stevesheroan4131 Just watch the original and you'll forget this Stallone version even exists
This was definitely a family favorite back in the '90s. Love that you guys are reacting to this!
I love this film and the 1930s setting! When Tomei says she's a 30s woman, she meant she was a modern woman of the 1930s, like you would say now it's the 21st century or a 20s girl.
This is one of my favorite movies of all time. I'm so glad to see somebody actually watching it and giving it some recognition!
it's an american version of a very good french movie
I absolutely love this film. You’re the first I’ve seen to review it. I’m am beyond stoked.
I fucking LOVE this movie so much. I'm glad you're reacting to it. It's highly underrated farce humor
Omg this movie is so great 😃 and so many people don’t know about it!
Cannot wait to see your reaction to this
Hope you enjoy! Sam and I would have never even known about this movie if it wasn't for this channel and all the great comments we get!
@@TBRSchmitt I’m enjoying so far! You should check out “Johnny Dangerously” another great underrated tongue and cheek hamster flick with Michael Keaton at the helm 🙋🏻♀️💕🤓
Yes!! Johnny Dangerously!!
@@racheltrivett980 🙌🏻🤓
@Elizabitty213 - also, just a note, it is an usual Hollywood remake of the much older, French movie from 1967.
Not that there is anything wrong with that approach.
Personally I've seen it long time ago too (the one with Stallone), and did enjoy it too :)
So glad you liked this film and laughed so much while watching. Probably the most underrated Stallone movie. Have seen it countless times and it is one of the few remakes that actually is better than the original one.
YES!! I love this movie and no one but my family has even heard of it before. Severely underrated! Thank you for the reactions!
Just once I want Samantha to say:
*"I absolutely f+++ing hated it!!!!!"*
For whatever reason I think that'd be hilarious 🤣🤣🤣
Hahaha well so far we have enjoy everything on the channel! Absolutely have favorites and enjoyed some movies more than others but overall the recommendations we get seem super tailored to stuff we like! Might have some ideas for stuff she will hate but not sure if I want to subject her to that haha!
@@TBRSchmitt Smart man 👍👍
I think that the closest that she's gotten to that is with The Evil Dead. The look on her face during the recap was priceless.
I’m so glad you guys included this one in your Stallone marathon. I adore this movie. Loved watching you guys laugh all the way through.
Wasn’t Shearer the guy trying to get Ross’ monkey on Friends to knife fight ?
That's not Jonathan Pryce, it's Martin Ferrero. He, among other things, played the lawyer in "Jurassic Park".
@@the_ag_101 I stand corrected! Thank you, sir! Now, let's count how many more people post the same correction here, without reading the replies first! ;D
@@the_ag_101 He also played CI and con man Izzy on "Miami Vice".
@@Madbandit77 I love Izzy!
Always had a soft spot for this movie ever since I first saw it as a kid. It's great you guys really liked it too! It's a solid comedy with a great cast.
This is one of my favorite and underrated movies. Definitely shows that critics don't know what they're talking about half the time 🙂
So much talent in this movie.
Agreed... SUPER underrated. This is an AMAZING farce! Would love to see a staged version of it. And Stallone and company kill it with the comedy!
I was starting to wonder if you guys would find this hidden treasure. Honestly my favorite Sylvester Stallone movie. Such an underrated movie
why are people calling this underrated when it's not even close to the original
One of the movies that definitely has gotten better with age, thanks
I LOVE this movie and I’m so excited to see you watch it!
Edit: I had such a huge smile on my face watching you watch this. I’m so happy that you enjoyed it!
One of my favorite comedies of all time. I don't even think there's a debate that it's the most underrated comedy. I've been quoting this movie for like 30 years. Glad you both liked it so much.
A few great movies NOBODY reacts to:
*Frailty:* Matthew McConaughey and Bill Paxton thriller.
I'm glad ya'll liked the movie. It made me laugh so much as a teenager 🤣 .Great review
I love this movie. I find it so funny. "Snaps" last name Provolone, I didn't know that was a type of cheese until I was an adult and started working in an Italian restaurant.
One of the most underrated movies. Not to mention the cameos. Story , comedy and performances. 100%
The movie is remake from old french movie Oscar from 1967 with Louis de Funès(THE comedy geneius). As much i love Louis de Funès this version of Oscar with Stallone is just pure comedy.... and really underrated comedy
This is one of my most favorite movies. It just makes me smile every time I see it.
This is such a hidden gem of a movie.
This is such a fun movie. I remember the first time that my family saw this, we laughed and laughed.
This movie is underrated imo, Stallone has some good comedic timing.
Seeing Kirk Douglas here made me remember Greedy - memory serves it was a hilarious movie. My folks and I would watch Greedy and Doc Hollywood as 2 MJ Fox comedies.
Man, Greedy is EPIC! I love that movie, i showed it to my bro inlaw a few years ago and we both were laughing through the whole movie.
Greedy is a lot of fun with some great 90's talent. And Olivia D'Abo 😍
This is one of my favorites. The comedy is so fast! And witty! They all do some amazing comical acting
À mon avis, la version française d'"Oscar" avec Louis de Funès est beaucoup plus drôle que la version avec Stallone.
My favorite scene is when Snaps disarms Connie of his multiple weapons. 🤣
Subbed!
Definintely an underrated comedy. A nice spin on the classic "The Sting". Who knew Stallone could do comedy?
This is a remake of the french movie Oscar (1967) with Louis de Funès.
As a fan of De Funès I was reluctant to see a version with Stallone at first, and I was very surprised how Stallone managed to make something so different, yet so faithfull to the original film, and at the same time being so funny.
THIS, is how you do a remake, love this movie.
You should try the original movie tho, De Funès is a blast of comedy genius.
Love this movie! Me and my friends use to rotate being Angelo for the day. Snapping at things we wanted and needed 😂 Ahhhh memoires...
This movie and Roger Rabbit are what me fall in love with vintage 30s and 40s vehicles.
What's Up Doc? is an homage to the Cary Grant/Kathryn Hepburn film Bringing Up Baby.
@@richardb6260 One of my favorite movies! It's nice to see that someone else knows it! But I didn't mention it bc they don't react to old b&w movies. Wish they did.
@@hannahs9138 sometimes I'll think of Katherine Hepburn dragging what she thinks is a tame leopard by a leash and it always makes me laugh.
@@richardb6260 haha love it! Always wondered how she got that leash on him. "Susan's out looking for the wrong leopard! Oh poor brave Susan, she's helpless without me." Lol
@@hannahs9138 "Oh what's the matter with you? You've been slapping at me the whole way"
Finally! Why don't more people know about this gem?
Tim Curry has an incredible performance as Darkness in Legend (1985). I think Legend is one of Tom Cruise's first movie rolls. Also Mia Sara (Ferris Bueller's girlfriend) is in it.
Oh man this is awesome! Freaking love this movie ever since I first watched it as a kid. Totally underrated comedy and one of Stallone's best.
Definitely one of my guilty pleasure movies! Very underrated in my opinion.
I USED to LOVE this movie back then. it is great to see Sly do comedy like this
Believe it or not, the Coen bros. have done a fast paced 30s-40s comedy like this style called "The Hudsucker Proxy" starring Tim Robbins, Paul Newman, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Bruce Campbell.
I like The Hudsucker Proxy.
I love The Hudsucker Proxy. I was just thinking about it recently, I think I suggested it when they did their Shawshank Redemption video.
Don Ameche(Father Clemente) appeared in several John Landis movies: Trading Places, Coming to America and Oscar.
This movie feels like watching a theater production It's alot of fun.
