Sultana takes the chance that Sultan Suleiman is away for the campaign and wants to silence Hürrem who raises her voice day by day. She wants to marry her with someone she finds but Hürrem doesn't know that. She gets flurried to write a letter to Sultan Suleiman whom she's longing for.
In the mean time, Suleiman is on his way to Belgrade. They discuss about the phases of the campaign at the stops during their journey. People comes up with different ideas in the war council. Suleiman thinks that there are other people that he also needs to get their opinions.
Hürrem finds out that she will get married with someone else and be sent away from Topkapı Palace. She can't control her anger as she finds out that. She claims that she is pregnant at cost of her life. However, it won't be possible for her to make Sultana believe that.
At the age of 26, when he ascended to the throne, Sultan Suleiman aimed to build an empire more powerful than Alexander the Great and to render the Ottomans invincible. Throughout his 46-year reign, he became the greatest warrior and ruler of both East and West.
The young Suleiman received news of his succession to the throne during a hunting party in 1520. Unaware that he would be ruling a reign beyond his dreams, he left behind his wife son and took to the road with his close friend and companion Pargali Ibrahim to reach the Topkapi Palace in Istanbul. As they started their journey overland, an Ottoman ship set sail from Crimea in the Black Sea, bringing female slaves as gifts for the Ottoman palace… On this ship was Alexandra La Rossa, the daughter of a Ukrainian Orthodox minister, taken away from her family and sold to the Crimean palace. She had no idea that she would become Hurrem, wife of Sultan Suleiman and mother of princes, ruling the empire with him through bloodshed and intrigue.
As Sultan Suleiman conquered the world, his great passion for Hurrem would clash with his love for and trust in his closest friend and advisor, Grand Vizier Pargali Ibrahim, all set against the backdrop of the tension between Christian Europe and the Ottoman Empire in the 16th century.

I have to agree. This incident & entire scene was huge foreshadowing for Ibrahim the 🐍. The Sultan desparatly screaming for Ibrahim with a pregnant Hurrem in his lap dying from poison while Ibrahim is off secretly wooing his sister for the sake of power. Then Ibrahim chooses to side with Mahidevran. Thats not something a best friend does.
Edit: Also, let's all note Ibrahim the 🐍 eyes shaking in fear when Suleiman mentioned that one pays for ones mistakes. Because, oh boy, was he already making a ton of mistakes.

he was a traitor pretty much from the beginning, it's funny to see people defend him and mahidevran. They plotted from the beginning against the sultan's wishes and best interests, and brought everything upon themselves that followed later.
He actually wanted suleiman dead so that he can rule with mustafa and mahidevran

Sometimes I feel sorry for the servants being (A) Punished (B) Sent to the dungeon or (C) Loosing their life because they are in between two Royals ordering them to harm the other. They get punished if they do it or they get punished if they refuse to obey orders.

Let's be honest, Ibrahim could never forgive Suleiman for being his slave. Suleiman called Ibrahim his brother, elevated him, making him second only to himself in the entire empire, but never freed him. Because he knew how dangerous it could be. Suleiman always saw this absorbing emptiness in Ibrahim’s soul, which even the position of the Grand Vizier could not fill.
He saw his arrogance, his thirst for more and more power, his deceitful nature as an intriguer and kept hoping that he would realize his mistakes and correct himself. But Ibrahim could not correct himself, because deep, deep in his soul he despised and hated Suleiman. Just one reminder of slavery was enough for him to begin to cheat on the woman to whom he swore unbreakable and eternal love, what else can we talk about? The dude decided to protect a woman who could poison not only the pregnant Hurrem, but also the Sultan himself. He didn’t care about the unborn child and the life of Suleiman, he would only have to protect his beloved Makhidevran, because she could be easily manipulated in the future, unlike Hurrem.
He takes out his anger on the weakest, who are unable to resist him; this is a clear sign of a worthless, vile person, offended by the whole world.
All this applies to the serial Ibrahim; I don’t know what kind of person he was in reality. We will never know the whole truth
Ibrahim grew to be very jealous of the Sultan. He wanted power and absolute authority. He cheated on Sultana Hatice. He lead a double life. He was on the side of evil. And he was executed.

Daye is faithful to Valide for many years, but when Valide does her wrong, Date gives her full support to Hurrem. Same for Gulsah who Hurrem eventually saves her life. Hurrem is the hero of the story, no one can convince me otherwise lol

As medicines got better, the need for concubines slowly went away which is why they aren't generally a thing anymore. We can't use today's societal standards to judge the past, it doesn't make sense
