I used to be HOOKED on this game!!! Always played this when I got home from school. I was around 6. Definitely a classic. I remember all these levels. Wish I still had my Sega Genesis and games.
This is an under rated game in the PAC man franchise I found out that this game is super cool I love how the music sounds on the Sega gensis and well the only version of this game that I've played is the arcade version on namco museum mega mix
The arcade Pac-Mania has been on a lot of compilations, from the PS1 (Namco Museum 5), to the Wii, to PS2 a whopping 3 times (Pac-Man World 2, both Namco Museum compilations), not to mention has seen a lot of ports, the best port overall for it's time is the X68000 revision, which is a Japanese port, which retains all the Japanese versions levels, some cut out of the western versions (each area is supposed to have 3 stages, not 2). Counting that Wii version, the NES port, the Genesis port, 2 of the 3 PS2 emulations, plus the PS1 port, I have the game a whopping 6 times, 4 of them arcade revisions. The PS1 version is from the Japanese Namco Museum 5, with all the levels from the Japanese version intact.
@@MissBex217 Better sound, better use of colors in the arcade version. This one wasn't properly put together, it took fans to at least hack and fix the colors in this port, the patch can easily be found and applied to the ROM. There are videos here on UA-cam that show the hack.
You have to get so many points for one up. Also, the last level is basically impossible and if this is not tas, then how you beat the game flawlessly amazes me.
Nah, it's quite solid, got it and the Genesis version earlier this year. It's an 8 bit port, and rather well done by Tengen. Pretty much plays like Pac-Mania, aka how it is supposed to play.
I completely forgot this comment existed, i forgot i was even into this game. Pacmania on the nes is alright, i much prefer the genesis version more than the nes, however i didnt need to express it like this.
No Funky jumps slightly less than Pac-Man. U can pass Spunky only if you are boosting and only if you have great timing, I did it 3 time in a single round (I still dunno how)...
@@thealternativej7994 Outside of the arcade version, the emulations of the arcade version seen on later Namco Museums/Pac-Man World 2, and the PS1 Namco Museum 5 port, that X68000 version is fantastic as the X68000 was the heart of many arcade machines, even Capcom programmed their CPS1 games on an X68000.
So cute how each ghost has their own unique facial expressions or just faces. 😛 :-P

Download an emulator on your phone, I recommend retroarch. Relive all your childhood memories
criminally underrated game
This is the worst version of the game. The arcade one sounds and looks way better. But yeah Pac-Mania is a pretty good game. 👍
@@Shadow2237 Non-sence
@@Shadow2237 Say hello to the ZX Spectrum
@@Shadow2237 There is a color patch that at least makes the game a bit closer to it's arcade counterpart, does not fix the games music though.
16:56 How the flip?
Inky seems alot more aggressive on this version, it's normally Blinky and sue who are more aggressive
The sprite creator most likely had played the apple IIe version of pac man, where inky is aggressive.
I used to play this when I was kid. İt's really enjoyable game

Of curiosity in the remake of this game blinky when you eat a certain amount of pac dots he gots angry in his sprite and moves much more faster
it just bothers me so much that he doesn't eat the ghost after the power ball
Love the game's new ending theme, its so victorious and satisfying
0:03 WHY IS PAC-MAN AND HIS HANDS ARE LIKE THIS AND I LIKE THE ARCADE VERSION BETTER THAN THIS!!!!!!
IDK. You probably shouldn't ask me. because I don't know why you like the arcade version better than the genesis one.

@@Bloodreign1 Oh. OK.
Right before I was about to sleep, I was humming the first stage BGM. IDK suddenly I had to hear it play again.
32:35 this music olny reminds me of sonic and not pac mania
I love Pac-Mania.
2:10 Pacman theater? Oooooh I'm gonna need more popcorn!

Yeah you can't even see where the ghosts are until its too late in this game

32:23 Game ending video!
I know
I have 2 questions
1 what are all the names of the new ghosts
2 where was clyde
Clyde was the yellow ghost
The green ghost is named Funky
The grey (black in this case) ghost is called Spunky
And the Purple Ghost’s name is Sue.
i need the version 10 hours of 2nd song.. its so cool
best ending ever
I remember this game since as a kid!
Spunky looks like Glitchy in this version.
Wait that's the version on the My Arcade thing
It’s interesting, it’s supposedly the same version, but the colors look different in the Pocket Player version of this game. The music too.
On the Level Select Screen, Press Buttons in this order: ABACABABACAB
NES VERSION OF THIS SUCKS
Still it was a nice try.

RUN PAC-MAN RUN LIKE AN COMA AND BEHIND YOU!!! 12:24
What happened to the pyramids in sandbox land?
31:58 okay. You would’ve definetley lost a life there. Seeing as Spunky jumps as high as PacMan
SuperStarfy Kid2002 hey that's true
Oh wow i didn't even notice that.

Those end levels are moving at mach chicken
Sounds the best on genesis
Sounds better on the obsecured X68000
It's better in Arcade
Maybe not the best but the second 🙂
But in Jungly Steps the tubular bell sounds more realistic even if on the arcade is better sounding
