The profile pics look good on a bigger screen, but on a smaller phone screen, I literally cannot tell the difference between most of them. They all look very similar and blend together. Not well optimized for phones
I appreciate that they are trying to make the game look fresher, but the new icons look similar. For example, the Beskar Mando and BH Mando look almost identical and they don't even have a new model. Also I think the new icons are from new characters that are released after Lord Vader
They should have made reworking the 3d models a priority over the icons. After all the primary purpose of the 2d icons is to be easily distinguishable, and for that realism isn't always the best way to go. I also have the feeling that most of them were optimized for PC screens
Requirements look good. 1 relic away from GAS and Snips and ventress was already r5 so just missing nightrooper. First GL I’m seriously chasing after as soon as possible. I was going after JMk pretty quick but Ahsoka is now #1 on my priority list
I really don’t like the change to live action versions because its just so much harder to convey, I dont know if CG know this, but their game is animated, so animated versions of characters translate better. Some of them look good, but look at CAT and Omega, two characters which were made for animation, their portraits look really bad. Ezra and Jolee have the same problem, they look nothing like what they actually looked like in their source material (and their in-game models). Hux and Canderous are hard to make out and both just look like random white guys on a tiny little screen. And Krennic and Finn *I think* were just pulled from their movies’ marketing material. They look way out of place. Overall I think they did good with the art, just not a fan of the direction for animation-only characters and I just don’t think some of these were what I wanted.

I get the feeling that since Leia had such easy requirements for her GL event that Ahsoka is going to be more in line with JMLS in difficulty of requirements, especially if it’s going to take two Epic Confrontation characters to get her. I also think that we will probably see a new version of Sabine before GL Ahsoka comes out who will be a requirement.

Feel like for the longest time it was just General Skywalker, but the GLAT (not sure how I love that acronym lol) reqs have him as General Anakin Skywalker. Nice! Edit to add : There's a handful of portraits that are **super** similar to other ones, which isn't great. GBA and Sun Fac, Fulcrum and CAT (that's a serious issue) both come to mind. I know they *just* updated them, but I'm hoping for some changes to those specifically to help differentiate characters at a glance again

I think they're pulling a Darth Malak on us. They're going to drop GL Ahsoka and she'll be fine as far as GLs go in 2024, but then like a week later they'll release the requirements for GL Thrawn with 2 days warning and he'll be more unbeatable than Leia and have a datacron set literally on day 1.

Visual update might look amazing on your computer, but pull out your phone. This visual update is painful for people playing on a mobile device. You have to concentrate so hard to figure out what the pixels mean. Turn off the sparkley background.
They ruined the portraits!!!! Greedo looks like a green gungan. Ewoks look like Orcs. Yodas are messed up. Disney, please stop trying to fix what is not broken!!!

I'm not a huge fan of the new thumbnails. A lot of them make it harder to ID who's who, and the artwork isn't great in a lot of cases. The 501st squad is particularly hard to tell who's who. I'm not rushing POW. Without MQG, he's not super-useful, and my Kyros are needed elsewhere.

I think I know. I know why they've steadily been moving away from the cartoony/clone wars artstyle, and going more for the live action stuff.. Sure they were already doing it a liittttle bit before, but this coming, not all that long after Heroes of Middle Earth completely flopped? I think they took everyones feedback and negativity about the dogshit cartoony artstyle of that game, and were like "Ok, we need to make sure that doesn't happen to SwoGoH ever" lmao
The only character I wish they did differently was Mon Mothma. They really ought to make her look like the actress from Andor. EDIT: Royal Guard looks bugged, like there was a shading error.
Dunno if this is happening to anyone else, but the raid is unplayable in my device. The moment the shields drop, the game stutters and then immediately crashes afterwards. My phone isn't completely abysmal in terms of specs, it's got a snapdragon 695 as the SOC and 6 GB of RAM, there's no reason for it to be struggling with this game
I actually think Sidious looks worse, his live action face is better on the Emperor's body, his CW version just brings up memories of a skinny old man with a smile, cutting through Maul and Savage
I think all the thumbnails got updated for all characters that pre date the SK requirements. Those are the oldest characters I can find that didn't get an update. And obviously everything that came after them with the exception of GLs didn't receive updated thumbnails.
Visual updates are Sidious, Boba, Yoda, Droideka, Jango and Nute
I think there are a few touchups of Qira and Young Han as well
