Been married for almost 20 years... we've had a lot of issues in our sex life until the day we became comfortable having a conversation about it.. with this podcast I've learnt that as married couples truly our challenges are almost similar... as a man I relate with everything the gentleman is saying and I can hear my wife through the lady. Sheesh. Mr Makh, we need you to put together a men's conference. If I was on social media, I would reach out to you for some one-on-one time. Our churches don't do enough to talk about these things. And I find that even church leaders aren't always equipped to counsel us as married men regarding these things. Also, too many men are refusing to be vulnerable enough to have these chats. Society forces men into boxes and generalizations. It leaves no room for nuance/different experiences. Your sharing this convo is making room!

This has been my cry to the Lord that Daddy this topic is so ignored in our churches.thorough attention to this most significant aspect of marriage is so inadequate
We need to explore it more,it is so deep qnd has caused a lot of divorces and adultery in the body of Christ.
I thank the Holy Spirit who always help my husband and I to navigate this aspect especially when I found myself not desiring him 18yrs later but God intervened and helped us find the root cause of the problem,I tell you in such seasons love is tested and it is love that Prevails and causes us to win and come to the other side.
Indeed Intimacy is emotional,intellectual and spiritual connection more than the physical connection.

This blessed me in so many ways as a woman who is preparing for courtship and who is healing from childhood SA trauma and struggling to build confidence in Godly sex after therapy and time of healing and still feeling somewhat uneasy about facing it. I am trusting God and praying a lot about my future sex life but appreciate conversations like this so much! I want to praise your darling husband for this conversation Mrs Makh because this conversation will bless many men and women. One thing I want to Mrs Makh is your body was not betraying you. That is a negative term towards your body. Your body was and is always trying to communicate messages to you, if you don’t listen then the results will be painful. It’s like saying to a baby “why are you crying?? Stop it”. That won’t help you, they’re crying because that is how babies communicate their needs.
I hope you get my point.

So, we conceived our first born on a “flat tyre season” 😅. That’s what we called it.
It was a funny space for us but I obviously felt like he didn’t find me desirable anymore. We thrived through the season until things went back to normal and I later found out I was pregnant.
Now every time there’s a “flat tyre season” I’ll be scared that Jeso, I’m gonna conceive again 😢😅😂

Thank you for having this conversation although I was a bit skeptical because I’m unmarried so I thought it would be irrelevant for me. However as always I have found a very good lesson about communication, those tough conversations are necessary in a relationship. Also it sounds like it’s a normal thing that happens because in this life, all other factors around intimacy are inevitable to arise and it will affect performance one way or the other, we have to expect such that it might possibly happen. It’s a realistic expectation.

Oh this episode hit home so bad….. I don’t know how to even act cause I have guilt trip my partner about this for so long and now it just feels like I have been unfair towards him. But I am relieved that I’m not the only one and I am not crazy.
