At the beginning of the episode, you mentioned that your marriage is not perfect, but I have to say that one of the main reasons your marriage is working so well is likely your level of self-awareness. It's admirable how you resolve issues and communicate honestly. With this level of honesty and transparency relationships are most likely to thrive.❤❤ this channel is so liberating.

The Bible says in Genesis 3:16 “I will sharpen the pain in your pregnancy and in pain you will give birth. And you will have desire to control your husband but he will rule over you’
We can be controlling and I think it’s cause we want things to happen smoothly and in a certain way. I see myself in Petula so much. This is such an interesting conversation. Thank you so much for opening up to us and being vulnerable. As a single who hopes to get married someday, this is teaching me so much about the realities of marriage. I’m grateful for these kinds of platforms. ❤

Im listening so far, and it sounds like hubby has found his own path to cope with the said issue, and he is advising his wife to follow in his path because he believes it has worked for him. And though I can appreciate that sentiment, it could be possible that what he has chosen to do is not to resolve but to adapt in a way that is not going to work for the wife. I believe he should lean more into what his wife needs in order to feel safe and protected instead of insisting that she copes the way that he copes. And wife may need to consider that he has not been able to find the answer for himself in the matter, just to survive the matter, maladaptive as it may be longterm. (My two cents)

This was deep. And the beauty Is that both of you are willing to stay in the ring as Lerato would say. Thank you for showing us what marriage could look like when both parties are committed to making it work. Above all else we give God the glory because it is the word of God that helps us to renew our minds and be Christ like.

Wow, that is true Lerato, your wife tackles life with such honesty, and also the ability to see her own shortcomings, a rare quality indeed. And this is in a world where everyone is very clear about what is wrong with others, and out to correct the next person while they fail to see fault in themselves.
I also commend you for your honesty and humility to not only notice it but point it out verbally. That speaks to the goodness of your heart, Lerato.
May God keep you guys and bless your marriage to continue to be a blessing unto others❤

Oh God I’ve been praying for this type of gentleness. And to see that it exists and is attainable. I will continue stand in anticipation for it. One of my greatest fears in getting into a relationship again is having to depart with the peace within self and having to expect gentleness and the continuous desire to be seen and valued on a purist level.
You both display this so beautifully. & it ignites in me the desire for marriage and all it comes with.

Sanctification is not easy even privately and you’re so brave to do it before us, thank you for sacrificing yourself like that. God is using you so mightily to sanctify me as I feel we’re really similar. God bless you!

This was such a difficult conversation to have especially when you are navigating through it with secrecy, cause you can’t divulge much.
I wish all couples may learn to have such critical conversations freely without fear of breaking hearts. Now this also needs a level of maturity that is beyond comprehension.
Conflict management is hard to tackle, especially when it involves other parties. As much as I understand and appreciate Leratos views there is a level of tolerance that anyone can take.
Any human being, has a level of tolerance, she can move in a direction that you are advising whilst she may habour resentment.
I’m happy that you are seeing a therapist. That is a brilliant move. You guys are winning in your marriage. Just remember it really doesn’t have to be perfect. Nothing in life is

Oooh my word!!! This sounds exactly like what my husband and I are facing. And his response is exactly like Lerato is saying. Mine was exactly like Pheto’s! We had the disagreement last night 😮! I needed him to confront an issue that has been brewing. He left it too long, mainly because he is not a confrontational person. I on the other hand felt that by keeping quiet he is not protecting me. He kept saying, ‘even if confront the person they will never change. It just made me so mad. Because I am confrontational and him speaking up would have made me feel more protected 😅

27:23 I get Mrs Makhs, there’s safety in knowing why you going a different route, as she said information and communication I thrive in that as well. I also get Mr Makhs that he wants to be trusted on deciding on a different route, however it’s better if a man communicates that and then a woman can rest in that you got it and you acknowledged my feelings and pain.

However, I’m learning that as women, we must learn to love our husbands in way that when the Lord would come and weigh a situation and what went wrong. The husband must not be found wanting and in trouble with the Lord. Love him to the point where he would be protected from the Lords judgement 😭😭.

My Pastor mentioned this other day that the things you don't conquer before marriage will surely bleed on your marriage and I now understand why, because I'm also like Phetola, I can be "controlling" at times and want to do things in a certain way, and I also battle with trust issues, which I now see how these things are currently affecting the relationships that I have with friends and family.

Thank you fam for the beautiful conversation, I'm like Mrs Makhs, recently my boyfriend told me that I'm controlling and I was offended and wanted to defend myself butcI took time to digest it and he was right, this happened when we had an argument I wanted us to confront the issue before hand, meanwhile he was silent minding his own business, that got me frustrated got I think a part of me wanted to control the situation how he reacts and me trying to find solutions coz I'm solution based..another thing that play a huge role is how we were raised, from a young age Ii had to go grow up fast,my mom is a pastor I had to do chores at home take care of my siblings, take care of the household that's where the controlling started I'm 28 now I'm tired I want to be led

    @luu.yandaa 3 місяці тому +2

The level of self-awareness and willingness to find solutions to existing matters and to your 25% of your pie, makes you guys stronger than comprehension. God prunes branches and things in our lives that don't bear fruit, so more fruit is beared(John 15:1-4). I would like to say, that as you've mentioned that you're a team, that you need to stand together to "fight" against the problem, instead of fighting each other. I see that counseling is working and you comprehend this strategy, so i just want to say that God is pruning because He knows where He's taking you and He cannot bring you to it with these parts of you still in you. Go with God and be blessed!❤

My mum and I also had an issue similar to yours. She doesn't want to acknowledge it but is rather quick to overlook it. She then explained that whenever she acknowledged the situation, she felt like she was exacerbating it.

Yhooo I love you guys so much🥰😍. Phetola i also felt that look at the end. Just when i was thinking - Yhooo Lerato is looking at his wife with love and you noticed it too and i was like yeah i was not seeing things there ❣. Lerato can you find time and have a programme for Boy kids where you will guide them on how to be a good man, i feel this will assist our kids to be good husbands to next generation than trying to change grown men. #boys2men. Ndiyanithanda so much my peeps

What a beautiful kingdom centred talk on counseling therapy. Every wise counsel gives one an opportunity for growth. Don't be hasty to complete your counseling sessions. I know that sometimes there are financial implications. But learn to commit your family finances where your marriage health is. WHERE NO COUNSEL IS, THE PEOPLE FALL. BUT there is safety in a multitude of counselors. Proverbs 11: 14
❤️✝️ You are a beautiful kingdom vessel. Re ya leboga.

One thing I love about you guys, is the kindness you extend to each other even when you disagree...I love how your husbands perspective of what made him fall inlove with you, never shifts even when confronted with one of the biggest conflict #Family3rdParty!!! Wasn't that lucky and all failed.
