One of my foundational lessons was "Don't buy a stock just for the Dividend " especially if the price keeps declining. The Dividend Yield means nothing if stock doesn't appreciate.
@@JH-xd1zo thats what i like to do. i hate these people who only care about price appreciation. Say you have a stock that does -6% over 1 year, but the yield is 15%. You are +9% (basic assumption could be false) and each time you DRIP you are getting more shares and possibly more future dividends than if it went up.

As an investing enthusiast, I often wonder how top level investors are able to become millionaires off investing. . I’ve been sitting on over $545K equity from a home sale and I’m not sure where to go from here, is it a good time to buy into stocks or do I wait for another opportunity?
Find quality stocks that have long term potential, and ride with those stocks. I have found it takes someone who is very familiar with the market to make such good picks.
A lot of folks downplay the role of advlsors until being burnt by their own emotions. I remember couple summers back, after my lengthy divorce, I needed a good boost to help my business stay afloat, hence I researched for licensed advisors and came across someone of utmost qualifications. She's helped grow my reserve notwithstanding inflation, from $275k to $850k.
How can one find a verifiable financial planner? I would not mind looking up the professional that helped you. I will be retiring in two years and I might need some management on my much larger portfolio. Don't want to take any chances.

YMAX has too much junk in it. I think even though I sold it before announced changes to prospectus ULTY is going to be your 'Index fund" type winner. Jay himself has recently said with new prospectus ULTY is basically a hedge fund. It's one of the 4 high income etfs that the Oracle holds and as he doesn't pick losers that's a feather in ULTY's cap as well. Just saying YMAX holds too much trash to ever be more than average. Safe-ish yes, but to the moon? Never. It has too many anchors to ever get off the ground. Sorry.
