My advice to everyone is this : if you want to grow big this year especially in your finances. Be willing to take risks. Saving is great but taking risks puts you on a pedestal where you wouldnt have to worry about savings as you do now. Thanks to Mrs Helena Crouse, my portolio is doing really great and im proud of the decisions i made last year

The majority of the population always has been poor. It's a combination of many variables. Adding to it, the USA is getting poorer (consuming more than it produces), so the pie is shrinking amd people are generally getting poorer.

there is no free lunch. dividend payouts directly affect the stock price. most of them have a negative return in the long run. just investing $10/20 in the top 50/100 companies on their bad days yields a much better overall return in the long run. on top of that, once you accumulate 100 shares, you can sell covered calls, which makes quarterly dividend look like a joke

I have a 3 fund portfolio consisting of 33% S&P, 33% Total stock, and 33% international. I feel a need to focus on complete growth so I went 100% stocks, but does the SP500 and TSM overlap too much to make sense holding both? However I’ve been in the red for a month now. I work hard for my money, so investing is making me a nervous sad wreck. I don’t know if I should sell everything, sit and just wait but watching my portfolio dwindle away is such an eye -sore.

When it comes to investment, diversification is key. That is why I have my interests set on key sectors based on performance and projected growth. They range from the EV sector, renewable energy, Tech and Health (AMD) alongside coins, and gold. I'm also working on an investment plan with my Fin. The avg. American is having a tough time, I know I am not alone. There are others in same position as me. By certain statistics: 22% of americans have no retirement savings. 64% are worried that they will not have money in latter years while 47% of adults who are not yet retired think they have to work part-time in retirement. How can I best grow the 100k I have saved seperately outside retirement access which of course had depleted over the years?

    • @jcurdrayeric243
      @jcurdrayeric243 6 днів тому

Effective personal finance management is more important than the amount of money saved, regardless of whether income is earned through job or investment. Individuals can seek counsel from a certified financial advisor to optimize financial outcomes, who can provide specialized advice and methods to decrease expenses and maximize income.

    • @rogerwheelers4322

I completely agree; I am in my mid 40s, approaching retirement, and have approximately over 2million dollars in external retirement funds. I am debt free and have very little money in retirement funds compared to the total value of my portfolio over the past three years. To be honest, the Fin-advisor can only be neglected, not rejected. Just do your due diligence to identify a fiduciary one.

This has been coming for years and is no surprise. Boomers, labeled the "me" generation foolishly spend their income, failing to transfer it into asset wealth and have no one to blame but themselves.

  • @Seventeen_Syllables

Remember when kids were encouraged to get some sort of job like mowing lawns or getting a paper route? That practice seems to have gone out of fashion, and this is a shame. Even if they made little money they developed skills and disciplines that would serve them well to avoid most of these problems. As to homeownership, I recommend that you stop thinking of your home as an investment. Your home is where you live, not where you get money. Too many people treat their home like a piggy bank. Better approach (my opinion, not to be mistaken for advice) is to get the least house that meets your needs rather than the most house that the lender will finance for you. What you save in mortgage payments (and property axes) can go into investments that pay dividends or interest. If you need cash, take it from accumulated dividends and interest. Do not spend your capital. Easy? No, but doable.

In trading, possessing technical analysis skills is not sufficient on its own; discipline and emotional maturity play crucial roles in achieving success. Embracing the mindset of "time in the market vs. timing the market" proves valuable, especially during market fluctuations. Nice to see this here. A lot of folks downplay the role of advisors until they’re burned by their own emotions-no offense. I remember last year, I needed a good boost to help my business stay afloat, so I researched licensed advisors and thankfully came across Loraine. She’s helped grow my reserve, despite inflation, from $152k to nearly a 7-figure sum as of today..Her insights and daily siignals are worth following.

I stopped paying house insurance about 20+ years ago after my insurance premium double one year without a claim. I called and asked why. He said the state insurance regulation dept. said he could. I started saving the premium. The money I've saved and invested make me easily self-insured. I have about $270K in a brokerage account which grows about 10% year. This year it is up $92K so far. My total house valuation is now $125K.. I don't pull any money from the brokerage as it is only an emergency fund. I have no debt and don't need that money anyway. My neighbors think I'm poor which fine with me.

In my country, if you call yourself middle class, you are Top 10% or even Top 1%. The ones most people call them "poor" are the real middle class.

There are enough examples of dividend stocks outperforming growth stocks in terms of price.

I do both. As you pointed out both have their benefits. By the way, several of my growth stocks recently initiated dividends including Alphabet, Meta, and Salesforce. For me this is the best of both worlds. I had the benefit of the growth. Now I get the benefit of the dividend growth as these companies have plenty of room to increase their dividends. On issue with your video is you referred to dividend paying blue chip stocks several times, but there are also non dividend paying blue chip stocks like Amazon and Berkshire Hathaway.

I know dividend investing is most effective when approached with a long-term perspective. However, I'd appreciate valid tips on companies that can help boost performance on my $350K portfolio notwithstanding inflation, my goal is 20 - 40% year over year.

prioritize patience. ideally, utilizing a FA can help with informed buying and selling decisions both for short and long-term gains

Right, I once downplayed the role a FA until after 40% portfolio loss amid covid-19 outbreak. At once, I consulted a license professional and my portfolio got revamped thankfully. As of today, I'm just about 10% shy of $1m after 100s of thousands invested.

First, remember that dividends are not "free". When companies pay out dividends, it gets reflected in their share price. So, when a company pays, as an example, a $1 dividend, it reduces the share price of that stock by $1. So, unless the share price goes up, there is no gain. In the overall scheme of things, IMHO, it is more important to focus on TOTAL RETURN, especially if the investor is simply going to reinvest the dividends. Now if that person is using the dividend for other purposes, that is a different story. Generally speaking, growth (again IMHO) is better for younger investors with longer time frames and dividend stocks are for those who need income (for retirees).

You did not mention the elimination of defined benefit plans (pensions). This is probably the biggest reason for boomers having problems in retirement.

If you focus on dividend income, you are being foolish. If you focus on share price growth, you are being foolish. You need to focus on total return: growth plus income. If you are reinvesting dividends, you will get the same total return whether you have 10% growth and 2% dividend or whether you have 2% growth and 10% income. The difference occurs if you stop reinvesting dividends and start living off dividend income. But even that isn't necessary, because you can sell shares. Dividend income is turned into growth thru reinvestment. Growth is turned into income by selling shares. They are interchangeable. Focus on total return.

Totally agree. It’s literally a fact. Yet people still want to feel better with their investment choices by believing dividend stocks is literally free money. Total returns is what matters in the end.
