Hi David, just discovered ur channel. Thank you for this video! I know this text and its content by Mohanty but it's been a while since I read it, your summary brought it back to my mind very vividly. Your explanations were clear and easy to follow :) keep going!
Merleau-Ponty-Ponty reminds us of Hegel's understanding of the Orient, "One is tempted, once again, to refer him to Hegel who explains the Orient so well as the dream of a natural infinite without any historical mediation and held in the motionlessness of death." But, he provides a full treatment of the alignment of Eastern religion and Christianity, as distinct from philosophy!, in "Signs" in the chapter 'Everywhere and Nowhere.' It just seemed to me that women's issues and rights are not really universal but are culturally specific, and in many cases individually specific. So, enumerating the particular issues in different cultures or nations is more interesting than a quip like, "so women can do whatever they like with their bodies!"
@@leftoverbagel9014 Agreed, he responded to all my questions in a live chat. To be fair it would take him forever to respond to everyone's comments because he has so many subscribers, so it makes more sense to just go live.
I have a doubt, have u discussed about the terms spectrality and hauntology in any of your videos ? If not ,please share your opinions on that , it will be a great help, hope.to hear from you soon...!

Another great video, thanks for sharing.
So clearly explained, thank you!
Does this essay connect to the Conrad novel in any way?
I was going to ask the same thing.
Watching from Bangladesh
This guy never answers any comments. He's working on his PhD. He doesn't always get things right, but he's the best summarizing important ideas.

@@leftoverbagel9014 OK I will. Tanks to you.
