I'm with you on the throw, texture is so important. My youngest sleeps on his throw on top of the sheet because he loves the texture next to his skin.
Love your socks, I was knitting socks with my Mum in the hospice while we saw her over and have given them to my youngest son as I'll never be able to wear them but when I glimpse them on him I remember her with love.

Thank you, Ali. I have looked forward to every video. I know it takes a lot of time and effort to make these and they are so appreciated. It's a snowy Sunday afternoon in Nova Scotia. We are having an historic snowfall. It's been snowing since noon on Friday, and our snowfall totals by tomorrow when it finally stops may set a new record. I know what you mean about it feeling like a proper day off. When I have a day off with my husband and we go out, while the kids are at school it's like we've been released for the day. It's so relaxing xx
I hope you end up using the Arcane Fiberworks yarn! They're my favorite dyers and their yarn is so soft and amazing! I'm knitting my husband a cardigan using their marshmallowesque Dk in the color way "you'll float too" based on IT! Their prices are spectacular and they're just all around awesome.
Hi, Ali, this week of vlogs was great fun and a nice surprise. Thank you. I share the seasonal thing also and love January but know with February spring is not far behind. As for your crochet blanket idea search, check out Attic 24's webite, as she has a whole list of patterns with photos. I prefere crochet blankets rather than knitted. Crochet goes faster. Hi to Dan and the girls and ofcourse Mia and the chickens.

I have so enjoyed the week of vlogs! Glad Phoebe is on the mend as well! Tell Lillia that I have read The Cloisters, and it is quite good. I read it after I visited The Cloisters in New York. It is separate from the main campus of the Metropolitan Museum and sits on, I think, the highest point in Manhattan, right by the Hudson River. It is the coolest place! Once you are inside, it feels like you are in a monastery in Europe (very different from anything here in the states). The Met is one of my favorite places in NYC, and discovering this addition was such fun.

I don’t think you should bother with making a cushion, if you can’t handle touching or cutting it you’re not going to enjoy leaning up and cuddling onto it.
If the washing machine has melted it I’d probably steer away from turning it into a water bottle cover as well as it seems like it has a high non-natural fibre content which won’t work well for a water bottle cover

Hi Ali, have been loving your February blogs. My husband and I watch together each night. He enjoys when you take your walks and all of the beautiful nature in your part of the world. We are in So. California, US. We also enjoy your and Dan's interaction with each other and your girls are just delightful. I was just watching today's vlog and you opened your Arcane Fibreworks yarn. They are one of my absolute favorite dyers. He has a UA-cam channel and shares his dying and he always has the most spectacular inspiration photos, you will love it. Happy Making *)

No longer a crocheter, but would one of those ripple stitch afghans work? In the US, I think in the US it is done with single crochet. I love the new coverlet. Sounds like a fun weekend.

Oh my goodness -- I feel as if you have secretly visited my house today. I am (1) knitting on Acrcane Fibre Works yarn (a Musselburgh Hat). I am (2) listenening to The Cloisters (I just started). I am (3) having beige food for dinner (braised cabbaged, baked potato and cauliflower "steak" -- can't get much more beige than that!). And I am (4) 2 glasses into the rose. Oh my.........

Hi, great vlogs really enjoyed them, my daughter had a throw that went like yours! It had a thermal lining so was wondering if yours did? I washed it several times and tumbled it and it pretty much went back as it was. Good luck worth a try. X😊

Looking forward to your blanket pattern! I've noticed knitted blanket squares with a diagonal decrease ridge in the center. Would a 20g skein be enough for one of those blocks? I've discovered that I'm not a crocheter but a knitted blanket might be possible.
We are in the process of planning a trip to the UK in September, Rochester is on our list as we saw Dicken's London home last year. I wouldn't have known about Rochester if not for your vlogs! Thank you!!!
