Here's Anker's official response the issue raised in this video.
I'll update you guys when I receive the replacement unit to let you know whether it still has savage audio hiss or not. Some people report that the overall volume of the earbuds have been dropped in replacement units in an effort to reduce audio hiss, so I'll be reporting back on that too. There's also reports that the hiss is still present, but slightly improved on replacement units too. Here's what they said, (read below their e-mail for my thoughts):
    - ANKER'S RESPONSE -
    "Dear Mark,
We are aware of a minor batch issue affecting less than 1% of customers who have purchased Liberty 2 Pro. The issue itself regards abnormal levels of “background noise”. Please rest assured, the issue has been rectified and for the minute number of customers that have been affected, we will obviously honor the Soundcore 18-month warranty and arrange an exchange if your headphone is not the newest version.
For the warranty issues, please first provide the following information:
    - A screenshot or pdf of the invoice confirming the order number from the item's purchase (or a picture of the receipt if it was bought from the store)
    - The SN#, printed on the USB-C charging cap as the attachment shows (looks something like "SN: AC3ETM0826502043"). If you can't find the SN, a photo of the product with the Soundcore logo showing will suffice instead.
    - Your current shipping address.
    Apologies again for the inconvenience."
    - MY THOUGHTS -
So there you go - audio hiss is confirmed by Anker be present in *apparently*, less than 1% of all units of the Liberty 2 Pro.
But if that's true, how come that when I bought the Soundcore Liberty 2 (non-pro version) to review, they also have brutal audio hiss as well? With a less than 1% chance of getting a unit with audio hiss and having bought these two products months apart, what are the odds of that happening? Seriously?
If you didn't get a unit with audio hiss, then great! But as someone who reviews products that people might actually go on to buy with their own hard-earned cash, I can't recommend products with a reasonable chance of being defective. And from my experience with two separate models, having read tons of reviews and had responses from you guys, it seems like a lot more than a 1% chance.
If you guys would like me to make a follow-up video when I receive the replacement unit then feel free to let me know. Happy new year!

Hi, I also went through three of the Soundcore Liberty Pro 2 (two were replacements) and they all had the hissing noise. I wasn't able to listen to music at lower volumes due to this so I sent them all back. This the email response I received:
      Anker's RESPONSE:
"According to the serial number provided, we notice that the unit you have is indeed our newest version. Due to the limitation of the current Qualcomm platform, the noise cannot be solved completely at this moment. Our team has also tried hard to balance the volume and sound quality for this newest version. Surely we will keep working for the improvement, and we will keep you posted if we have a newer version available. Would that be acceptable? Or we are more than glad to assist you with a refund right away.
      ".

@@Viewer13128 I received this response on December 23rd, 2019. I am not sure if this was the 2nd or 3rd version but I do know I went through three of them and with one of the replacements coming directly from Anker themselves. Also, oh man if the hissing noise gets fixed, I'm buying these again lol. Best sounding wireless earbuds for $150 in my opinion. It would be even more amazing if they had active noise canceling.

I'm so glad I didn't listen to you and took most other reviewers recommendations and purchased 2 pairs of these, no audio hiss at all, great sound better than airpod Pro and a lot of over ear headsets these are punching way way above its price point easily the best wireless ear buds on the market. And believe me I've tried a lot and tried to actually get this hiss you mentioned on every volume setting and equaliser setting and the hiss is not there. Here’s my take, best value for the money and best sound. I have bought every ear bud combination out there and the sound on the ankers are amazingly true. Highs to mid ranges are excellent, but what really caught my ear was the right bass. It’s important you fit the buds correctly for sound, to lose and your sound dissipates, to tight and your ear buds will be uncomfortable. Took about 40 minutes working the combination before my fit was perfect. Had these for 13 months and love them. No hiss what’s so ever on my pair. I am using an iPhone 12 Pro and 10r... I will admit the microphone is t the best, calls are okay, but I bought my buds for music not phone calls.

I have had no issues with these, no hiss on my pair. I personally think these are the best sounding pair of all that I’ve tested. I’ve tested the 1More Stylish, which are my backup pair, the Sony MX1000, the Jabra 75T. Both the Sony’s and Jabra were returned in favor of these. I love the app that lets me tune these have ever I want. I was able to pick these up with a coupon code that gave me 30% off at Christmas, so compared to the price of the Sony and Jabra’s, I’m smiling. I like the physical buttons on the back, this allows me to avoid tapping the earbud further into my ear. My wish for these is the addition of ANC and pass through in a future version.

    1. Size. It's about the same as Sony WF-1000XM3 and definitely smaller than Bose Sound Sport Free so no, it's not really that big.
    2. Touch Control. It's personal preference. You said you can't justify this price point without touch control but there are lots of people who prefer actual button due to more accuracy. Not to mention the L2P button is easier to press than Bose SSF and I've always had problems with the XM3 touch control even though that thing costs me $230+tax ($250 total).
    3. The hiss. When I first bought the L2P a month ago, I spent 3 days looking for the hiss while listening to music and watching movies but couldn't find any. However, I found a little hiss hear and there with some applications later on. First, the GPS. it has a little hiss for a split second before the notification. The hiss was loud enough to suppress the first word of the notification. For example, if the GPS told me "Turn left on 1th Street", I wouldn't hear the word "Turn" at all because of the hiss. This might be annoying if you're using GPS all the times but it's not a deal breaker for me. Second, I found the hiss during a messenger calls. It happened when I used Facebook messenger to call someone overseas. However, this seems to be a random problem because it doesn't happen every time that I made a call unlike on the GPS. One thing though, when I used the same app to call someone domestically, there's no hiss at all. Again, not a deal breaker. Third, I can hear the hiss when I scroll down Facebook app with the sound on within the app. These are the three cases that I found the hiss. Other than that, my L2P doesn't have any hiss at all.
    4. The sound. I have so many pairs of tws including Bose Sound Sport Free, B&O E8 2.0 and Sony WF-1000XM3. I can confirm that the L2P is not inferior to those at all. In fact, I just compare sound quality of the L2P and my old Shure SE315 side by side and believe it or not, I prefer the L2P sound better because it has more clarity in mid and high while the SE315 (which I haven't pick it up may be over 2 years) sounds a lot warmer. Anyway, sound quality is very subjective so it's hard to convince people how great this thing sounds unless they could hear it for themselves. But before anyone judges the L2P for sound quality, please try out the HearID first. It's certainly makes a difference.

I'm not sure what device your streaming with but I don't have any hiss from my iPhone 11 at all. The sound is absolutely fantastic from low volume to maxed out. They are large but as you state very comfortable as well. I have tried the Sony 1000 noise cancelling headphones, in comparison almost 3 times as much money and returned them. Just as large sound was fine but not very loud at all. Same with the Klipsch T5 good sound if lacking a good bass response but constantly fell out and poor ear seal for twice the price. My Jaybird vistas are a comparable set of earbuds for sound and fit. Battery life isn't as good as the Soundcores though. I have held back from buying these headphones for months now because of the various reports on the audio hiss. A couple of days ago I decided to take the plunge and I bought them. They sound absolutely awesome. To be honest I haven't heard anything this good for ages. The sound feels like it's coming from inside your head, not from your ears. the bass hits hard and fast down to the lowest of sub-bass frequencies. The mids are well defined and natural and the highs are crisp, defined and delicate without ever being too harsh. Soundstage and dynamic range are exceptional too.

I had the sony WF-1000xm3 (lost them) and also have the wh-1000xm3. Ive been telling everyone for a year now that the wh-1000xm3 has been the best purchase I have made in a long time (still is but the liberty 2 pros might have topped them). I like the earbuds for when I ride my scooter so I needed to buy a new pair after loosing the sony wh-1000xm3s. I purchased the liberty 2 pros a couple months ago and let me tell you sound quality wise they blow the wf-1000xm3s away. Honestly I prefer the sound of the liberty 2 pros over the wh-1000xm3s. I honestly cant handle how good these things sound. I am in love with the bass on these things. You can make them sound unreal using the custom EQ in the app. I have no hiss whatsoever. I have connected them to my pixel 4, galaxy s10, and computer and have had no hiss whatsoever. If I did get the hiss I would return them and get another pair because these things blow everything away. Also, for wireless buds these things get LOUD! Who would expect from a company like Anker.....Just a great great great product and wish this guy would have returned his for a non defective model. It's a damn shame.

These ear buds are very good for the right application - even with hiss. They fit so well, are super comfortable and sound great at volume. I prefer the buttons over the unreliable touch. Due to the hiss I couldn't recommend these for listening at low volumes - but for music - while out and about - I have decided to keep them anyways. The sound isolation is very good (I have used these around power tools as hearing protection in a pinch). The microphones aren't a high priority for my use case but I have found that turning OFF one of the buds completely (hold the button for 5 seconds) and you end up with excellent microphone performance - if not a little bit too sensitive. When used in stereo mode - the microphone sounds poor as the noise cancellation is too aggressive and sounds muted and over processed (the noise cancellation is the reason why you can't separate the buds as they require that both sets of microphones can hear the sound source (your voice) to determine if it is noise or not). PS... a Custom EQ CAN be setup and saved as presets (as tested on my Galaxy S10e running Android 10).

What's funny is I recently had a pair of simple Liberty 2's, and they had a tiny bit of hiss. Don’t get me wrong, I agree with you that the buds look reminiscent of the older, bullet style Bluetooth earbuds of the early-mid 2000s.
That said, they’re not THAT big dude. They’re similar in size to the coveted Sony noise cancelling earbuds. For sound quality and battery life alone, these are a steal.

Haha, I definitely don't miss those bluetooth headsets! Of course I'm not saying that these are literally the *biggest* wireless earbuds in existence, but if you compare them to 90% of ANY true wireless earbuds, the L2Ps will always be larger in size by a reasonable margin. Yes, agreed - they are definitely comparable in size to the Sonys. And if you can't call the L2Ps/Sony's huge - being literally two of the biggest wireless earbuds out there - I feel like you're not allowed to call anything big! Hope that makes sense.

mrkwd - tech guy The only thing is you called them unnecessarily big but you have to realize that having two different speakers in that small of a package requires it. Now the Liberty 2s are too big because of the lack of tech. But the size of the Pros is certainly necessary.

I feel the same as you. Noticeable hiss at that price is not acceptable. I listen to lots of genres, rock, hip hop and metal it would be fine playing loud but listening to a jazz or blues album quietly would be not good. I've tried a couple of Soundcore headphones recently (Q10 and Liberty 2) and they dont come anywhere close to my LGG7 with quaddac and a good wired headphone. With these liberty 2 Pro I wish they would have went for AptxHD to have a little more bitrate and less noise to over standard Aptx. I have the Soundcore motion + Bluetooth speaker and after playing with the custom EQ I love it. Too bad they cant get the headphones as good as their high-end BT speakers. Sadly a high percentage of people are rating all the Anker Soundcore headphones really high and the have nothing to compare to or listen to loud fast pace music all the time I would guess. Amazon reviews are the last place anyone should look for audio quality. I've been burned many many times with audio products that are just awful sounding.

@mrkwd - tech guy I don't understand the super nasty comments. People don't realize that your affiliate links actually provide a disincentive for you to randomly bash a product. Personally, I'm happy to see reviews that honestly critique products. Some reviewers praise everything they test. THOSE are the ones that lose credibility. Your review was accurate last December - when the hiss was quite common (1%? No way). I believe Anker has since fixed the issue via the app updates, judging from Amazon reviews. I can almost tell WHEN the review was left by whether they mention the hiss. Apparently, the same is true for the mic quality. One nitpicky note about the review though: the buds are large because there's more inside them, like dual drivers and a large battery. Cheers, mate!

Very subjective on the hiss... I think it depends what device you are pairing to. I have a Sony L4 and an iPad 3rd Gen. I find that both have hiss. However, the hiss during audio playing is NILL on my Sony phone. Yet the iPad continues the hiss badly through audio and I also find the app doesn’t define the sound and detail of the equaliser settings on the iPad as opposed to my Sony phone which does a superior job. So I think the hiss has more to do with the device than the earphones. I agree however that it certainly shouldn’t be so prominent in this day and age.

I will say that the Raycons are by far the most comfortable earbuds I've ever experienced, but they are utter garbage in sound quality compared to the Liberty 2 pros. I have Soundcore Life Q35, and it has an inconsistent hiss when ANC is on (like someone is mildly blowing air), and it appears only in one ear. I have it changed three times, but all these three pairs have the same problem. If you google it, Sony has this issue and BOSE has it too, but when I gave Soundcore the feedback, they said they've never heard anyone complain about it although right in the product review section you literally see some saying there's a hiss when ANC is on. So I'm very disappointed by their reply. That is also why I skipped Soundcore altogether when I was choosing a smaller pair of ANC earbuds.

Its actually refreshing to see the opposite instead of the constant positive feedback that is on Amazon. It truly goes to show that everyone DOES have different hearing and taste. Nonetheless, atleast you can return them. Its hard to expect anything else outside of the liberty 2 Pro headphones since those are so damn awesome. I like different earbuds for different sounds and so I like the Rimor earbuds for that vocal clarity. The mids and highs are great. Hoping you did infact get the Rimor earbuds lol. To add tho. I did buy different silicone rubber ear tips from a different manufacturer that are made with a different slightly more rigid rubber. To me the rubber tips that come with the RIMOR earbuds are TOO soft. They crumble in my ear so they don't create that good a seal. Before returning them, try taking some of the extra earbud tips your soundcore liberty buds came with and swap them for the stock Rimor tips. Then see how that works.

Thanks for sharing your experience Douglas. I agree that if you can look past the hiss, there's not a lot else to complain about. I'm just struggling to get to that point myself at the mo!

love how 99 out of 100 people review them and say the are worth every penny they spent on them and one reviewer( this guy ) says dont. sad thing most will believe him lmao. These are awesome earbuds period. just because one or two people say dont buy them they are probably not telling you that they are deaf in one ear and shouldnt be reviewing earbuds anyway but i digress.

Nobody is saying the hissing isn't a real thing I just actually believe it is in a very small number of them, because 4 for 4 on my end plus the 2 my sister got and 5 more among friends!! Not one problem of hissing or any complaints at all!

I went back an listened to the sound examples on your video, after you mentioned the audible hiss. I did not hear the hiss on those examples.
