I recently upgraded to the Quest 3. Today I picked up Red Matter 2 for $10. Haven't played the first one. Probably will soon since it's on Quest+ and I 3 months trial from my purchase. Got to say the PCVR looks absolutely stunning. But the Quest 3 isn't too far behind. Of course watching it on youtube doesn't do VR justice so I'm eager to see how the game actually looks in person. Great comparison video. If I like the game enough on my Quest, I'll contemplate purchasing on Steam. Those dynamic shadows and extra lighting are 🤌

This is absolutely one of those game that looks better in headset than on video. Games that are heavily skewed towards environments and not living things tend to be that way.
Hard to get a sense of the scale and depth from a video, but a lot of people never know these updates have happened, so I try to showcase them.

I just beat this one for the first time on PCVR, PSVR2 a week ago. Great game, enjoyed the ending. Looking forward to playing the second one.

I think you're going to love Red Matter 2. It takes everything from the first game and does it better.

Not bad but... Still can't do lights properly (obviously). So PCVR is the way to go if you want a good immersion!

Yep and I said at much at the end of the video. I thought the Red Matter 2 update was better than this one, but the shadow work does help quite a bit. Shading and contrast wasn't as good here as RM2.
Everyone knows a chip the size of a quarter is not going to equal a GPU the length of my forearm, so expecting Quest 3 to exactly match PCVR isn't going to happen, but I said over a year ago that the gap is closing.
For a $500 headset by itself vs my $1,500 rig, it's pretty impressive.
