FUN FACT: In this episode Striker is voiced by Edward Bosco, the same person who voiced Alastor in the Hazbin Hotel pilot
I'll admit I had mixed feelings about Norman not voicing him again, but Edward does a great job and I do still like the character himself

Both scary and cool sounding all the same.
Blitzø's "He can get hurt?" line really hit me right in the feels. His facial expression and tone of voice just shows how surprised he is that a demon so high up in the hierarchy could get that injured, and possibly suggests that he really does care for Stolas, even if he's terrible at showing it. And the scene right after? I've never gotten so emotional from a text message chain before.
Same here. The emotions in this show was there and it went further with the direct debut of angelic tainted weaponry, something that does serious damage to demons like stolas since those type of weaponry are the only ones that can actually hurt them.
Well what could Blitz say? Stolas hurt cause of his choice of sending M&M and Lona needed the shot.
@@aliciabrock3536 I get that, but the point of the term "hurt" is that blitz never seen him physically hurt before so it was the very 1st time for him to experience that. Emotionally hurt yes, but never physically hurt and this episode showed that part of emotion from blitz for the very 1st time.

Actually a24 is known for letting creators have full creative control. Viv chose to recast the characters. In a pilot nothing is set in stone,this includes,story,character designs and especially the va's. Plus there is a good chance,ed Bosco and mick lauer,who played alastor and husk respectively,are reprising their respective roles,mostly because in both their Twitter bios they still list playing both their respective roles,plus ed likes a shit ton of alastor related tweets which is enough to make me suspicious
There was speculation that the recasts had to do with contracts and the voice actors guild as well. Sometimes things just don’t work out after adding big business to the mix. From what I know, Michael even contributed to telling people to trust Viv when it came to the recasts so he must know that, even though the role isn’t his anymore, it’s still going to someone capable of the same energy for Angel.

It's weird going back now, knowing the VAs were changed cause Vivziepop wanted Broadway talent. All the speculation.
Stella does'nt care about the Titel and Influence beeing handed to Octavia, becouse she would still be the Mother of a Ruler.(Like an Empress Dowager)
But her Brother wants to inherit Stolas Influence.

We haven’t really had any indication going either way on if Octavia likes her mother or not so perhaps Andrealphus either knows Octavia dislikes Stella or is trying to hedge his bets so he doesn’t become stuck with Stella should their relationship deteriorate, perhaps still having a feeling of familial responsibility.

I feel ya on that. I went to the ER for intense pain from an abscessed tooth. I had thought something had gotten in my ear, because that's where it hurt most. There was an elderly man in the waiting room, blood pouring from his head. His wife was holding a towel up to his head, trying to stanch the wound. I got in before him and expressed my concern about him to my mom the whole time I was waiting, wondering why he wasn't being taken back there yet.
honestly head wounds bleed a lot no matter how minor or serious they are so his head wound probably wasnt that serious or he would have been taken care of immediately, probably just needed a few stitches.

“Heard bad things about Hazbin” the only thing you heard is that some pilot VAs we’re not brought back for their roles which ISNT SURPRISING. Micheal did NOT shape the character, Viv did. All he did was give his voice and even then it wasn’t her fault fans would go rabbid over him. She isn’t getting BIG name actors for Hazbin either, she IS however getting Broadway VAs because…..well Hazbin is a musical. Micheal and everyone else was informed that they wouldn’t return but they were already given their paid dues for the pilot. Hazbin will be just fine, Hazbin doesn’t belong to HBO-Max. Hazbin both belongs to Viv and A24 (the ones who helped fund Hazbin) nor is Viv a sell out, Hazbin was ALWAYS gonna need funding from some company in order for her to be able to tell its story.
Keep in mind that if it was Vivs plan to not bring back most of the Hazbin pilot VAs is because she probably wanted someone who has a certain accent, can speak two languages for said character or the one I already stated, has the singing voice. (ESPECIALLY for Angel Dust)
Just wanted to inform you since it just seemed like you went straight for the blame game when Viv knows what her characters need VA wise because while I’m sure she LOVED Micheals voice, she probably found someone more suited for it. (and she’s allowed to change her mind)
I wouldn’t 100% trust what most fans say, especially since they love to demonize Viv and the decisions she makes for Hazbin. (Not saying she’s some holy Angel either but shitting on her because she didn’t decide to bring most of the pilot VAs back? Is very petty and childish. It’s been 3 years, give it a rest.
Was it said which voice actors weren't returning for hazbin? Or can we just assume practically all of em won't be returning?
@BlueGemGamer Personally for me, I think they were all recasted BUT some people think that three of the pilot VAs such as Edward Bosco, Monica Franco, and Mick Lauer never said in a tweet that they won't be voicing in the series.......that fans think that they'll still be voicing those characters in the show--- but who knows tbh.
I think it was mentioned in passing somewhere that Norman couldnt return due to scheduling. Granted I have no idea for sure, I dont really ask Ed about his VA work.
You shouldn't think of Stolas as a bad husband because he was forced to that marriage as same as Stella, and endured all the bad treatment she gave her for years to protect his daughter's daily life, even if that hurted him. Neither of them ever had a real husband and wife relationship or a happy marriage, so the situation is different.
i think the reason blitz cringed when the receptionist kept saying the "O" in his name is cause its kinda like him being deadnamed by someone. he abandoned the "O" a long time ago so it might be similar
Im happy that this episode shows that Moxie has gotten much better at hand to hand, since season 1 where he was reliabt soley on guns. We see it in action wih the fight at the gas station and it is what saves him against Strider
It really sucks that Gus from Diregentleman hates the show because of the Helluva Boss fandom. His most recent video on Helluva Boss was around 50-70% complaining that "Helluva Boss fans can't accept criticism of the show." Because Helluva Boss fans rightfully called him out for accusing them of being racist towards Italians.

There was a lot of small details that showed growth with all the characters. Reading the text messages between Blitz and Stolas really broke my heart, cause I saw myself in Stolas's responses. Always offering, willing to be left out, if only it meant to still have him. I will say though, I saw discussions on this episode that made me think. Blitz has always showed himself to be aloof, but when he found out Stolas got hurt he actually showed it affected him. He showed worry. But even more so, he didn't have to send a text saying get better soon. It looked more like Stolas was always the one reaching out first. So Blitz reaching out showed he felt something. And the fact he was typing something, but then stopped and left it on read. People speculate Blitz wanted to say something kind or good, but could not think of anything he could say so he gave up. But the fact he considered it was a small but meaningful step. Stolas deserves better, but I hope that this was a positive step forward.

@@jordanhunter3375 Why would you think it would start a vocal row? That sounds like you've been thru an abusive relationship before. Stolas knows how much Blitz cares for his daughter. Choosing ones daughter over another makes sense. Its a sucky situation sure, but a child being first priority is understandable. On Blitz's side, he obviously was worried. When he first heard of the kidnapping he started rushing to the appointment. That gives hints he was probably thinking rush to Stolas as soon as he was done with Luna. When Moxxie and Millie offered to go he looked them in the eye before choosing to trust them to go in his stead. All this with him also thinking Stolas could not really get hurt, since when he saw Stolas going into the hospital it showed how shocked he was. Things he could of said: 1)possibly apologize he couldnt do more, but Luna comes first. 2) Talk about how pissed he is at Striker and maybe talk about wanting to go after him. 3) on a gentler note, possibly offer to visit next day or so. The first one would be a start to communication, showing he was concerned but stuck to his priorities. Stolas being a Dad would understand, and may even ask about Luna, continuing the conversation. The second one would show how upset Blitz was, which would make Stolas know he actually does care. Third would be a dream for Stolas, some bonding to help in the healing. Even if no convo is haved over their relationship, the closeness would make him happy. Considering all his texts it would mean the world to him. He doesn't show at all that he would try and fight, or even be upset with Blitz.

Viv didn't intend to fire the voice actors for "bigger names", A24 gave her a lot of freedom in her project (Hazbin hotel) even then, copy right issues and bull crap like that (presumably) is the reason why they got fired. She had zero control over that. Besides the hazbin hotel drama, this episode is one of my new favorites. It has its flaws like being a shorter episode but it's a great addition to S2. S2 started of bad in my opinion but I think it's just getting better!
The B plot was just wasn't needed this ep tbh. It interjecting into the Stryker fight ruined the entire flow of it on top of it taking away showtime for the main plot of the ep.
@MrRippydo not really, the B plot shoes how little Imps and hellhounds are put as a priority and how even other hellborns see them as nothing more than less plus having to wait 5 Yeats us literal hell. While Stolas (who granted, was stabbed three times and is a royal) is still regarded more. It's nice world building.
@@0Magicallywild0 Yes, but this is already established with what we know of the world already. This episode would be better if the B plot was not in the ep, or kept to minimum. The A plot would be better for it. The main fight this ep wouldn't be cut off, and Blitzo's and Stolas's relationship could be explored more though spoken dialog rather than some text mssgs shown on the screen for half of a second. Plus we have soooo many dangling story threads its insane. Hell(pun intended), the B plot could've explored one of those dangling threads lightly. This just wasn't a good B plot.
Good B plots explore more of the story, then tie into the overall plot at some point.
It's weird coming back to this and seeing all the excuses. Vivzie did want a Broadway cast and as soon as she got the chance to get that, she took it.
I don't think Striker is half-snake. I think he's a half-shark/half-imp hybrid. Remember how Blitzo's ex looked like in last episode? They have the same eyes. And it's already been confirmed that Striker is a hybrid.

the assessment of casualties based on the severity of the injury is called triage.

If you never cared for any of the characters, you would never get that “oh sh*t don’t die” feeling when Stolas started to get tortured.
The text chain at the end hit me, I an in a long distance relationship and my partner is not as expressive as I am, but I know he cares and he shows it in his own way. I saw that here, Blitzo cares, I mean theres no way he couldn't care for Stolas after being with him for so long and sleeping with him lol, he just doesn't like to openly show that. Still though, Stolas is in THE HOSPITAL, and Blitzo you better get your butt over there right now!!!
The way I see it, two things here are obvious: A, that whatever Andrealphus has planned involves harming Ocitavia, and B, that under no circumstances can he be allowed to see it through.

Just realized this is the second episode in a row Loona doesn't have any speaking lines. I want to chalk it up to simply scheduling difficulties or creative choice, but a part of me can't stop wondering if there has been a recent fallout between Viziepop/SpindleHorse and the VA, Erica Lindenbeck.

As someone who recently re-read the instagram lore of Helluva Boss.I'm yet waiting for moar interactions between the hell of a pc couple, so sorta kinda hope to see Blitz actualy acknowledging the fact that Stolas does care and that he may be more in touch with his feels than himself.
Still, that just means if they get to kill or just harm Stolas real bad i'll tear up and consolate myself by watching family guy funny moments
I heard there was two reasons both of which were legal reasons for why Finale Pt 2 had to be pulled; first one was something about the music, like it wasn’t cleared or something, the other being that it was a sort of crossover (but not really) with Hazbin Hotel. Like I think some of the characters were in it. To add to that I heard that Viv and company got sh-t for having that dude that Angel Dust flirts with in Episode 3.

That's not far off. A lot of people start shit over the smallest things imaginable. Even saw in the news a guy got shot because he ate the last hot pocket. Like wtf? Also yeah shorter guys get targeted a lot for fights because, well, we are shorter then them. Only 5'4" and have been called out to fight close to a dozen times now. Gets really annoying after a while.
I'm also thrilled you saw fit to mention Saw II. Heh, no pun intended.
Noticed Lindbeck didn't have any lines in this or the last episode. Last time was kinda funny, as her silent reaction to them leaving/returning with the helicopter is comical.
But considering she was a pretty central focus of the B Plot here, her lack or dialogue is a lot more noticeable.
I mean, they're clearly leaning into the "pet to vet" humor, but it still feels a bit weird...
Not the strongest episode, but to be fair, the last one was pretty tough to follow.
I think Loona’s voice actor’s fiancé died back in June 2022. Maybe the voice lines of these last two episodes were recorded around then?
The voices of the episodes were recorded *way* in advance before they even start animating them, during the time period the recording for the last episode and this one happened, The VA of loona lost her Fiance to Cancer, and took a grieving period for a while during it.
I actually knew how this was possibly gonna go but not completely how I did, thought Stolas was gonna be taken to Stella and for brainwashing & whipping or physical torture to be put in place.
nah stella is too "blue blood" to do her own dirty work, she'd rather pay someone a fortune to have them do her dirty work for her
