    That big hammer made short work of forging the handle. I appreciate it when you go in depth about metallurgy. Your channel has shown me its importance and that it is worth researching. Great work as always!

    Most good Parang do have atleast some distal taper in blade and tang though as it helps in snap cutting and chopping as well by increasing speed of the blade in use :)

    Instead of 150lbs of chain around your anvil, have you tried Jason knights trick? Sitting your anvil and anvil mount in a puddle of silicone, I recent did this and my anvil is very quiet. I'll get back to watching your video now.

    • @FireCreekForge
      @FireCreekForge  3 роки тому

      No, I haven't, but I do like having my anvil spiked down solid to the stump, it seems to provide better mass/ rebound, as my larger anvil that isn't solid to the stump doesn't have the same rebound

      @@FireCreekForge gotcha. I was surprised at how dead it makes my anvil. The only ringing or noise that you get may be on the horn but usual use is very quiet. Great work though brother. I appreciate the content

    Isn't that phenolic block you used for the handle? Be careful with the dust mate we used that shit on aircraft and we were supposed to use a respirator when drilling through or sanding it.
