We have had a chance to feature the extended wheelbase version of the Cadillac Escalade, but finally we've got one to try out. This week we're in the 2023 Cadillac Escalade ESV Sport Platinum 4WD, the highest trim you can get before going with the V-Series model. James goes over the exterior design and features on this vehicle along with the 6.2L EcoTec3 V8 engine that powers it.
We then jump inside to see what this full-size luxury SUV has to offer including the 36-speaker AKG Studio Reference surround sound audio system, rear seat entertainment system, augmented reality display, and more.
James then takes this 2023 Cadillac Escalade ESV on a road test to see how the extra length feels on the road along with his impressions on the ride, drive, and handling of this SUV. He discusses how Super Cruise on the Escalade differs from other GM vehicles, and why you'd want to option this. He then wraps up with his final thoughts on this SUV.

I miss driving the Escalade already!
I know that feeling all too well!
Love the B roll run in reverse at 18:50. Had to watch it back to see the cars in the background going backwards. Fun Easter egg.
Nice catch on that!
It’s clear why this vehicle is the segment leader. Wow! 🔥
Can't beat it!
Love it that you started with the price.Genius!
We always start off with price so you know what we've got.

Is it reliable if someone decides to hyper mile with this thing?
200,000 miles I believe it capps
I don't think that word means what you think it means.
what ftrs can i add to it ? and what's the ceiling price-wise for this ?
An Escalade-V can get up to about $189,000 CAD.
Very nice. But how is the reliability?
Like any luxury vehicle, especially a flagship luxury vehicle, there's plenty that could go wrong. The 6.2L V8 engine so far has been pretty solid overall as GM's been making it for a while now. Cadillac offers a very competitive 4 year, 80,000 km new vehicle warranty, but better than that all new Cadillac come with 4 years of scheduled maintenance included, so your new Escalade won't cost you anything for oil changes and other service during those first 4 years.
@@PRNTestDrive wow that's a great deal with the 4 years of scheduled maintenance being covered! Is the 3.0L Duramax as reliable as the 6.2L? I am going to see them tomorrow.
Have to love that higher resolution OLED in a car... You just know that the burn in is really gonna help the resell value.
It’s almost if Cadillac didn’t think about that to implement something to mitigate burn while developing the display with LG whom are very aware of burn-in and how to mitigate it.
It’s always the haters fantasizing about things going wrong in vehicles they probably can’t afford. 🤷🏾♂️
@@G-Rated yes you can mitigate it. But physics is a thing. I'm not hating, just being realistic. Please note that I am European, we value cars that last more than 10 years holding all their features. I guess this works in the US market. But don't expect those screens to last more than 5years without burnin.
@@Antoshka91d they realistically mitigated burn-in as well. There’s several articles on it out. Go read up and educate yourself.
We'll see how it is long term, but outside of some of the very first LCD screens in cars we haven't seen any serious issues with in-car infotainment.
How about those tvs in the back? Can watch UA-cam in them?
You'd need a device to connect to it, we did a video on the previous generation Escalade and CT6 showing how you could connect a device like a Roku or Firestick to it and stream content via the 4G LTE OnStar data connection.
Just making sure you know a Yukon can be had in a long wheelbase version Just like the ESV. It's called the Yukon XL
Yes
Is this the Galactic grey color?
This one was Black Raven.
The tail lights make it look like a hearse. And they clash with the horizonal theme in the front
haha great now i won't be able to unsee that!
That doesn’t even make sense. How does the rear clash with a side of the vehicle you can’t even see from the rear. There are also massive vertical OLED drl’s in the front that match the rear’s OLED taillights. Y’all will say anything on UA-cam. 🤡
Fair enough!
Move over Rolls Royce 🫡🇺🇸
Easily!
I still like the Rolls-Royce, the RR sedan is great, the Phantom.
@@Aegar_Targaryen the phantom is for luxury and calm, not for a lot of space and harsh travels, why would you put a 600 thousand car thru what you would put an escalade thru ? people might disgaree with me but ,that's just some crazy ass shit to do
Glorified suburban. The navigators way more classy and nice
navigator is a glorified expedition.... Idc I just had to say
@@codyhardy3553no you’re right, these Ford fanboys are absolutely triggered at the sight of an Escalade. They literally clicked on this review just to TROLL. 😂
Both are glorified versions of their mainstream counterparts.
