An intriguing interpretation from Ms. Schuhmacher, who proves that the sonorities of the organ enhance the grotesque beauty of "Danse Macabre." It's also fun to see the mechanical action of the couplers (like ghost hands playing) on the upper manuals, as well as the motions of his page-turning, piston, pulling assistant.
You were just fabulous - you were born to play this piece - it gets under your skin so that it feels as if we are one with the organist as he plays...wonderful thank you.
There's macabre...... and there's Macabre... music... and lightening... and... etc., etc. I love dark tones and rhythms.... and as a composer, I delight in them. It's now your interpretation. Yours. Thanks for sharing.
Well, young Sir, We anxiously await the posting of your sortees into transcriptions or performing the French Classics of Franck and Widor, Guillant, Boellman and others... I think everyone is waiting for the answer - Who is your registrant?? Nicely done.
392Hz? Wow, that's really low. I've once played an organ which was tuned at 415Hz. The sounded kinda weird to me for a second, as I have absolute pitch hearing. It took some getting used to. :)
534DaHill Just for interest: The exact pitch of the organ will vary with temperature, anyway. It may be aiming for A 392, but what it is on any particular day will depend on the weather and the heating system - if the building has one!
Serious talent and a wonderful performance. Still, I can't help wondering what the reluctance is to embrace modern technology and put electric stop action on this wonderful-sounding organ and so many others esp in Northern Europe. Seriously, stop knobs BEHIND the organist? How useless is that?. The stop-puller did an admirable job, but organists really shouldn't have to go to such lengths in 2015. The organ is a solo instrument after all! The young organists of today are such a breath of fresh air after a generation of "all-toe-pedalling" and "one registration throughout" approach that bores us all. Bravo to the next generation.

HATE IT! I mean, that I can't play like this. Fantastic!
assoluto!
This organ is not tuned at 440, is it?
Nice performance anyway!
Effectivement, l'orgue est accordé à 392 Hz.

Buen oído. Efectivamente está en casi medio tono bajo
genius
