@newFranzFerencLiszt This Howard's video is very popular (on my level) and I like this interperetation, but in other hand Howard (himself) is ambivalent for me. Yes I have got Howard's complete Liszt-recordings. Unfortunatelly, I don't know Andaloro. :o(
"lol"? "as always"? you are entitled to your opinion, but why laugh at the organ? the work is a tone poem for orchestra, not solo piano. of course, a skilled pianist can perform a reduction of the score, but, in the end, the result is contained within the "monophonic" voice of the piano. the organ has "resources" that enable it to attempt the mood and color changes associated with an orchestra. a skilled organist can use these resources to create a performance worthy of the same respect as any pianist. the piano and organ are two, very different instruments and should not be compared solely because they both have keyboards.
Have you ever listened to the version for violin and piano? Or to the version for orchestra? If not please give it a try, I can highly recommend that! ;-)
Truly the king of Instruments.
Saint-Saens would surely approve of this beautiful arrangement by the great Edwin Lemare and this exceptional performance.
Love this, the pipe organ is the perfect instrument to express it
A masterful performance of a wonderful piece. I enjoyed it tremendously.
The only place on the internet where I can find sanity.
Also the theme from 'Le Carnival des Animaux XII: Fossiles', no? I love how Saint-Saens satirises his own work.
A wonderful performance.
It is like some kind of deranged fair ride!
Niceeee
sehr schön

The reeds are a bit raucous, but not in a bad way.
I would rethink the stop registrations in the middle...
I want this partiture,, where I can find it???
IMSLP of course
If heard at carnival, run away.
On what organ was this performed?
It's the Estadella 1927/Lhote 1974 organ at the Bascilica de Santa Maria de Mataro.
The bottom link in the description goes to the original video.
Not crazy about the registration but nicely played.
Sounds like it was played from a Duo-Art organ roll on an Aeolian organ.
tnsnamesoralong > please, where's my ORACLE SID ? :) lol
