Diamond Dogs make me feel guilty, Im a Mick Ronson FANATIC...and DDs is my favorite Bowie record...Ronno does not play guitar on this record, Bowie handles all guitars.., .Bowies neanderthal apocalyptic approach actually make this record work..I dont think Ronsons style would work here.
Great video, I've got Kiss'debut on CD, Deep Purple Burn and Stormbringer and David Bowie's Diamond Dogs all on vinyl. I enjoy many of the artists/bands you have mentioned, just haven't got the records.
Hard to believe these albums are 50 years old, even though this is way before my time....my favorites of the year is Hotter Than Hell and Get Your Wings

I was not expecting half a hundred albums from 1974 for this video like wow I thought I had over-estimated 2024 for anniversaries. About early Kiss their album KISS' Alive! was a big influence towards Bathory from what I know, not just covering Deuce but the last known recording from them was actually Black Diamond as well, I think the Alive versions are more energetic than Self-Titled.
Lots of great albums right? These 30 are my faves, and many others that I like are on your list. No particular order. ROCK Foghat - Energized Dryewater - Southpaw ABBA - Waterloo Grand Funk - Shinin' On Rush - Rush Thin Lizzy - Night Life Budgie - In for the Kill Deep Purple - Stormbringer Deep Purple - Burn Queen - Sheer Heart Attack Queen - Queen 2 Sweet - Fanny Adams Sweet - Desolation Boulevard Rolling Stones - Rock Roll Lynyrd Skynyrd - Second Helping PROG Yes - Relayer Genesis - Broadway Camel - Mirage FUNK Funkadelic - Getting It On Kool & Gang - Light of Worlds SOLO/PROJECT Todd Rundgren - Utopia Robin Trower - Bridge of Sights Mahogany Rush - Child of the Novely John Lennon - Walls & Bridges Joni Mitchell - Court & Spark Frank Zappa - Apostrophe Rick Wakeman - Center of the Earth BRAZILIAN Som Nosso de Cada Dia - Snegs Secos & Molhados - Secos & Molhados 2 Rita Lee - Atrás do Porto tem uma Cidade
What a great year! Thin Lizzy Nightlife an unusual album as it has lighter soul mixed in with heavy rock. Lamb Lies Down On Broadway can be a hard listen unless you have time to listen to the whole album - that’s when it becomes a masterpiece. Get Your Wings is my favorite Aerosmith album. To be honest, I don’t like Seven at all by Seger - not enough creativity with the Chuck Berry riffs. Rush is awesome as well as Kansas, Eagles On The Border, Skynyrd 2nd Helping, Bad Company, and ELO’s Eldorado. Crime of The Century is top notch Supertramp. Both KISS albums are great.

Same… so many classics from 74 that I don’t currently own but love. I didn’t realize how stacked this year was lol
This video is overflowing with information! This should be a series month by month. Love it! Great work.
Thanks! I definitely should think about making this a series, maybe starting month by month at the beginning of 2025.
Hard to believe these albums are 50 years old, even though this is way before my time....my favorites of the year is Hotter Than Hell and Get Your Wings
Great picks! Two classics for sure!
Wow. I lived these albums. I am so impressed with such insight from such a young guy.
Thanks! Super envious that you got to experience these albums in real time!
You have an old soul, young man.......very knowledgeable.
Thanks! 👍
Fun fact- Diamond Dogs and Its Only Rock n Roll, same cover artist , Guy Peellaert.
I didn’t know that. Talented guy!
I was curious if you were going to include Phenomenon by UFO! Fantastic album! Michael Schenker was so young! Just brilliant! Cheers, Johnny Z! 🤘🏼🍻
Some of Schenker's best work for sure. Phenomenon is a classic. Cheers man!
Great list, can get along with most of those albums. Of those you didn't mention my favourite would be Quo by Status Quo. One of their best.
Great choice! Even with 50, there are still a lot of great albums from 74 that I didn’t mention. What an awesome year!
The Elder, me, turns fifty on January 8 along with Robbie Krieger and Elvis. The most holy of days. 🤣🤘
Haha Happy Birthday! At first I thought you were referencing the KISS album The Elder lol
@@TheCDGuyJZ thanks Johnny, 74 was a good year, last of the muscle cars, 2 kiss albums. Hotter than hell is probably my favorite. Strange Ways 🤣🤘

My favorite from 1974: Robin Trower- ‘Bridge of Sighs’
Even though it’s a lot of albums, this is giving me more albums to listen to to discover more artists, or to learn more about artists
Awesome! That’s the goal! Happy listening 🤘

Agreed. While not 100% live, KISS Alive captures the energy of the live set really well and the songs sound a lot better for sure.
Well done Padawan.
🙏🙏🙏

Great year for sure! Lamb Lies Down has to be listened to in it's entirety in order to fully enjoy it. The Seger album grew on me over time.
@@TheCDGuyJZI forgot about Robin Trower’s Bridge Of Sighs. That might be my number 1 for 1974.
Great pick!
