Thank you so much for posting this video .! Do you recommend pay to use transtar reprogramming kit (RAP).? they charge $200 , how much you think its ok to pay for reprogram a transmission or engine computer.? Thanks for your Time.!
Is there a way to figure out which solenoids go where using the solenoid strategy number? I totally screwed up and took out all the solenoids while cleaning the valve body and now don’t know which position each one goes into. Was going to install a zip kit as well so is it going to need to be recalibrated anyway after that?
if your talking about the solenoid body, yes it does, if installing a solenoid body, it will work without the program but sometimes may not shift correctly
Hi, I replaced the valve body of a Ford Escape 2013 1.6 AWD. but it keeps hitting in reverse it feels heavy when driving, do you think I have to take it to peogram the valve body I bought it directly from the ford tanks.
I'm sure you could but the band numbers represent the flow rate, if a different number is used, the flow rate of the solenoid will not be the same but there is a chance it may adapt
@@GaryFerraro Have you met with a issue that when i put Drive or Reverse something "hits" in the transmission and whole car moves. When on Reverse car drives normally and has power, but on Drive, car doesn't have power and it's kinda slipping and i order to move it i have to press gas pedal hard. Oil level is okey.
Hi Gary I have 2018 Ford Transit connect with 6f35 transmission. I had hard shifthing especially at low gears and reverse.I replaced the valve body with solenoids. Now vehicle doesn't move at all.Do you know if the unit needs to be reprogrammed or recalibrated. Thank you
Hi. I have 2010 ford fusion with the 6f35. Got 2 codes p0756 and p2701. Is it more likely the B solenoid or maybe a stuck valve... or maybe an internal failure. Any ideas.. thanx
@@GaryFerraro it would jerk when shifting gears and sometimes there would be a delay before shifting. Erased the codes but come rightbback. Took it for a drive this afternoon and ran smoothly. I'll drive it tomorrow maybe when its cold ill be able to duplicate the problem...
Hi. I took the car this morning for a test drive. Had no issues at all... Decided to remove the valve body today. Oil was pretty clean, found no metal shavings. When I opened the v/b, I could only see 2 beads.. the other one was stuck to the separator plate. And I was able to push the bead through. Pretty sure my problem is right there. I also removed and cleaned the valves, all is ok. The only thing I didnt do is taking out the solenoids, because im thinking the plate is the problem.
my 6f35 works good in reverse but in drive it lags and then goes fine then i lose power and drive then it kicks in to keep driving at 30mph, change fluid twice in one shot, any thoughts great video
So did it fix the problem? I have a 15 going haywire tripping a P0766. Hope this fixes it when i start checking ids and programming the new solenoid in. Thanks
Yes, it did fix it. But if it's throwing a code like that may have internal problem. I did the calibration because it really didn't feel right but nothing crazy. What is the trans doing?
@@GaryFerraro I just got it. It's fine when cold. Run for five minutes. Shifting starts slipping. Going from drive to reverse delay. Tripping a p0766. Cleaned all solenoids. Replacing solenoid d. Then checking the IDs and inputting new solenoid. Waiting on the solenoid to come in.
Any thoughts on what kind of failure this is on this 6f35 in a 2013 Escape? It will move when cold for a short distance. Not low on fluid. I am thinking oil pump and/or torque converter since the noise is present when not moving. ua-cam.com/video/BWIqDqpqpl0/v-deo.html
The problem is the filter is clogging up, probably converter is coming apart, I would also recommend changing out the cooler for the trans, i think it is a separate unit. Those can not be cleaned and can cause problems down the road
Gary Ferraro - thank you! Do you recommend a complete overhaul based on that? I pulled the fluid and minimal metal when I ran a magnet through it. No chunks of material either running through a paint strainer. It’s at 141k miles.
Gary Ferraro - thanks a lot! I agree, it’s out so might as well. I haven’t done an auto trans in a long time, so your video and comments were very helpful to making my decision to do it myself.
Thank you for sharing such beautiful training.
Thanks for watching
Good find hope it drives out Gary keep the video coming
Car drives good, customer came back with check engine light on but engine codes only, trans is solid
Great video. Can the solenoid marking be read without removing the 6f35 gearbox in Escape 2017?
Do you mean the solenoid characterization ?
@@GaryFerraro I mean the description from the part to know what code to enter when programming.
@@rufus1981pl yes, you can get that through a scan tool, but if your changing it, it will come with new codes to enter
@@GaryFerraro Thx Gary! The thing is that my gearbox works poorly when changing gears and I wanted to check if it has the correct codes programmed.

Is it 200 per program? Mobil programmers maybe cheaper

no, cannot go by that number, what year is this
It is a 2010 Ford Escape with 6F35 gen 1 and they are labeled AA3, AB2, AC2, CC5, DB5, CB5
So this causes eratic shift if you don’t update it
It may or may not,
Do these have to be reprogrammed even when they come from a Ford dealership

Hi, could you put a link from the Ford page, I can't find the right one
What are you looking for?
I want to know if I can see those number without take out the transmission?
The number on the case should match the number on the solenoid body, you can see the solenoid body with the side cover down
Can you change Solenoid Band number? For example my number was 3 and I want to change it to 2. Is is possible?
I'm sure you could but the band numbers represent the flow rate, if a different number is used, the flow rate of the solenoid will not be the same but there is a chance it may adapt

Which one is the manual valve?
Is it plunger looking thing that moves as you move the shifter

You need the J2534 pass-trough and that is from Ford's website, i bought time(2 days) and loaded the program

common on those for the forward piston to Debond or tear causing a long delay in drive
