So, I own a '21 Honda Accord Touring 2.0T, which I absolutely love, and my dad just bought a '25 Honda Accord Hybrid Touring. I've been able to drive his for a couple of hours in town and out on the road. Figured I would offer my opinions comparing and contrasting the 10th and 11th generation Accords from an owner's perspective. First let me say that when the 11th gen debuted in '23, I was less than impressed and very disappointed that Honda dropped the 2.0T option, which is a wonderful powerplant. I dismissed the 11th generation completely based on the demise of the 2.0T and the rather bland styling. After reading and watching numerous reviews on the 11th gen, I started to soften to its purpose but still lamented the fact that my beloved 2.0T was long gone. I constantly said that Honda should have nixed the 1.5T engine, offered the hybrid as their core engine option and retained the 2.0T for those of us who prefer a more powerful option. I still believe that but I digress. In spite of the fact the my car and my dad's are both Accords, it couldn't be clearer that they have two different missions and they both succeed at their intended missions. When I drive his car, I cannot deny that it is quieter, smoother, has better technology, is more comfortable, gets much better fuel economy and simply excels at being a very refined, borderline luxurious car. And dare I say it, it is a delight to drive. Objectively, it is better than my '21 in most every measurable dynamic. However, the one metric that it simply cannot compete with my '21 is in the performance/fun-to-drive category. Driving my '21 with that wonderful 2.0T engine coupled with Honda's great 10-speed automatic transmission can be downright thrilling at times. I know it's no real sports car but it tries its very best to mimic one and does a really good job at it. When I drive the '25, I appreciate all of the upgrades over my '21. It is a phenomenal highway cruiser and a great daily around town car for its price point. The big question I suppose is would I replace my 10th gen with an 11th gen. When I drive his car, I'm very impressed with it. Then I get back in mine and it feels truly special despite the fact that his is newer, smoother, and notably more refined. Those of you who own Accords with the 2.0T will know exactly what I mean. There is something really exceptional about this power train. If you're looking for a comfortable, very refined, almost luxurious car that happens to get great gas mileage, you should definitely check out the new Accord, especially in the Touring trim. I wholeheartedly recommend it. If you prioritize performance over function, maybe the 11th generation Accord isn't the best choice. I'm completely happy with my '21 and my dad is equally as happy with his '25.
Traded in our 21 2.0t Touring for the 23 Hybrid Touring. Got both cars when they first came out and almost had the 21 for 3 years. Just came up on 1 year anniversary in November for the 23 Touring. No regrets still and great car that is better than the 21 imo. A full second quicker didn’t make a difference to me. Getting the much better mpg, no shifting gears, quieter and smoother experience was worth it to me. I don’t miss the 21 2.0t tbh. 🤷🏼♂️ I’m 44 as well so speed is not everything with a car. 2026 model will be refresh year, will be interesting what Honda will do. I expect only exterior changes.
@@brenttitus2134 Nice perspective for someone who has owned one. For me, the gloss black inside and outside the car are way too much. I upgraded from a 2007 Civic to a 2022 Honda Accord 2.0T Touring with 6K miles, and have no regrets. I only get 24-26 average mpg, but the Turbo and 10 Speed Automatic really does make a difference. I test drove the 2025 Accord Hybrid, and was not impressed. Coming from a Civic with 130 HP, the 252 HP on the 2.0T is a major improvement. Regardless, the best way to know if the new Accords are worth buying is test driving them. The new Carmy is also a nice alternative choice if the exterior look of the 11th Generation is a deal-breaker.
Completely agree with you. Traded in my 2022 Hybrid Sport for the 2024. The 2024 is smoother, softer, and quieter, but also lighter and smaller. It’s no match to what the 2022 offered in terms of power and speed.
I also own a 21 Touring. The 2.0t with the 10 speed is amazing. It's reassuring to know that you would pick the tenth Gen over the eleventh Gen after driving both.
I agree with everything you said in your comment. I too have the 2.0T in my 2019 Accord and admire the fun factor of this car, but also admire the refinement and tech in the 11th Generation. I have been back and forth with myself over upgrading, but just can’t bring myself to do it because of the joy and excitement that I get from the 2.0 and 10 spd transmission- as you said, there is just something special about that combination . I’m really hopeful that Honda will make improvements to the powertrain and provide a few more tech goodies with the refresh for 2026. If that happens, I’m sold!
As a long time Honda owner (I've been driving Civics and Accords since 1999), I can tell you that the design is definitely a deterrent for me purchasing this car, but an even bigger deterrent is their use of CVTs and engine offerings. I don't want a hybrid nor do I want a 1.5l turbo. I currently have a 2013 Accord with CVT and even after 8 years of owning it, I can honestly tell you I despise this transmission. My previous 02 Accord with Conventional AT was smooth and refined, and got pretty close to the same MPG that the CVT does. The CVT is definitely smooth, since it doesn't shift, but my God it's loud and annoying and there is no such thing as driving it with the radio off. And it's numb to drive. There is no connection to the car. My other Hondas, I loved, but this one... Well, let's just say I wouldn't be sad if a tree fell on it. I am entertaining the idea of giving it to a young relative who will need a first car next year. I'm planning on going with Mazda from now on. I'm hearing lots of positive feedback from friends and neighbors who own them and have owned them for years. I'm definitely encouraged by this idea when I see less and less Hondas and Toyotas in the neighborhood, and more Mazdas.
When bro said I'm taking full advantage of the heated steering wheel I expected him to say it's been like 20 degrees outside but he says it's been 60 degrees. Bro where I'm from that's warm lol
I think its only the touring which is quieter because it has acoustic glass. I have a 2024 accord ex-l hybrid without acoustic glass and its loud on the highway.
1:00 If your hands are cold at 60F/15.5C you have a circulation problem, no heated steering wheel neeeded for that temperature. Sorry to be "that guy".
I just bought a 2024 Accord exl. It’s an incredible smooth vehicle. Also, a Costco membership will give you a significant discount. The msrp is around 35.6, but my price was 31.8 before fees. Good luck shopping!
2025 Camry LE Hybrid also comes with a spare tire and can have AWD. You really have to ask yourself why you're buying an Accord Hybrid over a Camry Hybrid.
This model of Accord needs a make over. Since I've owned my first Accord (1997) I never thought of owning anything else but if I were to buy a car today I would have to pass on this model.
No it's not it's horrible. It looks like a refrigerator. It's exponentially uglier, versus it's very sharp predecessor. The interior materials on the lower trims look really cheap. All of that for several thousand dollars more than the outgoing body style! Oh yeah plus it's pissy little 1.5 l turbo which won't last long.
Dude, you were glazing this car way too hard. That's one of the downsides when companies lend cars, influencers can only say positive things that need to get approved by Honda before the vide is uploaded. It has a bland exterior, and it's overpriced.
The rear looks extremely unfinished without the black spoiler found on the Sport trim. the design in general has grown on me but in the grand scheme, this design was a major step backwards compared to the 10th generation. Thankfully the refresh will be revealed in fall 2025
This current model is just too bland looking. They need a heavy refresh on the front and back. Plus lower cost with a hybrid to compete with the standard hybrid Toyota Camry.
Agree with you on this one. They should just ditch the 1.5 overall since this engine has had a long spanning history of oil getting diluted with gas and/or coolant. People who buy Hondas aren't looking to deal with engine failure. How many more lawsuits do they want? No wonder people are switching to Hybrid. Which, I wouldn't even want that because those battery packs are a small fortune to replace when it comes time.
I have the 2024 Touring Hybrid. I drove the Camry XSE Hybrid, the Camry was a little more fun to drive. The Honda infotainment system was FAR superior, and is what sold it for me. I've owned 5 Toyota trucks before this purchase, just didn't need a truck anymore. Huge trunk space that holds all my tools. I'm averaging 39.8 MPG since December 2023. I love this car.
Honda watched as Camry sells bolted past them with their new hybrids. Camry retains some of its originality and sporty looks. All things stripped away from the Accord. I suppose that's why they dropped the ex and introduced the SE. An attempt to bring in a younger demographic. Toyota came out with standard air vents in the rear. Standard phone chargers. Honda had to respond. All of this is good for us the consumer. OEM 's are forced to complete for our dollars. Now Hyundai has also come up in price and content for the Sonata. I believe people's perspective on their reliability is what's holding them back.
Love the styling of the 11th generation. My only gripes with the car is the lack of a 360 camera, no panorama roof and an option for a Sh-awd for the high end Touring model.
All preferences and not necessary. The panoramic roof is extra risk you take on in the event of it breaking, I rather have a normal roof instead. Don’t care about 360 camera, and if you want a awd, buy a SUV or truck with 4wd for a better value.
I bought the 2025 Accord Hybrid EXL and love it. It is the best balanced car I have ever owned. It’s quiet, quick and technologically impressive. It is a sleeper that will hopefully be appreciated for all that it offers.
A sleeper? I wouldn't call 15.3 sec a quick car or sleeper, especially for a car that's close to $40,000. It's a tenth of second faster than my Mazda3 awd hatchback that cost in the mid 20s. Swapped out OE tires with lighter and gripper P Zero UHP tires, 4lbs lighter on each wheel, it's for sure quicker than the Accord now. It's a good car, but definitely not a sleeper or quick.
I agree it's better that many car reviews says as it seems kia Hyundai offer them lots of money or incentives. I agree their could be improvements such as more interior colours and interior colours, variations in engine and transmission like 10 speed with hybrid or more power and real hrc parts that functions, type R version, more technology, etc however, for me it's still better than most especially with reliability, built quality, fun to drive when desired, crash test results and heritage.
They need to go back to a V6. I can see offering a hybrid and a V6. You only need a teenie little quisinart engine if your other options is not that good at MPG. If the hybrid is the main offerning with good mpg, then give us an alternate V6 offering. I still have my 2003 EX V6 and these tiny, noisy, less-reliable stand-mixer-sounding 4 cylinders are not tempting me AT ALL. My main beef with the Accord is the uncomfortable front seats. Each generation the front seats get worse. Keep getting flatter and harder. I long for a 2000s Volvo seat or even a current Nissan zero gravity seat. The Accord seats are almost BMW rock-hard bad comfort-wise.
I have the 2020 Accord hybrid in RED with a BEIGE interior. Looks absolutely great. I like the quieter powertrain on the 2024-2025 hybrid, (I've rented them twice) but am not a fan of the body work of the vehicle. However, I do think that all that has to be done is to change the 'front end' and 'rear end' bumpers, to make the whole car more exciting. I've driven the new Camry, rented it for a weekend. It is the better one for gas mileage. But the interior and ride of the Accord is better.
I got the Accord Hybrid Sport and got rid of it. It looked like it wasn’t fully assembled. Not only many features have been missing, but the materials looked and felt excessively cheap. Looks can be deceiving, but you can easily shake the center console, door panels and even the dashboard with one hand. No other automaker in the US uses such subpar plastics. I know the popular Toyota models don’t feel much upper scale, but It’s a Camry win for me.
Whatever they do it, it is NOT enough! The blacked out look is getting real old fast. It looks so cheap. That blacked out grille is lifeless. The whole car looks ultra cheap. This rendition of the Accord deserves to fail big time. I think that is what Honda had in mind. I don't think a full refresh could help save this poor excuse of an Accord. Too bad, it had a great run until now. This generation will not bring buyers back to sedans and as you see, it is repelling most Accord fans. At least they can make it look like its worth $35,000+.
Sorry, what is really hurting this generation's Accord...it is ugly as sin. It looks like a 1990's GM sedan. They really dropped the ball on this design especially after having two past GREAT looking versions
This could be a factor of declining sales of recent generations: Lower affordable trims are ugly (i.e. the wheels) and higher trims with decent wheels are overpriced?
Agreed, the Accord overall is beautiful especially the rear 3/4. However its the front end that ruins it for me. The front end needs to take on a more sporty or dare I say masculine look. Much like the front end on the 25 Civic. Also agree the black rocker molding is not helping things at all it realy cheapness the look.
Usually Honda has a cult following that would buy any car they produce. Well not this time but this car is ugly! This reminds me of when they redesigned the Civic i believe it was 2012-2013 when no on was buying it due to horrible design. The 10th geberation Accord looks way better. You are in the minority by saying this car is good looking
It is ugly and Honda dealers put so much overpriced junk that Accord EX that was 24K in 2009 OTD now is 40k- For this money keep it Honda dealer. I will get the Lexus for this money. Thank you.
It’s sooo fugly 🤮 Boring, bland and dull. Even my 90 year old grandma said the same. And no AWD. If I’m old and want a Grannymobile it’ll be a Camry. 😢
Folks who love those ugly trucks are the ones who “hate” this new Accord design. I love how it looks so similar to the A7, but where Honda lost the plot is interior colors, pricing, and the marketing of this. They need to shell out a little more in marketing as this (Hybrid) is a new product, and competing with Camry, for which Toyota is shelling 100s of millions
Honda's reliability has gone down a lot, why buy a Honda when Toyota is better priced and more reliable, Honda and GM are making cars together 😂😂😂 And the new Accord looks ugly as hell 😂
Make this a wagon and I'll buy it. Sedans are too impractical, while wagons can have the same comfort and handling as a sedan but you can actually use them in everyday life.
I respectfully disagree with you on this point. The Accord sedans (10th & 11th gen) have absolutely huge cabins and the trunk is huge as well. I’m not sure what impractical about the Accord. Plenty of room for a family and all of their crap. I’d argue that most people who buy SUVs and crossovers do so because they like the fact that you ride so high off the road. Sedans ride better and generally have better driving dynamics than a SUV. I do love the idea of a wagon, but Americans just don’t seem to buy them, especially as it compares to Europeans.
@@chrissimmons9969 I have a small hatchback (a Hyundai Ioniq plug-in) and last summer I moved a clothes dryer (full size), an old 8HP 26" wide snow blower (with the handles removed). Last year I was also able to fit 8 SUV tires (225/65R17), 4 of wich were mounted on wheels. That took a couple of tries and some tetris mindset but it worked. @@machine4443 It sold well enough but what's important is who it sold too and the media it created. The 2.0t is the reason channels like throttle house rated this accord as they did which sold 1.5's. And from a less direct marketing veiw The 2.0T was also bought by wealthier people who are more idealized and who tend to buy there cars newer, helping create the mental image I think a lot of people are mixing with style. Yes the new accord looks like a Generic ford taurus rental car wanna be but I think the biggest styling difference is the perception which is linked by definition to that of a cheaper hybrid. I believe the 2.0T sold more 1.5T's than it did 2.0Ts but even if it didn't and only like 6% of accords where 2.0t, those 6% of people won't downgrade. 6% is a big number

@@machine4443 Whoever said it didn't sell well according to hondas bottom line? It sold as well as they expected and you keep ignoring all of the 1.5's that where sold due to media coverage of the 2,0t (I refrenced the throttle house video specifically but the 2.0t got good media coverage overall, this created asporty perspective, sold a decent amount of 2.0t and helped sell the 1.5). The 2.0t and V6 is not a niche group, it's a whole missing catagory that Honda has gone after since the 90s. Your argument is because Honda corporate (Absent contract negotiators increasing costs.) made a decision to cut the top trims of a model, and the model then doesn't do well, that the corporate decision was correct?
Have a 2020 2.0t sport. I think the 11 gen is Ugly. It doesn't perform anything like the 2.0t. But we need to use less gas and pollute less so I'm all for that. But it's just too ugly of a car to buy.

Nice try, Honda, but the car is still ugly. Long time Honda owner here and I plan on switching brands going forward . Why? Because Honda no longer produces cars with the naturally aspirated engines and conventional automatic transmissions that have been, in my experience, satisfying and reliable. My current car is a 13 Accord with CVT and while reliable (so far), it's just an awful and disappointing transmission. Eight years of owning it and I still hate it. I'm entertaining the idea of handing it down to a young relative who will need a first car next year. I'm not sure what is going on with Honda but their problems are real. My Dad's neighbor works at Honda and even he warns of the amount of failures they are seeing in the shop with CVTs, 10 speed ATs, turbo engines with oil dilution from gas and/or coolant, etc. They just aren't what they used to be. I'll be switching to Mazda from now on because they still offer NA engines and conventional automatic transmissions and they seem to be pretty reliable vehicles. Honda.... It's been fun, but sadly I am ready to part ways with you . *Btw, those "green" hybrid battery packs are actually awful for the environment. And they cost a small fortune to replace.*
This car is so slow. Most who have owned an Accord with the V6 or the 2.0T would not be satisfied with the 11th gen. So there’s some buyers gone right there. Couple that with its vanilla looks and it’s no wonder sales have slipped.
@@chrisemerson9748 Quieter and more refined than the 2.0T? Yes, but almost as fast? No. 204hp/247lb ft torque vs 252hp/273lb ft torque. My '21 2.0T will run circles around my dad's '25 Hybrid. Both great cars but the 2.0T is considerably faster.

A lot of people seem to forget it's a hybrid and it's not gonna have the same performance as the V6 and 2.0T. You don't look at a hybrid for the performance and 0-60 times. For most people, those aren't on their checklists. If you have the V6 or 2.0T, keep it. If you're looking to upgrade, it's either the Type R/S for the 2.0T or the TLX for the V6.

people don't make more money, they can roughly afford same amount. So when you make the civic as good as the accord, cheaper, you don't really need accord...it is heavier same hp , slower and yea..slightly more space...No...it is ugly boring with boring color. the last one was better. especially the front grill. when you say interior is beautiful....it is same as smaller civic.

I'll hang into my 2021 accord touring 2.0t. Thanks.
It has a bland exterior, and it's overpriced.
another honda glazing youtuber. it’s like he works for them
The rear looks extremely unfinished without the black spoiler found on the Sport trim. the design in general has grown on me but in the grand scheme, this design was a major step backwards compared to the 10th generation. Thankfully the refresh will be revealed in fall 2025
This current model is just too bland looking. They need a heavy refresh on the front and back. Plus lower cost with a hybrid to compete with the standard hybrid Toyota Camry.
People in colder climates need all wheel drive.
Rather have the 2.0 turbo over any hybrid. Not having another gas engine other than the 1.5 T was a mistake.
The civic looks so much better!!!
Love the styling of the 11th generation. My only gripes with the car is the lack of a 360 camera, no panorama roof and an option for a Sh-awd for the high end Touring model.
All those things Honda will never add on a Honda because they want you to buy accura if you want those features
@@lucastrack3983uh. Almost all of those options are on the Asian variant. We got the crappy version here in the US.
@@lucastrack3983the Asian variant has all those option the US version does not.
It has to be SH-AWD, you won’t accept ordinary AWD? 😆
Previous accord looked macho even if your ugly at least you still got a point, this new one is not eye catching if you're ugly driving this thats it
That reminds me of when i saw someone driving a honda accord one time thank you because thats also a honda accord
The 2012 and older Accords were the best….Honda really cut corners on cabin materials they use inside such as the seats.
Red and beige is nice! Honda could use more interior colors, especially some fun ones like red
LM ANT
New Camry feels even cheaper inside than the Accord.
@ I don’t think so. Did you sit in on and test drive for a while?
@@brenttitus2134 Also, the plastics on the new Hondas are flimsy, cheap and creak and rattle. Not so much on the Pilot.
@@mbcaiost Yes sit in an XSE Camry and Accord Touring. Accord has the higher quality interior.
The car is nice but you said it , the front facial is too long… and no spare… that pushed me away completely from upgrading.
They really dropped the ball on this design especially after having two past GREAT looking versions
yup
Needs redesign the accord ugly civic looks better.
Honda Accord has "Lost It's Way" ..... Honda needs to bring the "Old Honda Values"
I own the same trim and trust me this review is perfect as whatever he said is true and I relate.
the 10gen not only looks better in the front but also the sides and wheels
Wish I would of got one but inflation is crazy
Isn’t the Acura equivalent to the accord the TLX?
It used to be but not anymore. The current TLX is on its own platform now; nothing is shared with the Accord.
Both the TLX and the Accord are fails
. Dude, c’mon. My 2025 TLX Type S is 🔥!!!
Would you pick this over the Camry? That's the question.
It is ugly and Honda dealers put so much overpriced junk that Accord EX that was 24K in 2009 OTD now is 40k- For this money keep it Honda dealer. I will get the Lexus for this money. Thank you.
Great review, very informative.
It’s sooo fugly 🤮
Boring, bland and dull. Even my 90 year old grandma said the same.
And no AWD. If I’m old and want a Grannymobile it’ll be a Camry.
😢
They made it ugly and expensive. Mystery solved
The hybrid isn't that good , the 1.5 turbo is that bad.
They should have kept the V6 which was a beast, fast, smooth and fairly gas efficient.
Not to mention, the V6 will outlast any turbo engine
@@TypicalGuy84What about the V6 turbo in the TLX
So, maybe lower the sale price more. Dealerships mostly to blame for the failure in sales. Greed!
Just 4 years ago the sport was around $27K, now its $34k
Try wisconsin where it's 24 degrees, wind chill of 19. I'd love a heated steering wheel.
Honda's reliability has gone down a lot, why buy a Honda when Toyota is better priced and more reliable, Honda and GM are making cars together 😂😂😂
And the new Accord looks ugly as hell 😂
Acura equivalent to the accord would be the TLX. Yes a little bigger and AWD is available but that's the bigger sedan that Acura makes
The last Accord-based Acura was the TL. TLX has own platform and is more sport oriented.
And of course, No hybrid option with Acura. Except one RLX
Honda have to start offering AWD.

Yea not sure how I feel about this new accord, it does look like it’s a vehicle released in the early 2000’s.
That would have been A 7th Gen. That Gen was revolutionary as it pushed the accord more up market.
This car until now is not electric, so the cars from BYD like BYD Sealion7 is the best of the word.
Overpriced thus the sales
I Honda has to do is give us the Japanese model.
Like I said years ago, no 2.0t, no halo buyers, nobody buying the crappy slow cheap one.Honda is supposed to be Zippy.
its more the styling than performance, 2.0 wasn't a big seller

This care is the ugliest accord made.

the styling of this car is about as exciting as a used bar of soap.
Absolute garbage. The dealers can’t give them away. One of the ugliest cars on the road.
This car is so slow. Most who have owned an Accord with the V6 or the 2.0T would not be satisfied with the 11th gen. So there’s some buyers gone right there. Couple that with its vanilla looks and it’s no wonder sales have slipped.

A lot of people seem to forget it's a hybrid and it's not gonna have the same performance as the V6 and 2.0T. You don't look at a hybrid for the performance and 0-60 times. For most people, those aren't on their checklists.
