I really appreciate that you are a furniture shop/maker with a UA-cam channel not a content creator with a furniture shop.
You say you're not great with math...Man, the math involved in this project hurts my head! Impressive, even with the aid of design software.
Andy & Robert your assistant apprentice! Hats off taking a bow ! Well done my men!
Just in awe at the complexity behind this. Came out looking incredible.
Great job Andy. while watching I was reminded of a tool quilters use to check patterns. They use a wall device to hang and move around pieces to get the right look. Its nice because you are not looking at an angle. Keep up the good work.
Your complexity increases with each project. I would like to see customer reaction.
Straight out of the 70's
The base doesn't do a thing for me but the top is a masterpiece.
You should be proud of yourself and Robert. It is a beautiful Table true craftsmanship. Cheers from Western Australia.
Amazing work as usual. Would be very cool to see how you finished the edge too. To have the veneer continue over the edge was the finishing touch on a true piece of art. Would almost be a shame to use this as a table.
Not to denigrate your other work but this is amongst my favourite videos and pieces you've made.
Seeing that jointer at work is extremely satisfying. Very nice build. Beautiful work.
At 27:10 it finally clicked in little noggin' what your goal was with the matching grain. WOW. I'm in awe. That is amazing.
Thanks for sharing. And, thanks for being real about the challenge and mistakes. None of us is perfect. I sure am not. But, you know, it is encouraging to see you go through the process and deal with issues as they come up.
the angled flush trim jig at 3:50 was so simple but so smart. going to use that one sometime. awesome work
Enough admiring your hard work. Somewhere someone is thinking, he could use 200 tables just like that one. What would you say? I imagine they would be easier after the prototype. But it could also make you crazy. Nice work. Danny
That turned out amazing. Awesome work!
Great looking design and execution guys.....love how real life sometimes gets in the way....gotta go clean the couch, presumably before mom gets home..lol.
Just another demonstration of great craftsmanship with the amazing ability of always staying humble. You're always an inspiration, Andy! Thank you for all your work and dedication
Not sure that base is quite my style but that top is a stunner, well done.
Love the top. Love the shape of the base. I think had it been veneered similar to the top, it would have been astonishing.
Not so with the half round thing. The top is classical joinery. The bottom is now cheap tiki bar.
That is absolutely incredible work. It's one of those pieces of furniture that is almost too beautiful to ever use. I would never want to put anything on it that would hide the sunburst pattern.
Gorgeous, really came together once the finish was applied.
That Oliver bandsaw is such a beast ripping through all that material and it's always one of my favorite things to see in the shop. Whereas my 1/2 HP struggles past 5 inches (still love my baby bandsaw though; extremely useful). Complicated and stunning build Andy!
This table turned out amazing. Considering 200 hours and all the costs of running a business this table must have cost the client 8-10k
I love watching master craftsmen 'create'......
Well what a fantastic job, just blown away by how beautiful it is! You got a rare find in Robert, didn't you? It really is great to see how well you work together, it seems like you are completely in sync with each other. How you worked that great big piece of board through the Oliver to cut those curves was amazingly co-ordinated. You certainly created a complex design and executed it superbly. I've run out of superlatives to express how impressed I am, very well done both of you. 👍🙏
I was thinking the same about Robert. He fits into the scheme of things like he has always been there.
Stunning work, in particular the edges of the top really make it stand out as a piece of art.
That was just the coolest table ever, my mind changes about veneer when I see your videos.
You run an extremely impressive shop!! This table is an extremely impressive example of it!!
amazing work. i'm glad matt talked you into the whole youtube thing
Very nice and well done
Aloha from Maui. Great job on the table. 🤙🤙 Shakas !!
Unbelievable build Andy and Robert, congratulations on this one guys!
What a great build. The table is a show stopper for sure.
Andy, outstanding design and execution, my friend! It was great watching you spraying the finish; I take it you're really happy with how your Fuji Spray MPX-30 spray gun's working out? Your work is second to none and a testament to your drive and skills. Can hardly wait to see what you'll be making next!
What a beautiful work of art❣️ You do such wonderful work❣️ God bless 🙏
Love it, love your videos and always, always look forward to the next project.
200 shop hours and it shows Andy and Bob. The table is incredible and the top is over the top beautiful. You should be proud of this project, an amazing amount of prep work, trial and error and the table is a show stopper and one of a kind. What kind of finish did you use Andy, lacquer or polyurethane? Cheers from this old retired coot living the dream in Tennessee.
Ah amazing piece Andy!!!!!
Once again love your work Andy
Unbelievably great work. That is beautiful. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Andy, very nice and especially with the veneer pattern - complements the unique base style! Always enjoy your videos as one pro to another... Best Regards
Clicked on and instant thumbs up. Super detailed bench top and the base is a really cool unusual shape. Well done guys
Great job on the table. Beautifully done on the top.
STUNNING table top!
Andy keep up the great work
Stunning
Two words, incredible!
Incredible work Andy.
Looks really nice
Fantastic job
That is one pretty sweet looking table.
Lots of work, great build and process, stunning result. Not much else to say.
Master craft sir; well done.
Simply awesome
Always look forward to the new videos- this one did not disappoint!
Side note: will you be selling the black trucker hat or is that old? Love it.
To say that table is absolutely fantastic and beautiful doesn't do it justice. Great job! Were you doing a climb cut on the veneer to prevent chip out?
Bill
Wow... just... wow! Absolutely, incredibly gorgeous. I'm typically not a fan of veneer, but the way that you "continued the grain" with the vertical grain on the veneered edge is SO GOOD. 🙌
Can also be OCD , because none of the grain matches, its just vertical grain.
Amazing tabletop, phenomenal! The method of veneering in the final impression brings to mind more marquetry than ordinary veneer. Great idea: repeating centrically mirrored sheets.
I don't like the base. In my opinion, it is too heavy, too massive, as if "from another table". For this top, I imagine filigree, traditional legs, slightly angled. With a traditional, not too thick frame.
Try to check it (the top is easy to unscrew?), maybe I'm just hinting you an idea for a lot of bucks?
Beautiful
very very good job😘😘😘
Buenísimo Felicidades .un saludo desde Barcelona Catalonia
Absolutely stunning work ! So enjoyable to watch your process. Was it epoxy that you've used to glue the veneer down to the plywood substrate?
that's incredible
Sweet!
Wow...awesome work! Complicated build for sure...
Looks great, guys! Will the client want wire management grommets on the surface?
What size nail are you using to attach the "slats"? Very cool table!
I see you are using the Phillip Morley method of gluing veneer
WOW!
Wow!
I wouldn't be surprised if I came across it as an exhibit in an art gallery. There is so much art, beauty, design and skill in this piece I hope it is valued by its new owner. Thank you for sharing this journey.
0:37 why is your whetstone broken?
Reely nice job .I would like working whit you you make the kind off job I want to learn ( sorry for my english my mother tongue is french)
Andy, who makes the bending plywood used in the base?
He called it "bendy board." Google is your friend.
His last video was on making it
Love the top not so crazy about the bottom, but I am not the client
👍
Looks the bollocks. 👍👍
I don't get where people decided it was a good idea to tape veneer with blue painters tape, but its amusing
I actually agree. It’s always a pain getting it off when it comes out of the bag. I need a proper dispenser for my gummed veneer tape.
@@AndyRawls they make them but you don't need it you can just cut it and use a wet sponge to get it on there, its much easier, I just run the veneer tape through the wide belt and it takes it right off
I like your son's name, i just realized i sound like a creeper, sorry. I say that because my name is also Judd. Awesome project!!!
You guys did a great job. Tape dispenser might be helpful.
That veneer top is beautiful. Nice work guys!
... but saw-cutting the veneer looked pretty hairy. Lots of fingers close to the blade.
Safety third!
Great craftsmanship. I personally don't like the look of it. I think it looks like it came straight out of the 80s.
The end product looks amazing but.... are you sure it´s a good idea to let the child run around barefoot in a workshop and the not tucked in shirt while flush trimming the veneer could end up in an unwanted appendix surgery.
