Thank you. Very clear instructions, will be giving it a go. You could hand knit the cuff and transfer onto machine for a hand knit look, or knit tubes on a double bed machine and pick up afterthought heel and toe. Brilliant channel!
I just made my first ever sock, 12 hours ago, using your pattern generator! My gauge was off, but it came out great!!! So, many many thank you's!!! Your work is the best on UA-cam, i can actually understand what i'm doing 😅
Hi! I'm also a machine knitter and work in IT, your videos and ideas really inspired me. I'm from Argentina so electronic machines are almost impossible to find, but I love how you are managing to combine coding and knitting in standard machines. I have an idea for a project to create punch card patterns from a pixel drawing to be able to do multiple colour jackard with a non-electronic double bed. I will join the discord and hopefully find time to work on it and share it there! Thank you!!
This sound amazing I can’t find an electronic machine that I can afford I have 2 punch card machines. I would love to test for you if you get around to it.
Don't have a knitting machine; not planning to get one. But my two current obsessions are hand-knitting and coding. So I love that I stumbled on this video that uses both!! I'll keep watching and likely end up buying one someday because I have no impulse control. :)
from someone who was gifted one for free I'll say this... If you can get one for free, amazing.... if you can get one for a couple hundred bucks in ready to knit condition, well worth it. To purchase a brand new machine with zero knowledge of how it even works, Carson got you. This channel is amazing and has taught me a lot about the machine i have. I am a hand knitter, and nothing replaces that, but the machine is cool for making quick garments.
thank you very much. this is what i have been searchinng for a years, i got my knitting machine after my grandgrandmother and have no one who would teach me this basics and easy patterns
Just made a few pairs on my chunky machine. one issue, i need to figure how to stop the little hole on the ankle where the heel begins. ive tried crossing the two stitches before i'd start the heel, but that just looks like a little cable twist making two holes on either side of it. The sock fits perfect for me. i have to tweak the rolled cuff length, or maybe just do 1x1 rib with my ribber, but for a mans size 10, i start with 38 stitches and the heel on 19. 44 rows and then the toe. i used a number 4 worsted wool/nylon mix yarn. (Briggs and Little "heritage") best wool yarn in canada. the toe and heel look and fit perfect. I'm a little rusty on the seaming, but im getting the hang of it. Thanks for the pattern!
Excellent video, I really admire your skills. Thank you for making the pattern generator available. I wish you many, many subscribers and support your goal of making machine knitting more accessible. You have already met and exceeded! 🇨🇦
this is amazing. you make it look so easy & seamless. both the knitting and the coding!! truly inspiring! really cool to see what is going on behind the scenes in the creation of these patterns.
Hello Anna, I started following you as I think about buying a knittingmachine as my artritis becomes worse. Now: after seeing this sock I remember seeing a film where a Japanese knitter is knitting from the border down, then knit the heel; foot and toe, but after the smallest part of the toe she increases again but then at the same time she picks up stitches from the other half and knits them together, kind of sowing while knitting. As the sock develops she puts weights in the sock to get a correct stitch. It saves a lot of Kitchener-stitching. (pretty painful for my wrists and fingers…. I appreciate all you videos.
Creative Tien has a video with a similar technique to the one you describe, she refers to the technique as a "Bickford seam", it is supposed to be a little less bulky than a regular mattress stitched seam.
I love your videos, I learn so much. Your explanations and demonstrations are thorough enough even a newby like me can follow, so thank you! I quickly lose interest in channels after I get to know the personality and realize I don’t care for them but the more I watch your videos, the more I look forward to your next video!
you don’t have to code to input your measurements and gauge on her website! the code she sees behind the scenes is not what you see when you go to the website. it confused me on her first video that I watched too because I’m like oh I can’t do all that ahah. I love that she shows the behind the scenes but when you go to her site it is very straightforward to insert your measurements and populate a custom pattern from what she constructed!
I love your channel I'm a beginner got my 1s knitting machine lk150 for Christmas two years ago and I love it but still learning and your tutorials have helped me allot.
Thank you so much for this pattern. I've been following a pattern for a specific size that isn't my size and just approximating and guessing the fit. This will be a great help.
YES YES YES I know how to knit socks and do make mine opposites so that the seams are on the inside of the foot. But. Mine are always hit or miss on sizes. Thank you for the generator. I have a standard knit machine and an LK150 and they are sitting because I just can't find easier to read machine patterns.
Hello. I just wanted to comment, so that you were aware that your mission in your opening address is working in me. I am new to machine knitting and using an LK150 with your single bed sock pattern. It is promising and fun to tweak the numbers with. I am testing with cotton, so it definitely needs shrink-blocking (if that is a thing), but I’m liking the challenge and love the way you patterned in code.
Great video! Thanks! think showing either the entire heel or the toe shaping would've been helpful given that this video is etched at beginners. It is a little confusing to cut form shortingrwoing in to short redoing out without explanation of what is going on.
How awesome! On a technical note, you may want to consider adding units to the foot circumference and length; it's obviously in inches when you take a second to think about it, particularly with example inputs, but I could see someone using metric might absent-mindedly put in measurements in cm on accident.
thanks for all your videos, now i have to get my machines out of storage, been wanting a csm but can't afford one, so lk150 or my singer chunky or brother chunky has to do, still have a wish list of a standard flatbed and a csm lol
Thank you for another inspiring video! My boyfriend's birthday is getting close and I was thinking about knitting a pair of socks for him. So your pattern will be very useful :) I love your generated patterns. They are super convenient and highly customizable. I really enjoy them. Would you consider adding an option for centimeters? I'm from Europe, so I prefer those. Of course, I can convert my measurements to inches, but it would make my life so much easier if I just didn't have to :D I think it should be quite easy. Or I can help with that. I'm a programmer too. Thank you for all your hard work and have a great week!
Have you started on a tutorial for the sock or is this the tutorial? I know you said you may be working on one in the video but I've been looking and haven't found one to accompany the pattern generator for the single bed sock pattern. I also wanted to say thank you for showing us about flatbed machines! I recently got one myself and am so ready to make stuff but don't want to start with something big like a sweater or a skirt.
I always find short rows hard to understand. When drafting the sock, how do you determine how many stitches and rows you will need for the short row portion? Same with the toes, how do you know how much curvature the short rows will produce? And how could one account for people with unique shaped feet (e.g. someone with really long toes that flare out away from the foot)?
Hi, I am a beginner machine knitter on the LK150 and I love what you are doing with these tutorials. Do you plan to add 6,5 gauge pattern generators to your webside? I would loooove a pattern for the cycling sweather on the LK150😍 I have never learned to knit by hand, I am not patient enough 🤭, but I am loving learning to knit on a machine😊
Thank you. Very clear instructions, will be giving it a go. You could hand knit the cuff and transfer onto machine for a hand knit look, or knit tubes on a double bed machine and pick up afterthought heel and toe. Brilliant channel!
I’m doing an independent study in machine knitting this semester, these tutorials are great! Thanks so much

thank you very much. this is what i have been searchinng for a years, i got my knitting machine after my grandgrandmother and have no one who would teach me this basics and easy patterns

Thanks - as a beginner I have been on the lookout for patterns designed for a single bed machine. So it is great to hear you are thinking about us
Thank you for bringing us along on your pattern writing experience! It’s always great to see the thought process that goes into drafting a pattern
Excellent video, I really admire your skills. Thank you for making the pattern generator available. I wish you many, many subscribers and support your goal of making machine knitting more accessible. You have already met and exceeded! 🇨🇦
Works great with the LK-150.

Dunne what it is out the video looks really great compared to older videos, Nice!!

This is so geeky. I LOVE IT.
Thanks
I'm wondering if you can show close ups of the Kitchener and seaming so we can see what your are stitching together?

Could you do a round neck vest

The pattern generators will work with any machine. Just make a gauge swatch and plug in the number of rows and stitches per inch.
omfg im making a mfing sock as soon as im home this evening. tysm {-':
❤
Thank you, again for a great video, I would love to see a pair of trousers. How to draft these . Like the 70 width ones😅.
