This table arrived well packaged and on time. ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxn94T8Mu1iMnsLCMNOI9srXSsLkI4JXKW Like another reviewer advised, I pulled everything out and made sure everything was included (everything was!). I built it alone and it took me about an hour. The color is great and for the price the lift part works well. As others have mentioned, it’s not the smoothest opening/closing, but it works. The screws do show, but I plan to order white sticker covers if that bothers us too much. Really happy with this table! UPDATE: it’s been over a year since we got this coffee table and we still love it! It gets HEAVY use as our dining table, foot rest, and school desk. Over time, the opening and closing mechanism has gotten smoother. I added a new photo with the white screw cover stickers. They blend in perfectly and make it look a little cleaner. 100% recommend!!!

Love the design! And it is nice to see more people using the plywood edges as a design feature instead of covering it up. Very brave and a success in this case!

It's crazy how simple and clean it looks, but, meanwhile, you see the all making process you realize that it's a lot of work, or steps to make that coffee table. I'm not totally in love with it, but I have to admit that is pretty well made and finished.

Excellent work, love the design, you have talent my friend. Had heart failure with the router held to bench with two squeeze clamps. Bit of ply or an old counter top and make a quick table for these operations. That way we can enjoy your ten fingered efforts for years to come.

Excellent design and execution. Seriously I think you did everything right. You know sometimes one does a project that end up great but along the way they skimped on a few minor details that no one would ever notice. We do that because a lot of the time it's not worth it to go the extra sanding mile or what have you. Not here though. I think your design allows for getting it done 100% without sacrificing time. I love it!

wow man, I am super impressed with your work. you're super smart with your workflow and you have an amazing eye for design. I appreciate the comments. Ben from Homemade Modern has a different design approach to his projects. his projects focus on simplicity, accessibility and availability for people with limited tools and skills, which he does it really well. Even though his channel is huge and has grown really well he still chooses to use minimal tools and processes because of this approach. My channel is about my own personal growth as a woodworker and UA-camr so I choose/want to focus on developing my skills and abilities with different methods and tools which can lead to more intricate designs. Riyadh Marthinus's comparison to me and Homemade Modern might not be about the product itself, he could be referring to our video style, work flow, or even our good looks (hopefully *cough cough*).

Man it's so refreshing to see you produce such a great piece with affordable tools! I have used a *terrible* benchtop table saw with a broken fence for years, and while it makes you take that much more care and preparation, you can still get a good result. I still do my planing with a router sled (or skis, really), and my router table is a simple 2'x2' sheet of 3/4 plywood on some 10" 2x4 legs. But thankfully I've just acquired a used cabinet saw and am start to get set up for much more efficient and safe work. It's inspiring to see your work and know there are others making the best of what they have!

Maybe you already know this, but I have a small tip for hand planing. When you're trying to hog off that much material, you can start by planing 90 degrees cross grain. The wood is much weaker in that direction, and who cares if chips and splinters. Once you get close to final dimension or flatness, then you can reduce the depth of cut and switch to planing with the grain.
The only caveat is that you shouldn't take full widths strokes or you can blowout a big chunk from the side of the board that's facing away from you.
