We share a commonality there Mark - I inherited / took custodianship of a mint W124 300E M103 sedan in that lustrous smoke silver with the cream leather interior back in 2001. Ragged high and low over the years by all and sundry but I absolutely love the colour. But then I’m also a big fan of fabric interiors done well.

Love the Datsun sign. My first car as an 18 year old was a 240k then I got 78 4 door 5sp Skyline. When I turned 22 I started at Nestle and the Ford company car journey started.

@@markbehr88 the Skyline dashboard was amazing. Plus it has an overhead console running the centre of the roof. It’s was 2.4 6 cylinder I think. It was the Carby engine. Not overly powerful. It didn’t like hot starts though. The fuel would evaporate before it could get into the engine. You had to hold the accelerator flat to the floor and eventually it would fire up. Cold starts were no problem. Both models very rarely seen now. Often wonder what happened to both cars. They were in show room condition when I sold them.

Sounds golden. Didn't expect a digital dash on such an early build.
Driver's seat looks in good condition.
A few years ago I saw and took a picture of a brown regular trunk shape 1980s Cadillac parked in Matraville. They're was also a blue one floating around Sydney's lower north shore some years beforw that.
Also came across a beige coupe version in Woolloomooloo Shell.

      @@markbehr88 I have encountered a handful.
One time I was walking late at night in a residential street and one drove past which was likely one of the aforementioned sedans and it was like I was in an American TV show for that moment. It was pretty amazing.
I was walking to school in 1984 when I was in the 5th grade and came across a B body Buick (likely a Park Avenue) which would have been pretty new then. I noticed it was even wider than a Falcon (yet these were a downsize!!) and was right hand steer. Only recently I read that Buicks were sold in NZ, so I think this had been shipped over by an owner from there.
PS did not know digital dashes were out that early on American cars. I thought the Aston Martin Lagonda was the very first and a very glitchy one at that. I do know the Isuzu Piazza was revealed in a 1979 car magazine I saw and the Holden badged ones we got in the 80s had the Christmas tree dash as my uncle called it on his.
I have encountered a metallic cherry colour Aston Martin Lagonda in Coogee Beach years ago about 2010 and spoke to the owner briefly who regularly had a pair of St Bernard dogs with him. It has a plaque declaring it was the car James May has driven.

@@jamesfrench7299 Very cool. When I was at FPV, the Tickford engineers and David Flint (MD) used to work at Aston. Some great stories - like a Lagonda travelling over a small iron bridge where they test drove would make all the electronics flash.
