I am OLD but FINALLY decided to take the driving test for the first time. I’m going to practice first. SO nervous cos it’s the HARDEST test of my life! I don’t know how otherwise dumb ppl can be smart drivers! I hope I’m not learning-disabled. My mom loves driving but she’s a GREAT driver and her older sister is a driving GENIUS and taught her how to drive! Her other older sister is NUTS and also a horrible driver, ironically, but I guess she got her license somehow! 😵 Siblings are often OPPOSITES in every way for some weird reason.
Thank you for posting! I just passed my test today and watching the video definitely helped me feel more prepared and confident. This was the route they took me on. I had only 3 points. She told me to check over right shoulder blind spot as it was the main error. FYI they also ask what your hand signals are and to identify your blinkers, hazard lights, windshield wipers, defrosters etc.
Forgot to update! Failed first test for not looking over my shoulder in the bike lane whilst making a right turn… Soo… I PASSED MY SECOND TRY WITH NO MISTAKES!
EASIEST driving test ever?! The route looked easy by comparison BUT it still seems WEIRD to me that we don’t have to parallel-park or drive on the freeway for the LICENSE here in CA. Idk 😵 🤷♂️
Yeah fairly easy test but they're still able to identify drivers who aren't ready to be licensed to drive on their own yet, so not too bad. Freeway driving is indeed very different and will take a lot more practice after this drive test!
I take mine tmr the 27 and I’m so scared and not prepared. Idk if I’m allowed to use hand over hand bc that’s how my instructor taught me and idk I’m screwed.
Good thing you are at least preparing and watching videos like these. Hand over hand probably won't be an issue, focus more on the road, don't forget to enter the bike lane before the turn. Be safe but confident!
At around 7:14 for the right turn, driver should've entered the bike lane before turning. It is confusing in this area though because of the parked cars, this is probably why the instructor was lenient since the parked car blocked the approach to the bike lane.
I wonder if it happens a lot in that particular area! It's a bit confusing with the cars parked inside the bike lane in the residential area. Thankfully the instructor is very understanding and probably took this into account.
Sorry to hear that, hopefully you get it the next time around! We actually practiced this route a few times before the actual drive test, I think it helped on test day.
Was she older? I had an older woman that could have been either black or Mexican or mix. And I passed with 3 points taken off. She was strictly business but we were both polite to one another. it went way better than I expected.
@@PrettyPriincess not the other day because I just realized one of my brake light don’t work. I got it fixed tho but my test is foresure today. Hopefully I pass my first try😭🙏🏾
@@CuddlePool33 make sure every time you switch lanes to first, signal check mirrors, and then check over the shoulders and go. They don’t make you parallel park but they do Make you back up but it’s easy they tell u when to stop but remember before pulling in or out of the curb parking to sign, check mirrors, and over shoulder!! watch you’re speed and make sure when coming on to a stop to fully stop count to 3 then go! If you know that then you will pass fs! 🫶🏼
WHAT?! Not entering the bike lane is an automatic FAIL from SOME testers?! 😵 Also, he seems like a nice guy but I wouldn’t want to make chitchat with the tester even though I’m normally a blabbermouth. I’d be too scared to make mistakes due to distracting conversation. Maybe that’s how this tester tries to make the new driver comfy but I wouldn’t like it. What if you seem WEIRD during the chitchat but are otherwise behaving like a normal person and are driving well?! I hope that’s all that matters for scoring!
Yeah, bike lane thing is usually a critical error. My guess is that the instructor knows that area is confusing with all the parked cars on the bike lane. Plus the turn itself wasn't unsafe in that exact circumstance. But it was a good teachable moment. In fairness to the instructor, he only made chitchat during the red light, but yeah some people might get thrown off if they're trying to focus.
That might be hard because the instructions were in English. I suggest bringing a friend or family member who could ask at the DMV if it's not too far from you.
The guy seems so sweet unlike the ones at Temecula
Temecula dmv is hell!! They failed me 3 times! I passed thr 4th time. They even failed a cop!!
Testers are NICER when they know they’re being recorded on dash cams, maybe?! 😵

I hope my evaluator is as chill as this guy when I take my test
I hope I get lucky 🤞 too because where I live in Ca they can be short tempered.
If you get Jeremiah he's chill asf
My driving test is today! 🙏 thank you for the route refresher
