I remember my grandmaw frying fish just about the same way. She used a black cast iron skillet. She may have fried it up in lard instead of canola oil back then. I remember the aroma of that fish frying in the kitchen., made a little guy so hungry. It must have been pretty good, cause it went fast. No leftovers to be had. If you paid attention to the clap she cooked her fish for 10 minutes turn to him every 5 minutes and she also said turn it on high to get your grease hot then also means once your grease is hot turn it down a little bit Lower. some of you people are so stupid and slow I need to pay a little bit more attention. I seen some of your comments disrespecting this lady who was just trying to help you learn how to cook since obviously you don't if you watching this. Y'all need to grow up stop trolling and really get a life

Great recipe, I like you mix "spices and flour" you put on the fish, just perfect. Corn flour makes a difference. I did the same mix with red snapper and followed your instructions. The women are lining up at my door now but it's for the fish

I just made this. Thanks!!! Only difference is I added squeezed lemon juice as a "wet wash" before flouring and then put salted butter and some Tabasco in the oil. Lawd have mercy.
