      I think it's really cool with the shell, but obviously there's not really any scenario in which I could wear it. Without it though it's simply just a gorgeous watch.

    The Alaska project would look great on the wrist at a black tie event.

    • @mrjakobt

      Wearing a watch at black tie is a no go though. Traditionally speaking ofc. I’d do it as well.

    • @indiefruit
      @indiefruit 5 років тому +16

      @@mrjakobt Black tie is fine. But it should be a dress watch, as you may have a certain time you have to leave or do something at the event. White tie, or an event at someone's house is where you wouldn't wear a watch, as it would 'traditionally' be seen as rude if you needed to know what time it was.

    • @isaiahsinger7101
      @isaiahsinger7101 5 років тому +2

      @@mrjakobt watch is fine a black tie but not okay at white tie

    • @David-ud9ju
      @David-ud9ju 4 роки тому +2

      @@indiefruit The issue is that a watch shouldn't be worn with double cuffs and cuff links because, if you had it under the sleeve, it would be useless because you'd never be able to see it and, if you had it out of the sleeve and pushing up against your hand, it would ruin the look of the outfit and make you look like a horrible show off who was trying to get everyone to look at your watch. There is no place for a watch if you're wearing double cuffs and therefore no place for a watch at a black tie event.

  • @allegedkurd

    I'm so into the look of that Alaska project without the case. I love the strap especially, and would 100% put something like that on a watch for...not space purposes.

I personally like the modern re-edition of 60's and 70's Omega's "tool" watches (and lets not forget that was a large part of their staple / bread and buter before the Swiss watch industry became a luxury and fashion business) such as the PloProf 1200m Ti grade 5; Speedy Mk2 and the Quartz Z33 Spacemaster.

Loved that white and red strap on the last one, I actually got a recent Amphibia on a white Bostok "boot leather" strap and at first was going to change it but it grew on me, now to find meself a cheap Omega hehe Closest thing I have to one is the Eaglemoss NASA Speedmaster which incidentally is a cracking good chronograph but lacking even a working bezel it is sadly NOT a real one.

    the last two watches are cool.
    as a diver i can say that even today it looks better than newer models.
    when person has diving suit watch has a purpose. even everybody uses electronic diving device on arm today, omega has my attention still today.
    not a daily high end watch. just for diving and has a purpose.
    i wish omega makes the same one.
