In this video we take a look at lentils, an inexpensive, delicious food loaded with protein. They also make a great storeable, survival food, (hint, hint).
This made me hungry! Guess what I'm going to make for Dins tonight? I've found lentils (and chickpeas) to be easier to digest than regular beans... far less gas. Got some black organic lentils from Amazon last week, going to put some up to soak now. Thx for the video! 🌱

MY recipe cook on water the lentils until a bit soft not so soft but some medium cook. fried carrots onion garlic and fresh chopped tomatoes. Put the lentils on the mix with the broth you cook the lentils . Add bay leaf . Salt and pepper . Pinch of oregano and fresh chopped silandro.
Currently eating it while watching this I don't have to soak it before using it, just wash it with hot water, and the rest of the ingredients and let it cook, super easy to cook and perfect for cold water, cozy and warm 😇
I recently found a booklet titled 'The Gut Microbiome and the Book of Mormon' on Amazon Kindle. A quick read and provides interesting insight to health.
1 cup red lentils 1 ripe tomato garlic basil salt pepper ,soak lentils, chop tomato cook till slightly thickens add half teaspoon olive oil basil pepper salt chopped clove garlic cook five minutes on low italian dhal
I wouldn’t combine lentils with rice. It might be tasty, but too many carbs. If you’re not going to have it on its own, then combine it with meat and/or veggies.

Eating healthy without eating lentils or legumes is very hard, because you are left with little or no foods "checking the boxes". And those are: high high fiber while being satiating and having moderate calorie density, high protein with low fat. While there are foods which check one or two of those "boxes" - only lentils/legumes check them all and then some.
@@patron7906 we don't have many storage units in our body for fat (I guess only the "yellow" organ fat), so the excess gets under our arteries (epithelium) and causes heart and cardiovascular issues, which are the no.1 death cause worldwide. Eating too much protein is also bad - it can cause stones in our kidneys. While starches (or complex carbs, not to be mistaken with simple sugars) are the way to go: We have storage for them in our muscles and in our liver. Excess gets either burned by extra unconscious movement or stored as fat, with 30% of calories being consumed during the process (called de novo lipogenesis). Low fat is how our ancestors lived, since no fatty food storage (aka fridge) was not widely available, nor was fatty food (oils were expensive and used for industrial lubrication, farm animals were the machines of today, working in the field, too expensive to be eaten by the masses). And the "protein" our ancestors caught and ate was low fat - aka rabbits and wild birds, which are nothing like modern cows and chickens, which have 50% fat even in "lean meat".
It is true that Africa is not a Country, but A Continent. It is like Asia is not a country, Europe is not a country, etc. but they are continents. Understand?
always remember kids: fiber is a double edged sword xD too much and u poo like 4 times a day/feel stuffed like thanks giving turkey, too little and u poo every 4 days and u accumulate weird off fouling substances not easy to find one's individual balance 😬 imo pooing once a day (max 2) is optimal
Also one can reduce lectins (anti nutrients) by boiling lentils for 10 minutes then rinse/drain with water . Fill pot with fresh water and then cook lentils.
anti nutrients feed the gut biome at the end near the colon. Good bacteria needs these. The antinutrient part keeps the food item NOT digestible in order that it can safely reach the "end of the line." and be used for food for the good bacteria in our colon.
It’s a bit of a stretch to call him racist. That’s not right. Misinformed yes, but racist, that’s an unfair assumption. Furthermore, a country can also be a continent. Be fair and factual.

Lentils are so easy and fun to sprout for salads and love adding cooked lentils to coconut/pumpkin soup with curry spices :)
Sounds great!
it's a part of our daily diet because we vegetarians love lentils ❤

What is navy beans? Thanks for info.on beans.
They are white beans just like great northern beans, but different species
Um, do these come wrapped in three dollars of plastic containers, if unsure maybe eating the soil might be more effective?

Very good video with much useful information. It's unfortunate that some must fixate on the "Africa is not a country" clarification.
I doubt if the natives from those "African" countries agree with your condescension.
