A rat who can cook makes an unusual alliance with a young kitchen worker at a famous Paris restaurant. - Розваги
Ego eating the ratatouille reminding him of his mom’s cooking was pure genius. Collete told Linguini you can’t be mommy in the kitchen but at the end of the day, nothing beats momma’s cooking.
There’s actually even a theory that the old woman in the beginning is Ego’s mother (evidence in layout of the house in flashback and whatnot you can prob find online). But the point is that Remy probably got his inspiration, know-how, and love for food from the old woman. With that he was able to melt the heart of the toughest food critic and remind him that good food is entirely subjective. That the best food doesn’t come from pure taste or presentation, but from memories and emotion - things that anyone can have - that anyone can cook.
Ohhh never thought of it like that!!!
@@RedRoseSeptember22 you know, the fact, the dish remembered him his mom's is a good illustration of the proverb saying mom's cooking heals everything.
What happened to him is what we called in France " une madeleine de Proust "
What's funny is rats can't gag cause they don't have an gag flex so for Remy to gag at that soup you know it gotta smell funky as can be 😂
You mean it was so bad that it broke the laws of nature ?
@@a.g.demada5263 That's basically what I was saying without saying those exact words 😭
@@ZionDoesMakeup well I asked you the question
@@a.g.demada5263 Well yeah that's basically what it meant that it literally was so bad that he did something that wasn't even possible for him to do
@@ZionDoesMakeup in a way, my comment showed my surprise because I didn't know that
Shoshana's face when Vince talked about her cooking was SO CUTE 🥺💕
Fr , I love this couple so much , so genuine❤

this is Pixar's magnum opus. Their best movie imo
Definitely a top 5 Pixar movie
Wall-E
@@Carlosbbbbb1 I like Wall-E but this is the best
This he incredibles and finding nemo are the holy trinity of disney
@@bluecollarbuilds I would say Toy Story as well
Theres a theory where the old lady in the beginning of the movie is the food judges mom and that’s why when ratatouille uses the recipe from the stolen book, it brings him back to his childhood.
Sure buddy
I have heard this theory before and believe it or not Pixar did confirm this theory as fact and that was their exact intention with the beginning scene. That is why Remy knew his name in the movie because he lived at his childhood home so he already knew of him beforehand. Now that is good directing!
@@Phelddagrif1998 uh huh sure kid
@@weaksauce1124 why you being like that? sounding like a total geek
@@weaksauce1124🤣🤣
What I love about this movie is that it takes the idea of a rat wanting to become a chef in Paris and turns it into a very funny, entertaining, and just an overall fantastic movie. That idea in general sounds pretty dumb and one that is not an easy sell to people, but when you have Brad Bird directing the movie and a whole team at Pixar behind it, you get something that you would've never expected coming from a movie that has a talking rat.
Yeah I think Pixar trusts Bird so much, he can be allowed to make a movie about a cooking rat.
- "I hate mushrooms."
- "I love mushrooms."
It's indeed a perfect mix!

A videogame composer I respect a lot said that this is "his favorite movie about passion" and I completely agree
Tangential fun fact: Michael Giacchino, the composer of Ratatouille, had a crazy progression to get here and it started in videogames. He scored the Medal of Honor games, some Jurassic Park games, then went on to score shows like Lost, before moving into Pixar and blockbuster territory.
“Focus!? You can’t cook!”
Now my new favorite Vince quote
Ego's review at the end is one of my favorite movie monologues
24:38 Fun Fact: The actor who played Chef Skinner was voiced by Sir Ian Holm (Original Bilbo Baggins)
'GO LEFT GO LEFT'
*GOES LEFT*
'YEAAAHHHHH' like he had any idea which way our rat was supposed to go hahahaha it had me dying, i be like that too
I lived in Paris for more than a year. Paris is one half business (almost all big businesses in France are headquartered there) and one half tourists. If you go, spend a couple of days there and then go to the countryside. Normandy, Alsace, Dijon, pick anyplace that appeals to you and get to know it. Way better than spending your vacation in Paris. In the movie, there is a strong reference to Marcel Proust and “La Recherche du temps perdues”. There is an episode where a character has what is called an involuntary memory where he smells, touches and eat a coffee cake and is transported mentally to his childhood. Exactly what Anton Ego does!
Ah you understood the référence of " la madeleine de Proust " that's great (I'm french)
"Wh...what would you call that flavor?" "Lightning?."😂😂
This movie is fantastic and It still holds up. The scene where Anton Ego is transported back to his childhood will always bring a tear to my eye. It makes me think of my Mama's food❤️👌🏼
For those who don’t know The grandma with the bonnet on and had the shotgun is Anton ego’s mom
That's just a theory, the two look way different.
@@NovaProspekt19 yeah but she got a picture of him on her wall by the door in her house
My apologies to Toy Story but this is hands down the best Pixar film. Ever. And the soundtrack is wonderful.
Ratatouille is one of my favorite movies that’s about food.
I swear every time I watch it I be hungry asf, and I know y’all were probably starving after the movie was over.
You both have great Smiles😃.
Pixar's best movie without a doubt, somehow it makes me almost tear up by just how beautiful it is
YOOOOO I LOVE this movie! One of my all time favorite comfort movies
Never knew a little mouse would make some good dishes lmao
Rat XD
Ego's review is my favorite part of this movie. Especially the part where he finally gets the meaning of Gusteau's motto.
Absolutely love that movie so much
Director Brad Bird cameos as Ambrister, Ego's butler. Skinner's lawyer is voiced by character designer Teddy Newton who also made voice cameos in other Pixar movies such as The Incredibles, WALL-E, Up and Toy Story where he voiced The Chatter Phone. He also directed the short Day & Night which appears before Toy Story 3 in theaters and included on the DVD and Blu-Ray editions (as well is on Disney+). Tony Fucile (additional character designer and animator on the end titles) voices Pompidou and The Health Inspector (though in the UK version, he was replaced by Jamie Oliver for the latter). Lou Romano (who was an employee of Pixar, did visual development on Monsters, Inc, production designing on The Incredibles, where he also voices Bernie Kropp, art director for lightning on Up and cameos as Snot Rod in Cars) voices Alfredo Linguini. Emile, Remy's brother, is voiced by Pete Sohn, who is an animator at Pixar, also voiced The Mugger in The Incredibles, Squishy in Monsters University, Forrest Woodbush in The Good Dinosaur, Ciccio in Luca and Sox in Lightyear, and directed the Pixar movies The Good Dinosaur and Elemental.
I love a lot of Pixar movies, but the overall scene of this movie is why I love it so much. It has a very particular vibe and the story is so freaking unique. I think the music and visuals inside the kitchen are absolutely amazing. The dish they served Ego is not a traditional ratatouille stew like you see in his flashback, it's actually called Confit Byaldi and if I remember right was created for this movie. Someone told a chef to make ratatouille fancy and that's what he came up with.
Funny that you should say, he looks like Sméagol because the guy doing the voice is is the guy that played Bilbo
This movie is apart of my childhood remember watching this all the time with my aunt at her house eating pizza
you guys make such a great couple. been watching for a long time. luv your reractions
This is my favorite Pixar movie, by far. So glad you guys reacted to it! ❤🐀
If go to Eiffel Tower, it’s hard to walk more than 20 feet without vendors stopping you to sell something.
Also, be careful with people asking you to sign a “waiver” or something to support because while people are distracted signing, someone will pass by and steal stuff in your bag.
Other than that, Paris is nice
Ego's flashback scene was emotional for me. Nothing beats Momma's cooking.
Awesome reaction of my favorite Pixar movie!!!!!!😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
you guys already watched everything everywhere all at once, right? so now you get the reference
That’s the beauty of the film, you go into it not expecting much which is exactly the point. It’s my fave
truly a legendary movie, cant even explain what makes it so good but you just feel good watching it🤣
When I first watched this movie I actually got tears in my eyes when Anton the critic tasted Remy's ratatouille dish and was transported back to childhood. It was just amazing to me to see a master (Remy) so good at his craft that he was able to break through to even the scariest and most difficult to impress critic. I only wish I could be that good at a craft and it really hit me in the feels. Love this movie for that.
I'm french and I had the occasion to go in Paris a few times because I have family who lives near it.
Fun facts : the singer of " Le festin " the song we can hear during the movie, is Colette's french voice.
And the dish served to Ego isn't the real ratatouille but " un tian de légumes ". The real one is what Ego's mother served him.
Colette called the ratatouille " a peasant dish " because it's not considered as a gastronomic dish.
A little cultural thing : Ego's flashback is what us french called " une madeleine de Proust " which means something reminding us our childhood, in reference of a book of the french writer, Marcel Proust, where the odor of madeleines reminded him when he went on his aunt's house and she always gave him one after dipping it in her tea
Something about this movie I love so much! I’ve probably watched it 20x now and I really enjoy each time! Thank you for sharing with us!
I love Remy The Rat from Ratatouille!!!!! 🐀🐁🫶🫶🫶🫶
That rat trap shop does really exist in Paris, with stuffed rats in traps and all.
I've been to Paris 3 times and there's a reason. The vibe is unmatched, the food is amazing, its so nice. You guys should definitely go! Granted, I haven't been since before Covid, so it might be different now. But its a lot of fun! A lot of locals on a nice day will grab a baguette and a bottle of wine and sit on the river and watch the sunset.
Try to visit others places than Paris next time you go to France. We have much more
When Lingunini consinder putting Remy inside his pants or even inside his underwear (and Remy makes the "do-I-have-to"-face), you can see that the underwear Linguini wears have The Incredibles pattern on them (another Brad Bird movie and his first Pixar movie).
omg you guys adding subtitles, THANK UUUUUUUUUU, that’s awesome
I love this movie. One of Pixar's gems.
this is my first time on your channel, you guys are so cute and positive
I love this movie so much!! 😌
I love this movie! Great choice.
I've been to Paris, it's lovely!
Hi I'm Julie your latest subscriber and I love this movie it ages like fine wine 😄👋🏻💕🎥🐀🍷
My second favorite. Love this movie!
Great reaction yall, also this a great time for me to ask if yall can react to The Bear, it's a series about cooking at it's base but the characters and dialogue are fantastic
Great reaction you guys!!! Though I wish they make a sequel
The shadow of the dog that barks at Remy is a cameo made by Dug who would appear in then up-coming Up.
Great review! I’m hungry now 😅
I went with my brother 2019 and it was absolutely breathtaking!
Since Vince asked, a group of friends and I traveled to Paris in December 1999, days before the year 2000. It was packed; it was cold; it was beautiful. ⚜ I hope you'll both go someday and enjoy the flavors.
Went to Paris for a year, got pregnant week 3 and we had our son there and came home 6 weeks later. Made it there 11 months out of the intended 12.
Great city and food and pastries and markets. France in general is great to travel and eat around.
This movie gets me so emotional like none other the scene when the critique eats the ratatouille and it brings him back to his mother cooking it for him when he was a child it’s just 🥺 this film is the representation of that feeling every time I see it, it brings me back to being a little child watching it almost everyday and enjoying it every time a little more, the ending of this movie with the review of the critique and ratatouille opening his own restaurant is just a punch in the heart for me I just love it gives me tears everytime, I wish I could be a child again and experience this film for the first time again it’s my comfort movie and it will always remind me of my childhood and of so many family members that are not with me physically anymore but they are in my 🫀
Skinner is voiced by late Sir Ian Holm, who played Ash in Alien and Old Bilbo Baggins in The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit trilogies.
Anton Ego is voiced by late Peter O'Toole, most famous to played the main character in Lawrence of Arabia.
Girl you should make cooking video's!!! i would watch that ❤❤❤
Now I want to see you react to more animated movies because this is one of my favorites.
HEYYYY GUYYYZZZZ, i have recently become a fan and since then thoroughly enjoyed the reactions...... thank you, both of you are FANTFLIPPINTASTIC.
(PS:- the whole time i was watching the 'get out' reaction i was constantly saying "brother wink if you are in danger")
I was in Paris for the first half of May of 2012. My travelling companions and I all got terrible colds just beforehand which messed up my tastebuds. But I still got to eat all the stuff that everyone should eat if they ever get there. It was amazing.
I always loved to watch this movie as a kid, still love it to this day
Hey guys. I think another animated movie you could check out is "Rango" with Johnny Depp.
Great movie! Definitely worth the watch.
You guys should come to Paris awesome city and Annecy (a city with moutains and a huge lake down south) you'll love it!
Watching this on my lunch break gives me the energy i need 😅
I went to France in 2017 and Paris was magical ❤
I love this so much everyone can cook
One of my favorites ❤
Such a good movie
Ratatouille is a great and a fun movie. I loved the idea of anyone can cook, especially the idea of a rat cooking and getting close to food that we humans eat even though it doesn’t sound so good based on the first impression of a rat cooking but then we slowly appreciate the idea of anyone can cook, which then makes it slowly sound/look sweet and cute of a rat cooking. Loved the music and the shots/views of Paris. The cast was great. Loved your reactions/analysis, take care, stay healthy and have a great one.
If you havent before, you should watch Lilo and Stitch. One of my favorite movies
Funny y’all would draw a physical connection between Chef Skinner and Gollum! Skinner was voiced by Sir Ian Holm, the actor who played Bilbo Baggins in LotR, who we saw start to be corrupted by The One Ring in the same way Gollum was!
This is my mom’s favorite movie I love it it’s truly a feel good movie ❤🥰
The pure joy on their faces is so cute 🫶 9:55
35:40, I thought Vince would laugh at this scene as he laughed it earlier too 😊😂😊😂😊
This is my favorite Pixar movie. You two should check out the ride at Epcot, if you get the chance.
SOOOO HAPPY
My favorite Dreamworks/Pixar movie ever is Spirit with Ratatouille in second. Spirit is imo the best non verbal animal animated movie ever made. If you’ve seen you will understand why that is my opinion. If you haven’t seen Spirit please for the love of god watch it asap.
(Dreamworks and Pixar are very similar in the way the animate so that’s why I put them together)
Anyone can cook is a great quote in the movie.
CLASSIC
New sub from NM ❤ I think the grandma at the start was a veteran of the French resistance against the Germans in wwii.. That’s why the ammo and gas mask. 😊
Seriously, if no one comments on this first….I LOVE THE MIGHTY DUCKS JERSEY! That’s OG right there!
Also, love you guys. Great reaction. Love spending time with y’all.
17:18. That's so nice
Love the video and love you guys ❤❤ You guys should finish watching the other last 2 movies of the maze runner and also a movie I recommend you guys to also watch is gran turismo. It's a great movie 10/10 definitely would watch again but besides that, love you guys and respect for both of you as well. ❤❤
I remember when this came out my school had got a bunch of ratatouille type shit like Scratch an Sniff books an stickers We got to see it in Theaters an couple more things but I was in an out watching the movie cuz I had a short attention span when I was a kid but first time fully seein it an yeah that was a good movie
I actually made Ratatouille the way Remy does here (this version is actually called Confit Byaldi), and it was really good. Ended up making a protein too since veggies aren't filling enough for me lol.
It was surprisingly easy, but prep time was long. I highly recommend using a mandoline).
Thanks to Shoshana and Vince! 🧑🍳 I love this one. I'm so grateful I got to see it on the big screen. 🐀
Whie hard to describe the taste of saffron, in my home country Sweden, some like to have saffron in fish soup (me I'm not a big fan of fish except for salmon) and in the Christmas season we have saffronbuns (a lot of times they're decorated with raisins) called Lussekatter or Lussebullar.
I really love this movie so much!
Please react to Big Hero 6 :)
I forgot how much I missed this movie when it first came out these new kids will never understand
I was gone ask if ya have watvh chappie before would love to see ya react to it is a great movie 🤍
Brother Vince about about house shopping… Shosanna lit up ✌🏿👍🏾🙏🏿
Would love to see you guys react to the biopics Selena and La Bamba! Love your channel! You two seem so sweet!
Y’all should react to another Brad Bird film like The Iron Giant or The Incredibles.
It's funny you compare Skinner to Smeagol. The actor who voices him played Bilbo Baggins in LOTR
34:10 That's the funniest one that Vince laughed 😂😂😂
You guys should watch the Gray man with Chris Evans that movie is so good
Yes, gusteau also had a rat helping him, that why the guy found a rat hair in gusteau's hat, she get it but he didn't and convice her otherwise lol
2:54 pretty sure he said shocked not shot lol
